Yeah, just be careful you read the fine print. The 300 BLK adapter I saw on their website is a 1:12 twist. That's barely enough to stabilize a supersonic load. Only the lightest, fastest 300 BLK would ever use such a twist successfully. Industry standard is 1:7, and some that specialize in large subsonic bullets are made in 1:5. In a hunting situation, which is about the only application for a single-shot set up like that (other than a range toy), light weight bullets like that are less than ideal. 300 BLK hunting rounds come in all weights and speeds... choose appropriately (even the lightest 110gr Hornady GMX ammo suggest a 1:8).
Now this got my attention, I now have 37 45Colt 1873 clones and an adapter for my single shot 12ga in that round is a great addition. It even has a rudimentary adjustable rear sight. I plan on 45 Colt, 44mag just to start. And will tell local shop, might be a big selling point for budget single shot guns that might otherwise be passed up by shoppers. I only have an MCA, but I think the quality on these Chaszels is far better and easier than having to send a check via snail mail. That's for the .45-70, .30-30, and other true rifle calibers, for pistol and revolver adapters I don't see the point of an adapter longer than 10 or 12 inches and the Chiappa adapters that are 8 or 10 inches are much cheaper.
Very interesting FortuneCookie45LC , I’ve never seen rifle barrel inserts for shotguns . Hopefully you will let us know what sort of groups these barrel inserts are capable of at 50 and 100 yards . Cheers 🍻
I can honestly attest the great Customer Service, even during Dec/ 2.019's Holidays, when Chad Waters himself took my order for three different adapters in .45 'LONG' Colt (I'm pretty 'Old School', BTW) + 9x19mm + .38 Spl./ .357 Mag., that provided a 'resurrection' for my late Dad's, very old Beretta 12ga single shot. Awsome results with all three using reloads. Now, I'm thinking of shortening the shotgun's original Bbl, roughly 1.5" to 2" inches in a lathe, threading the muzzle end of adapter & making a 'barrel tensioner' device of sorts, (4140 or 4130 chromoly), that can be adjusted by tightening / loosening said device, just to find out any accuracy improvement thru this project. These Chaszel products are manufactured to very High Quality standards and are All American!!.🤗🇺🇲✊
Went to their website to order. Out of Stock. Let me try a different caliber. Out of Stock. Ok, different caliber Out of Stock. They sure could use a "Show In Stock Only" button. I did click a few Notify In Stock buttons. Not holding my breath - or, as you say, "..we shall see". Thanks for the video.
The Anchorage, Alaska police department used 2 3/4" .45 ACP shotgun adapters for training with their 12 gauge shotguns. They would run 5 rounds of 12 ga adapters with .45 ACP through their shotguns for training. Reduced cost for training ammunition; less felt recoil; showed the officers exactly where their point of aim/pointing, impacted on the target (so many people think if you point a shotgun at something, well of course you're going to hit it!! That just doesn't always happen.). Seeing as how the 2 3/4" inserts function through 12 gauge shotguns, give this some thought: in your pump shotgun you could have 12 gauge shotgun ammo AND the 2 3/4" .45 ACP; .38/357 mag; .44 mag; .45 Colt ammunition shotgun adapter in the chamber, or in the magazine tube, positioning them however you felt would be good 'for your use'? Training with a 2 3/4" adapter in a handgun cartridge allows reduced cost and felt recoil, yet provides you/a young adult/person of slight build, training time with the actual shotgun.
I remember, 60 years or so ago insert adapters for a .22 to fit in a 12ga single shot break open gun. The stopped selling them for a reason. Wont say, but lots of fun.
Chaszel sells a .22lr cartridge adapter barrel on their website. It's still pretty common to plink with, but a .22lr is pretty dirty and low powered. Any centerfire cartridge will give you better results typically.
I just ordered the .30-30 and 7.62x39 here on 06/07 as they showed in stock at Chazel after months an months of not being in stock so if you see this I hope you can get your 7.62x39 before the stock gets depleted
I have the 7.62 x 39 adapter. Very accurate but doesn't like steel cased ammo as it's a bear to extract. I shoot Hornady Black in mine with no problems.
