You can tell this guy loves his job. Talk about doing what you love.
3:22 omg when john mcbride threw that rare mic I was dying! XD And his excuse was even more perfect "well you gotta have a little fun." hilarious.
When he threw that mic my heart stoped
erinxsjxriderx you should have seen the look on your face
It's something they do on every tour
The only stereo 251 in the world flying through the air was legendary lmao
It’s only metal, wires, and soldering. The value comes from rarity not all function. I use sm57 and 58’s. Don’t get me wrong I’d love anything old telefunkin.
In 1977, I mixed an album on the first 8078 installed at Capitol studio B, Capitol in Hollywood. No better sounding console has ever been built....
I agree with this statement. Everyone loves the workflow and routing flexibility of these newer SSL's but the pre's and EQ's just do, not, compare to anything Rupert Neve designs.
I recorded some of my new album SHADOWLAND here with the fantastic Ernesto Oliviera on the desk and Kira Small singing with me. The staff were all brilliant and supportive and you could tell everybody there loved what they are doing. From Bruce Springsteen, Taylor Swift to the guy that just walks in off the street you are certain they will do their best for you. It is not cheap but you get what you pay for. Thanks to John and the team. This is the nearest that the US has to Abbey Road. Regards from Lockdown England.
Y’all need to go to this studio’s academy! I’m only two months in, and I feel like I could run a session in their studios! They have amazing teachers, and they bring outside engineers and producers to give you tips and tricks. You will definitely not regret going!
My heart was in my mouth when he threw the mic...o god....he is crazy...but what collection...like a dream...
He has that insured, and they NEVER use that microphone. It's a collectible piece.
just amazing! and what a great guy! this video was too short! 👏👏👏👌 💯 ❤️🎶
Man just to sit in that studio for 20 mins and jam out on the drums is now on my bucket list haha
That API desk blew my freaking mind.
Probably the most impressive studio I've seen!
Everything's so practical, no designer this or decor that, or 'look how this drum room doubles as a jacuzzi', it's just all practical.
I can imagine with so much at your fingertips there, the creativity must just leak out of everyone inside!
And whether they'll ever make the money back that they put in or not is insignificant, because the results from this studio are culturally priceless. Tada is gan iarracht, agus buíochas le dia that someone has the money to make that happen.
Holly shit! This place is heaven for us musicians/producers!!!
Now that’s a great boss! Would be such a joy to work for that guy.
When he threw that Mic...! What an amazing studio!
Wow wish I had some of that cool ass gear for my little home studio, the history of music recording and equipment in one building, not just a world class recording studio, but a functional museum of sound, incredible!!
Would love to arrange a tour. Sounds like a place that my son would get more inspired. He relocated to Nashville 10 months ago and would LOVE it there. I will send your very friendly video to him.
Wow! WOW!! What a studio!!!!
Thanks for the tour! Excellent!

I love this place!! I think John has a great personality and awesome attitude towards his art.. It is my dream to have a studio of my own... I take this as inspiration... Thank you John
I love this Guy’s attitude. He can bring the best out of someone
I've actually been here. Studio C is a trip, the wood is freaky in real life.
I listened to a beck record in there, too, and it was like beck was standing there in person singing.
I can't believe they didn't show the game room! it's above the recording room with the red lamps. It's like a man cave!
Happy recording
Thanks for the tour John! That was fun! Peace, Harmony
Attending the Conservatory right now. This place is definitely my first choice for my internship. If I make it in I'd be honored to work for John. He's a legend in the industry.
Hands down the best sound man to ever live! GOAT of the industry, and he used to run a company called MD Clair Brothers before he & Martina was married. Was running sound for over 100 different artists in every genre.
Really interesting and I love this guy doing the best and supporting his famous wife and their children- This is a great story and thx for sharing.
If I could record only one of my songs at this studio, I would live happily ever after.
Amazing studio!!!
What a great place to work, and a great place to learn!
What an awesome facility, keep making hits Mr. McBride.
I’m planning to a project here. I can’t wait!
i dont have the smallest home recording and i love this so much i can watch it all day long

I didn't know it back then, but that's why a lot of home studios I recorded at had the Mic in the bathroom
omg...stunning!
Why am i now seeing this video. While im here using a reverb plugin this guy is using an actual room...... Epic
best studio ever !!!!
Awesome studio making history.
When he threw that mic, I lost it. Shocking and funny at the same time. My kind of guy... Still laughing...
As soon as he threw it I was like 'Oh he was making that up, they never made a stereo 251...', then I realised he is just a crazy cat! Hahahahaha
Just awesome
Super sweet!
Wow! awesome video
Its amazing...I wanna study there!!
Wow . . . YOU ~ ROCK ! !

Daaaaaayyyyyyyummmmm! This setup is dope as hell. I'm converting the back of a box truck into a pro studio... space is an issue, but hopefully I can still pull off something as epic as this! Thx for the vid 🤘

What a great guy! 👏
sick studio!!
AWESOME PLACE
Awesome guy!
Omg... This studio is insane
never thought rock bands recorded in Nashville - very cool!
wow very nice!!!
lol did he really just throw 100k
haha, that was great. - that's definitely not "the only" stereo 251 that Telefunken ever made, though. It might be the "prototype", but there is at least one more of them. There is one in Jackson Browne's studio.
slamcrank "At least one more" lawd almighty. xD
Telefunken now makes replicas of them but John’s is the only original one
JoeyShirkMusic - while it's nice that you believe him, it's simply not true. There were at least 25 of the microphones made in the early 1960's during prototyping and there were a small number made in official runs before they were discontinued and replaced with the AKG C24 stereo. The last one I saw was around 2003 and I believe Studio No. 9 in Toronto purchased it. There is definitely one in Jackson's studio.
My dad worked with this guy at GLW Harrison consoles in coolsprings, tn back in the 90's...
I would kill to internship here. I'd totally just sweep the floors and clean the boards just to be close to this stuff.
i interned here for 5 months trust me you don't want to
Michael Elliott yeah, i actually heard a lot about this studio since my comment and it's all been negative.
Zakk Day
yea man theres so many great studios in Nashville, much better learning opportunities
Michael Elliott What didn't you like about it? I live in NC and I'm about to graduate high school, I was looking into Dark Horse institute but don't know a lot of other good studios in TN
Michael Elliott what was so bad about it?
Catch ... Ahahaha 100 k almost went down
My heart...
I want to be blessed by you , I want to be audio producer I leave in Uganda East Africa and would be blessed to acquire knowledge from you.+256772971167 is my number

Awesome
That's a studio! Period.

I liked those wooden diffusion method. Pretty handy and effective.
Wow . amazing gears.

Please make more video's like this.
Very nice would love to record there one day
Awesome studio. Thanks for this inspire video. I wish i can be one of the student. I'M 51 years old and i play a lots of music instrument, and I recording with pro tools only for me and my family and friend, and learning from you tube, but is no is enough. Also is expensive. I just bought a Neumann tom 107. Thanks for the video and congratulation.
I was just thinking "oh man he better not drop that mic" and then he proceeds to throw the damn thing. Jeeeeeeeesshh XD

Sweet miclocker!!
Holy shit,
ladies and gentlemen! Welcome to heaven!
I live in Murfreesboro, just 30 minutes away 😱😱😱
Nice tour John. Lots to be proud of there. It's nice to see someone with the passion still making recordings. I only hope some of that wears off on your students.
wow
35 premium drumkits...damn, they spent in hardcases for those drums 10 times my budget for my whole recording studio!
