Thank you very much! I've been having problems with exporting my beats recently... When trying to export the whole track i happened to get some parts of the drums getting cut out... Now after seeing your video and therefore seeing the ,,What you hear - Live Input" option everything worked out just fine! Thank you very much, you've got a new subscriber.
@antsn101 Also, try using "freeze synth" on your synth rack and it will mix your session drummer grid to an audio track that you can simply select and export as though it were any other audio track.
Question, When I playback music that I have exported, the music level (high then goes low) varies. Why is that? When I playback music in the track view window, the sound level is consistent.
Hi Brian. Thanks so much for the tutorial and I have subscribed to your channel. Thank you also for the compression video. The problem I have with exporting from X1 and even versions un the past is when I play the exported file in WAV or Mp3 in Winamp, Windows Media Player, itunes, etc... The playback seems way less dynamic and sometimes loses volume. I thought it might be the EQ settings in the playback software so I set them all to flat. Still lose a lot of volume. Suggestions?
On Exporting. I don't believe I'm doing this correctly. Say I have 6 drum tracks and four instrument tracks. I EQ and set levels for each drum tracks then bounce them to a single drum track. I select each midi/instrument track, and bounce each of them to a separate track. I now have 5 tracks one drums, 4 instruments. In console view get levels for all these tracks. I now bounce all these tracks to one project track then export to SoundCloud. I'm now thinking I didn't have to do all the bounces I could have exported the Main Buss Track anywhere in this process. Is that correct?
thanks to see you here! Hi OBEDIA, Do you know the reason why Cakewalk has no sound after export? i can hear all sounds of tracks but... after export audio... no... sound.... T..T...
Hello Brian. Getting a huge drop in volume when I export. I went back and kind of mixed the whole thing and upped the volume on most tracks, it's better, but not really close to commercial volume. An idea I just had from a Logic video was to export, then re-import into another project and try to gain from there. Won't this cause distortion? Any tips? Do I have to get a mastering program, of which I also don't know much about? I just want to post some starter songs online. Much appreciated
thanks for these tips. One problem is that when I go to choose Export, Wave is not in the options. It does say :BroadcastWave" is that the same thing? Thanks!
I've just started recording on Sonar X1 but I'm having a hard time. When I record multiple tracks they sound great on Sonar but when I export to iTunes, it's so quiet, I have messed with the settings but can't figure out what I'm doing wrong or if it's something in the recording process. Any help would be great! Thanks
i kno what u mean: in Sonar everything "sounds" radio ready, however, when i export, and listen on a device such as my cell phone, there is a considerable difference in volume . some tracks sound high, some too low...etc... Solution: keep testing on your device(s) b4 producing The CD
i have the cakewalk 5.0 and i want to know how do i hear anything on it. i cant hear anything that is going on. i want to know how do i hear my beats and stuff before i record it and after. i really need your help. i hope that you know. if you dont know can you please try and ask someone who might know.thanks
I'M TRYING TO RENDER A MIDI TO MY DESK TOP AND IT WON'T DO IT. I AVE SONAR X1 LE. THE ONLY THREE PROGRAMS THAT REALLY WORK FOR ME IS REASON, PROTOOLS AND CUBASE.
Great Video, thank you! However, I had a strange issue come up where, when I switch WMA for MP3 and also switch to 16 bit (if not mp3 does not work), a message comes up that says "The MP3 encoder must be unlocked before use. Visit cakewalk.com to upgrade a previous encoder, or to purchase a new encoder." What does that mean?? Thanks a ton!
hi +OBEDIA im having trouble exporting the guitar seems to be exported but no matter what i do the midi stays silent in the exported track what can i do?
The funny Thing is this WAVE Files can not be played with Media Player, Cool Edit, Audition, Soundbooth or Reason. I can import the WAVE into Sonar and it will play, but that is not the goal. The only way to publish my Music is to play it from Sonar and recording it with a second Computer or Tape Machine.
I figured it out. During and after working with Sonar the sound card is blocked for all other players. After exporting the WAV I have to restart the computer. Not very comfortable.
@antsn101 You should be able to simply follow this process, and your MIDI performance will be bounced to audio. Call me if you have issues; 1-855-553-7205 Thanks, brian
Sonar X series really are incredibly fiddly pieces of software. The mixdown system is so needlessly complicated. On a arrangement where you have many different tracks, why can't it be that what you hear in playback gets mixed down like in every other sequencer? Why do you have to select every bloody track that you want to be included in the mix all over again?
Thank you very much!

THANK YOU SO MUCH! I had no clue what the cakewalk website was on about but you explained it crystal clear. Thanks a million man.
You can select to export mp3 when you export your song.
Thank you so much for this video. You've made an intimidating process extremely simple to follow!
Thank you so much, please sub for more!

could you help me in this please?
Everytime I record a song and export the song the size of my file is usually around 40MB any suggestions to make it more suitable on size?
I am having the same issue..Brian, any advice? thanks.
I'M TRYING TO RENDER A MIDI TO MY DESK TOP AND IT WON'T DO IT. I AVE SONAR X1 LE. THE ONLY THREE PROGRAMS THAT REALLY WORK FOR ME IS REASON, PROTOOLS AND CUBASE.
check that you have the latest sonar version. .
Thanks nice video
How do i get Session drummer to export??
Still not working. I export midi tracks, I tried all options, but it only exports some of my MIDI channels and not all of them.
you have to purchase an MP3 encoder plugin for some versions of Sonar, unfortunately.
Hi Paul, Not sure how you mean - you can't really export the project into a soundcard - all sonar projects have to be used in Sonar.
thank you
@jarmstead16 I have the same problem, can anyone please give us advice?
Compression, and amplification!
.wav files are very large. If you go to mp3, you'll have smaller file sizes, but less audio fidelity.
THANK YOU BRO !!
:) thank you. Glad to help you! /brian

@jarmstead16 Make sure you're not bypassing your master audio effects on your export.
Yes in support of the comment below I can hear loud from sonar but when I export to audio it's so low...why in support of the first comment
I exported & the volume was lower & the quality was muddy...do u have idea how to fix this?
check your export settings.
thanks alot man
Thank you
hi +OBEDIA im having trouble exporting the guitar seems to be exported but no matter what i do the midi stays silent in the exported track what can i do?
Not sure what you might mean -- audio recorded guitar, or MIDI guitar?
in exported audio file i can hear the guitar but midi ( i made the drums and the piano with midi) is nowhere to be heard OBEDIA
Yup, same thing!
Thanks man.
Thank you so much, please sub for more!
Can you make a Vid for How to Bounce Stems For Mixdown , or Link me if you have one already, this will b very useful!
thanks!
When I try to play it it says not avalible
Mp3s are lossy, you might want to use .wav.
Same problem here !
Everyone has different mixing needs, so you just have to find the proper DAW for you!
ima try dis
using sonar
Thank you please sub for more!

I can't see any reason for that. Check that you're exporting a windows .wav file.

similar options in cubase, it's also faster than real-time export. there's a real-time option in x3