I bought a ATI NOMAD 12 GA single shot with a SB1 receiver,I order 7 inserts from chazzel 45-70,30-30,35 Remington,44 mag,357 maximum,410/45,&9 mm. The rifle ones are 24" the handgun caliber's 18" I then purchased a barrel clamp scope mount from Amazon and 7 aim point red dots, with quick detach mounts, Everything stores in my backpack I mainly use the 35 Remington at one hundred yards it will shoot a 3 shot 1/2" group, the only one that does kinda of poorly is the 45-70 at 100 yards a 3 shot group is around 2" still dropping game but not winning any matches
Those O-ring slots 6" from the end if the 24" 45-70 are primarily so you can use it in an 18" barrel. That's how I use mine. Just got my 18" 30-30 adapter yesterday and can't wait to try it. I have multiple adaptors in various lengths from Chazsel, Short Lane, and Shooter's Box, and love them.
Yes, originally, the 24" 45/70 adapters only had O-ring slots on each end. But, they added the slots six inches from the end to facilitate using them in 18" barrels. That's how I use mine.
Interesting product. I've seen short drop-in adapters in the past that only had 6" or less (some even JUST the chamber size of 2.75 or 3"), but a full-length barrel allows for a real ballistic ability for rifle and even hot pistol loads. Most 9mm rounds top out around 8" of barrel length, but a 10mm can use a 16" barrel easily. Shotgun barrels being 18" or longer, I'm impressed that this allows for a fully rifled design. Their website has 9mm, .45, 10mm, and even popular AR platform calibers like .300 Blackout or 450 Bushmaster. Obviously, these don't allow cycling rounds through a shotgun lifter/elevator so pump or semi-auto isn't possible... but it should be able to hand-load one round at a time... I'm just not sure what would happen to a 12-gauge extractor trying to grab this contraption after firing. Maybe it clears completely, and the bolt just pulls away empty and locks back on the empty magazine catch? ... or it smashes into this adapter and ruins your gun. I wish there was more information on this. Might be worth picking up a pump-action Mossberg 12g just to try these out though. :) Incidentally a Mossberg Shockwave with that shorty 14.375" barrel would probably be considered a SBR with this barrel attachment... assuming they ever made one for its short barrel. I'll probably pick up a 18" Shockwave to avoid that issue and allow for a proper tactical stock with pistol grip. Looking at their website, it appears the .300 BLK is rifled as 1:12, which is an acceptable rate for lighter super-sonic loads. Heavier, subsonic bullets however require a 1:7 (industry standard) or even a 1:5 twist rate. It's strange they'd make a SHTF adapter for shotguns that only uses supersonic lightweight loads that aren't really useful for hunting... especially in a single-shot at a time set up. For what it is though, these adapters seem like fun plinker accessories to have for the range. I'd be curious to see if a 30-30 or 300 BLK fully rifled barrel adapter would be more accurate that a rifled choke for 12g deer slugs. That would be a cool experiment/video.
That was the first shotgun I told FC45LC to test these in to check for pressure issues before he put them in his much more valuable over/under. As long as you don't push the loads to the max, you should be safe so long as your NEF uses the stronger frame. I know they had an SB1 and SB2 frame, I can't remember which is the stronger one.
The issue that I think these adapters have is the lighter the bullet, the further from the POA the bullet will hit, thus you'd have to do a lot of guesswork remembering where to hold at what distance with one caliber vs another. There's also the issue with barrel regulation where even if you had two inserts, one in each barrel, that were the same caliber/chambering they will likely have a different POI at the same distance. It's possible that with different projectile weights that it could be figured out, say maybe a 300 grain bullet in the top barrel and a 500 grain bullet in the bottom barrel could hit to the same POI at a certain distance. Could be that a .30-30 in one barrel could hit the same POI with a .45-70, likely wouldn't be. On top of all that there's the POA issue where the .45-70 in one barrel could hit way hi or way low in one barrel and the .30-30 vice versa in the opposite barrel. This is a very unique concept that requires a lot of test shooting to see what can be done to get both barrels to shoot to the closest POI and as close to the POA as possible. It would be a lot easier to figure this all out with just one insert in one barrel and use the other barrel as a shotgun to make for a combination gun. The double rifle concept is a lot more interesting tho, especially when you consider it costs less than $250 to turn any double barrel shotgun into a double rifle with these inserts.
@@greglaroche1753 Maybe on a Thompson Center frame it could. The issue with most break action shotguns is they're built on a frame meant for shotguns, not high power rifles.
