- Salmon fishing is a type of fishing I have done ever since I was a kid. In fact its the first type of fishing I ever did. But nothing could have prepared me for my experience salmon fishing here in Japan. Salmon fishing is illegal in freshwater in Japan so Salmon anglers try their luck at esturary mouths and off the beaches!
This Salmon fishing experience was something different to what I was used to and safe to say it wasn't something I paticularly enjoyed.
I wasn't going to post this fishing video because it didn't seem right, but I also want to provide the real side to Japan and not all fishing experiences are amazing fishing adventures!

Hey Harry just come in from a match on Holyhead breakwater with 50 to 60mph gusts. Was bloody difficult. At least Tottenham won, oh ye so did Everton. Tightlines🐟

Looks a similar setup to fishing with a bombarda float which is used to cast a fly type lure a long distance for sea trout. Harry show them how spinning for salmon is done and get out there with a flying C
Hahahaha! Mate you know what I had it all set up in the back and next year I’m going classic spoon and easy methods ! Only issue is the sheer number of anglers 😢

Really appreciate the video. Clearly a bit different and a long way from what you and most of us that watch your channel enjoy but it’s also great to see and learn what the locals do.
I couldn’t tell from the video but were they all chatting to each other and being sociable cos otherwise I can’t see the appeal of standing in a line so close to other anglers.
At least with match fishing there’s usually a club house and a bit of banter
