Even the cheapest new nvidia is better than xbox and ps5 but there are some new cards like 2500 bucks! 8k streaming lol barely even a thing yet but eventually will be.

How would you compare the noise level to your 1070? I have a friend that owns that exact card. Would you say its much louder?
It actually makes less noise. I hear a small rumbling sometimes, but i do have a noise reducing cabinet. It's less than the old though! Card has been doing great!
@@NerdOfTheNorth alright that's good to hear! Reviews on this card are hard to come by (likely because it's not one of the high end triple fan designs) but availability is better than the other cards. So I'm really glad you did decide to make a video on the card.
Couple of questions (if you don't mind)
1. What is the Backplate made of?
2. To what frequency does the card boost (programs like Msi afterburner or HW monitor should report the clock speed)
3. Does it have a fan stop feature
4. Would you recommend buying this card or should I rather wait for something like the ventus x3 getting back in stock?

I just got this card too and I'm having issues with the Display Port connections. When I move the computer tower just a little bit the Display Port loses connection to monitor and then reconnects- or other times doesn't at all until I play around with it a bit. All 3 Display Ports are doing the same thing. I tried different cables and different monitors. The HDMI port is fine tho and does not have this issue. I tried the same Display Port cables and monitors on an RX580 and there are no problems there. Have you experienced this? Moving the PC end of the Display Port just a little bit makes it lose connection, moving the monitor end of the Display Port is fine.
Interesting! I have 3 monitors connected and havent had a problem yet. I would check your warranty and get a new one before its too late!

Why are your RAM sticks in slots next to each other? Is that a quirk of your motherboard or did you install them incorrectly?
Well, I originally had a pair of them giving me 16 gb. A friend gave me another pair which were a different brand but same frequency. After trying every configuration of them, this was the only way they would work. I have 32 gb and they seem to be working fine, but playing around inside the pc is new to me so maybe I have done something wrong? What's your thoughts?
@@NerdOfTheNorth I think you should definitely try to utilize dual channel. If the frequencies are different, have you tried to throttle the faster stick to the speed of the slower one in your BIOS?
You are teaching me something new. Originally when I had 2 sticks it was like this - Ram empty ram empty. Essentially I'd want 4 matching with LED but this motherboard and setup is about 5 years old so I don't think I will be investing any more into it. I will look into your suggestion!
@@NerdOfTheNorth Glad to help. Ram empty ram empty is exactly correct. Depending on the motherboard it might be empty ram empty ram, but it should give you a prompt on boot-up if it's installed incorrectly.
I was basically going on the led lights inside the motherboard and the current setup was the only way I could get the white light, then green light meaning it was accepted. Perhaps if I gave you the motherboard name you would be able to know for sure?
What about the temperatures? How hot did it get under load?
75c after an hour of playing.. it stayed right there most of the time.

I also have a asus gtx 1070 rog oc. Whats the power diffrence compared to eqch other? Average fps inprovement? Cuz we dont see a fps test with your rig with the 1070 to compare
Thanks for your response mate! I have to admit working inside a pc and graphics etc is new to me. I am aware that the new nvidia cards demand more power so I upgraded from a 650 w power supply as that would have been barely enough. As far as FPS goes I think I was in the 60 -70 range before and now easy 144. I hope this helps!
@@NerdOfTheNorth yes its helping. I built my pc back in 2016 with a i7 6700k. Thankfully i bought a 850w suppy back then so that solves that . I started struggling to run AAA games at max or near max. Deciding to get a 3070 but right now the msi twin oc is the only one im able to buy here where i am now. I have same card. Bit over 1 week old. Fans at 85-100% are so loud, it sounds like they are broken - rattling and whining. Is it normal? And thermals. Few days they were normal, 28*C idle and 60*C at full load. Not it is 38*C idle and over 70*C at full load. Like, what?
It doesn't sound normal! Mine are silent, I'd definitely check your warranty options. Let me know if u get it fixed!
What is the power limit for overclocking like? And the temps?
Im still learning as I go, from what I understand it is already over clocked, but the advantage i can unlock is with undervolting. Temps were at 75c after an hour of full graphics tomb raider .

I am always worried that it won't fit into my case, because it is so wide.
The ram is kinda funky. In dual channel it will run on slots 1,3 and 2,4.
And your different ram modules are in 1,2 and 3,4. So you have cross brand ram. I am guessing they are the same exact type, so it works.
But it's a bit funky.
I have gotten a new motherboard since this video and the same ram are placed differently. Im pretty sure it all depends on the motherboard and the ram you have available. MY case isnt anything extra big or anything and the gpu fit just fine.

So, im real happy with it even before undervolting it mostly because I couldnt completely understand how to undervolt but i may try and sort it out.

650w is enough for a 3070. Only time you would need 850w is for a 3090

@@NerdOfTheNorth Late as heck reply, but the only thing I can imagine him meaning is to use two SEPARATE cables. That is, you may be using a single cable that has splitters on it; but to get a more stable power delivery, you should use a single connector on two different pcie cables from different ports on your PSU. idk if you've learned that by now, but with the increased power delivery requirements of the 30 series, it has become more important.
What's the point? I need to know how the card is boosting, temps and noise not average FPS.
Hate to break it to you, but it's my channel and my video. That's the point. I upload videos that might be helpful, and there is discussion of Temps in the comments.
Temps is down to your case. But before mine dead it was fairly quite. But under load I had a weird rattle from the plastics moving
I dont think your getting all the fps because of 1080p. These cards are meant for 1440p and 4k and get the most out them.

So weird there are so little videos on this particular model. I imagine this test was heavily cpu bottlenecked as well. I grabbed one because they were the cheapest on ebay and I am quite certain I can make it work just as well as any 3070, especially with the complaints here, which are always nonsense. A plastic backplate is cheap, but to get the most out of one of these 'budget' cards you throw a waterblock on it and you win and all the complaints are gone.
I'm actually considering a water cooler because it doesn't overheat but does get a bit warm. Thanks for your comment!
The reason for that is this is pretty much vanilla rtx. Nothing special no special overclocking features no special cooling not turbo boosted like the asus version of the cards. Basically if you paid 50$ over mark for this card you overpaid. All mail did with this version of the card is change the fan face plate. That is all
The reason most people dislike this card version is because it has no extra performance over the FE card. While it is more expensive. The only difference between the FE and the 2X is the cooler and that can only give you about +/-30Mhz extra which is nothing. While there are 3070 cards of the same price that have more performance. Yes they are less efficient but only like 20/40w more and go over 2Ghz of clockspeed

dont get this one guys its built cheap honestly well i mean really yeah get it if ya cant find anything elts haha but one my ports are kinda janky and when you wiggle the hdmi or display cord it cuts out signal to my monitor pretty easy and theres a bit of gpu sag for being a 2 fan card and the plastic back plate is a no no in my mind but performance wise not bad just a crap built card honestly. like i could see if you could get it at 500 but mine was 550 and then plus tax so almost 600 bucks and for that price you should be able to get a nice 3 fan gpu with a metal back plate but of course these bastards are rare so yeah......lol