I was thinking about the normally less expensive single shot 12ga breach locks. One insert for a .458 and another for a 22-250. You could maybe add a .308. You could go for extremely big game, Hunt white tails as well as varmint. And you can still use it as a shot gun too.
Got the 45Colt, and a question. Since the 12ga is a low pressure round and 45-70,,30-30 are substantially higher pressure have you had any issues with those rounds damaging your guns?
Extracting the steel case will not be fun. I worry about pressure with 762x39 in a shotgun, IMO big bore .45 Colt and 45-70 are best for these adapters, but Steve will let us know if .30 caliber is good or not.
That’s great! I’ve not seen rifle caliber inserts. Did you make a video on the 45-70? By the way, the 30-30 and 45-70 have an effective range further than 150 yards.

Hello sir can I carry these adaptor(only) with my self in flight to other foreign countries ? Any kind of restrictions while flying with these adaptors ?
I had barrels from BCA that fell out of the pkg as the UPS guy was walking up to the house. Luckily I was there & saw it so I could dry them off (fell into the snow) & hit them with some corrosion X.
I would end up using some sort of soft lead wire fit into the o-ring slot that way you can tap the insert down the barrel and it'll fit perfectly snug and will be a custom fit
very neat, had not heard of this store, been using 380 ACP adapter in 20 gauge from short lane adapters with poor results, but the 45 ACP adapter in 20 gauge from Chiappa shoots very well
They need to figure a way to make these for Mossberg pumps since the barrela could be removed to install one. May be tougher to load and digging spent shell back out after shooting but I'd be willing to do it. Pressures may be hard on pump mechanism but my M590A1 has the heavy barrel and all metal receiver.
I'm sure it could be done, but the cost to make them work and the amount of work to install the adapter into a pump is too much that most people wouldn't do it. Break actions are simpler and cheaper.
JT - If you have a break open shotgun, I would recommend these. In shorter form, one could have three or four of these in his/her pack. What limits us is the sighting system on our shotguns - what these adapters allow is for us to shoot other calibers in our shotguns. And if the ranges are reasonable, and the animals large, we can make hits. More practice and knowledge of our gun and adapter barrel along with stalking or tree stand skills will bring home venison, back bear or hog without a doubt. Good shootin' to ya, Steve
Hi I have a polish flare gun..I do have a 12g adapter but no 22lR no 410g etc. I would love to get my hands on a kit that would fit my flare gun. Would give me a chance to practice my shooting before I even dare get out hunting... Thank you
If that's the stronger receiver, that's what I'd use. The .45-70 does seem pretty forgiving tho loaded to trapdoor pressures, but I'd want to get more feedback from others who have the weaker receiver and have tried using adapters in them before.
I was thinking about buying a 9mm one and reaming it out to .350 legend. Ive been looking at reloading availability if the legend and i think I want to either buy a gun or an adapter.
I have a theory that heavier bullets are better for these shotgun inserts as I think the POI will be much closer to the POA, thus I'd suggest .44 or .45.
He doesn't do custom orders. He makes what he makes and not a lot. I got one of his in .22 and it's sweet. Super accurate and the 11" version leaves a lot of space inside the shotgun barrel for the gasses to expand . Almost like it's suppressed, doesn't hurt my ears to shoot.
Oh also 556 and 308 won't work. Max pressure this even kinda works at is 45k ish. Most modern calibers operate at 55k plus pressures. Though really in most shotguns 35k is the limit before primers start blowing out because shotgun firing pins don't support the primer properly.
@@caseyb1346 Huh, 35k? That would explain why Ace up in Alaska didn't want to make a .327 adapter. Odd that Chaszeal does make one. I guess it depends on the primer size too, large pistol primers would be better supported than small.
Steve, I would imagine that these would be great for playing around with cast bullets. Just for fun and an interesting day at the range. Btw, that's a nice single shot Browning trap gun. looking forward to seeing you again up in my neck of the woods, we will have to spend some range time (with coffee) and get it filmed. -Dave
Someone needs to make a 12G shotgun fitted with a low profile rail so you can slap a scope on it for centrefire shooting and then be able to take it off again to go trap shooting at the country club without raising eyebrows.
They're probably overflowing with orders. I've been waiting for their .410 adapters for a while, but I assume they don't have anywhere near as much demand for .410 adapters as they do 12 gauge.
