There are certain times of the year when the alabama rig is truly the only way to catch bass. You can throw anything you want but there is something about the alabama rig that gets fish to bite when no other lure or technique will.

@@Troutfisch Exactly right but like with any sport, NFL, Baseball, Basketball etc...they want more homeruns, more touchdowns, higher scoring games, more dunks...well an A-rig would help deliver that. If FFS is legal then make A-Rigs legal if they won't ban FFS...have both?

thank you for listening to the feed back and making this video.. a wealth of knowledge in how to use it and the best ways to set it up. a lot of tips you gave I would have never considered as yes I always thought of this as a deep open water scenario and being a kayak fisherman being in a open water situation on a big lake isn't exactly the smartest where I live

I started using those Berkley swimbait jigs this spring. They are fantastic. I love that you can get up to three different hook sizes for the same weight. For instance for 1/4 oz you can get 2/0,3/0, or 4/0 and the hooks are really strong.
Thank you again. The A-rig can be a killer setup in December. I have caught quite a few very large peacock bass in South Florida on an A-rigs!

My favorite way to make my alabama rigs Weedless is to use wobble heads with a ewg hook on the back it works great and keep up the amazing videos

I throw one with 2.75” Big Joshies all the time here ! My buddy replaces the top two with a bigger willow blade instead of dummies sometimes on the flash mob JR.Saves baits and looks good too
I’ve fished an A-rig without much luck. I know it’s user error, but it seems to be a hard lure to throw from the bank. I do use 65 lb braid on an extra heavy rod, but the lack of action when I’ve thrown it before, does not endear it to me. Looks to be better put to use from a boat.

Hey Tyler, love your videos. Since the off season is around the corner I was wondering if you could do a video on reel maintenance? (Cleaning, lube, any little tricks)
I used to used one of those years ago before I got cable TV. Instead of fluorocarbon or braid, I used coaxial. Never caught any fish sitting on top of my house, but the doves and pigeons LOVED IT!
Just throw some juice to it and you have dinner!

i use this bad boy almost everyday in FL i enjoy 1/8th ounce jig heads, biggest one on this rig is over 4 pounds, and ive also caught 3 at once with this rig!!
I use those screw in style swimbait hooks for senkos, flukes, and creatures. They work so much better than your standard round Bend or ewg hooks. They stay in place your baits will last longer and that Jackhammer style hook leaves plenty exposed to get a good hook set. I am going to try those weighted ones I imagine in a lot of cases it would eliminate the need for a Texas rig style weight of any kind. Try them out tell me what you think the three ought seems to be a great size for most baits.
Awesome video have a question tho in my state im only allowed 2 hooks would just throw hooks on the bottom 2 spots or would you do one middle and one on the bottom and just hope a dummy bait doesn't get a bite
my PB is on a 5 bait setup they definitely pull in the big ones in the right conditions.

Sup Tyler, I have 1, in RI can't have more than 2 hooks per rod, treble counts as 1, unless it changed? I have life license so don't keep up, before couldn't use a jerkbait or wakebait ect with 3 treble hooks, I did use an Alabama rig at our private club pond👍, just works when nothing else works, appreciate the tips, never used super glue. Tyvm tc 🎣

Great video. My question is, I'm only allowed 2 hooks in my state. How would you rig that up? Would you make one bait at the bottom and the rest dummies? Except for the longer one obviously thank you. I would appreciate any help. I can't figure this out.

Your not allowed to have over 3 hooks on your line setup, depending on your location. That might be the reason it's not allowed.
Plus if you think about it, if a fish gets hooked and starts thrashing hard. The other hooks may cause harm to it.

I have lost more A Rigs than fish I've caught on them , lost three A Rigs and have caught two total fish lol
I use Yum flash mob jr for stripers here in the Carolina and it handles big stripers just fine.

Alabama rig has a sliding weight that can't get close to the hook and plastic worm. This is an umbrella rig homie.

Started off good then went into a sales pitch for a rod I've been using the same rod and real from 1985 a ZEE BEE 202 and a ZEE BEE 404 and a ugly stick I can't count the amount of fish this old pole has caught