These inserts make the 12 gauges versatility to another level! Literally hundreds of calibers and combinations that could be used.

I really enjoy experimenting with subcal adapters, tried Numrich & Shooters Box, wanted to get a Chaszel but got a reply from them saying they will not ship to Canada. I might have to get some custom made on this side of the border. Thanks for your opinion. Mike
Hey their fellow Canadian. Look-up Aztech Armory, they import firearms and parts into Canada.
nine35.ca carries them
@@mayesfoster4573 Thank you, I have the webpage open right now, this is great news for me. Mike
@@HobbiesHobo I just ordered one in.357
@@mayesfoster4573 No luck for me today. 6" / 12 ga. sold out, but it's good to know about them for future. Unfortunately anything over 6" is too big to fit in a buttstock ammo pouch. Thanks for letting me know, I'd love to hear how your results are after testing. My contact info is on my channel. Thanks again, Mike.
Hello sir can I carry these adaptor(only) with my self in flight to other foreign countries ?
Any kind of restrictions while flying with these adaptors ?
Do you think they would be a option for a Damascus bp shotgun to shoot modern rounds? With in reason of course.
Good question
thats what these are perfect for imo.
Where can i buy this kind of adapter.?...i want 5.56mm adapter...
i been looking for couple months now and always out of stock online, , did they quit manufacturing them ????
Chaszel needs to make a 24" 1:20" twist .45 Colt insert for 20g and 12ga
With the 3 o rings is it any more stiff going in and out?
Also wondering what kind of velocity you get
It is still easy to get them out. They're so shotguns with extractor don't "spit" them out when opening.
I can't find the other video you speak of. What kind of accuracy were you getting?
I had barrels from BCA that fell out of the pkg as the UPS guy was walking up to the house. Luckily I was there & saw it so I could dry them off (fell into the snow) & hit them with some corrosion X.
Slugs can reach out to 100-150 yards, right? If the 45-70 is only good for that range, why would you need these inserts when you can just buy slugs?
thats what i always said. a 12 ga slug is on par with 45/70 imo.
I would end up using some sort of soft lead wire fit into the o-ring slot that way you can tap the insert down the barrel and it'll fit perfectly snug and will be a custom fit
I'm mad at myself for not buying a Stoeger 12ga coach gun years ago, which came with a .45-70 barrel sleeve, for $200!!
can we get a shooting vid of these please
Can you trim part of the rim off the adapter so it will not eject?
very neat, had not heard of this store, been using 380 ACP adapter in 20 gauge from short lane adapters with poor results, but the 45 ACP adapter in 20 gauge from Chiappa shoots very well
.380 shooting low or hi?
@@DickTickles sideways sometimes, it is a non rifled adapter, only tapered to the end
That’s pretty sweet I wonder if they make any to fit in a 20 gauge?
yes they do
did you ever get out and shoot any video on these adapters?
on the edge of my seat for your range test
I've got one in .327 Fed Mag, and got one in .30-30 this weekend!
I also have one in .327. Isn't it great? Now the problem is finding ammo. I need to learn to reload.
I've got the ammo, but had to sell all the guns! Now I can shoot .32s again!
How do you extract the spent shell? Thanks
There is a cutout for your thumbnail
I’d like one in 300 blackout or 450 bushmaster
Now yer talkin
They need to figure a way to make these for Mossberg pumps since the barrela could be removed to install one. May be tougher to load and digging spent shell back out after shooting but I'd be willing to do it. Pressures may be hard on pump mechanism but my M590A1 has the heavy barrel and all metal receiver.
I'm sure it could be done, but the cost to make them work and the amount of work to install the adapter into a pump is too much that most people wouldn't do it. Break actions are simpler and cheaper.
Maybe not this company but I seen it on UA-cam using a insert with a pump still single shot of course but look it up on UA-cam I'm sure it
How did you make out at the range?
SOLD OUT. I can't find one of these in a rifle caliber right now. Not that it should be a surprise.
You don't happen to have a Winchester 1887 to test those in do you?
FC45,
Have you tried these yet, and if so, what is the verdict on them? I'm thinking of getting some.
JT
JT - If you have a break open shotgun, I would recommend these. In shorter form, one could have three or four of these in his/her pack. What limits us is the sighting system on our shotguns - what these adapters allow is for us to shoot other calibers in our shotguns. And if the ranges are reasonable, and the animals large, we can make hits. More practice and knowledge of our gun and adapter barrel along with stalking or tree stand skills will bring home venison, back bear or hog without a doubt. Good shootin' to ya, Steve
Is there 30.06 adapter for 12 bore shotgun????
Hi I have a polish flare gun..I do have a 12g adapter but no 22lR no 410g etc. I would love to get my hands on a kit that would fit my flare gun. Would give me a chance to practice my shooting before I even dare get out hunting...
Thank you
Are there barrel adapter for 24 gauge to .357 magnum? Can you recommend a site? Thank you.
I can't have a drilling but i can make a 12g and 30 30 combo 😂 perfect for hunting whatever you come across
Is everything ok at chazel they have nothing in stock and they don't write back
Technical question about OD diameter of adapter and fitment in a rifled barrel ie NEF tracker II, H&R Ultra?
I wouldn't bother shooting these in a rifled slug gun.
I think I would like to see them perform.
For shooting the 45-70 do you need to have a sb2 receiver
If that's the stronger receiver, that's what I'd use. The .45-70 does seem pretty forgiving tho loaded to trapdoor pressures, but I'd want to get more feedback from others who have the weaker receiver and have tried using adapters in them before.
They're pretty much sold out except for some 2 3/4" lengths in pistol calibers.
Can they work in a bolt action shotgun and how easy is it to take a fired case out?
The 3 inch adapters can, but the extractor will pull them out each time. These are really a break action only type of thing.
Share me a link where to buy
Very cool
I was thinking about buying a 9mm one and reaming it out to .350 legend. Ive been looking at reloading availability if the legend and i think I want to either buy a gun or an adapter.
you do realize thats how they made the orginal 350 legend AR15s.
@Mr. Cool the barrels are not made of pot metal, dude. 30-30 is on par or stronger than 350 legend, and it hasnt blown up.
Are they available for sale
I got two 45-70 for my sxs. Poor mans double rifle lol.
2 years ago they were in stock! no longer😮
Why get 2x .30/.30 barrels.... Wait for it... Double barrel fun!?!
Plus ability to use spitzer style bullets and not the round nose.
O -rings are metal or rubber?
Rubber
thanks
Very interested to see how these group. Kinda tempted to pick up the .327 or .357 for use as a "ranch rifle" for pest control.
I have a theory that heavier bullets are better for these shotgun inserts as I think the POI will be much closer to the POA, thus I'd suggest .44 or .45.
No website to order
There's another thing we won't be able to get in Canada.
Please someone drop a link to this chazel plz I'd Pay extra for on of these adapter or especially more if someone can get one in 308 and 556
He doesn't do custom orders.
270 6.5 Creedmore 76239 sks😊
Steve, I would imagine that these would be great for playing around with cast bullets. Just for fun and an interesting day at the range. Btw, that's a nice single shot Browning trap gun. looking forward to seeing you again up in my neck of the woods, we will have to spend some range time (with coffee) and get it filmed. -Dave
Someone needs to make a 12G shotgun fitted with a low profile rail so you can slap a scope on it for centrefire shooting and then be able to take it off again to go trap shooting at the country club without raising eyebrows.
Buenos días cuanto$ los 3 adaptadores y si melos pueden enviar a mi domisilio
Can i order here in india?
Hell no. Only USA. MAGA!
Hello everyone, os their anyone. Can give the link how to buy this product
Their eBay page doesn't have any more
Donde comprar y precio en peru
Hmm,not sure on these but innovation is a good thing and no paperwork.
I like it but my country doesn't allow the use of guns ... if possible I will buy and make a souvenir tree myself..❤️💓💓
Did this guy just say Dick Tickels?
You betcha, lol.
1:49 "I chexted him...". WTF?
Great stock, i guess. But Chaszel running out of stock all year long lol...
They're probably overflowing with orders. I've been waiting for their .410 adapters for a while, but I assume they don't have anywhere near as much demand for .410 adapters as they do 12 gauge.
.30-.30 and 45-70 are effective way past 120 yards. Out of a rifle.
I bought a barrel from you but you didn't send it or return the money...
I see you delete comments. that have a different point of view .
Why no officer, I don’t have a 9mm pistol, just this old 12 gauge shot gun, sure is a shame about that guy, must be a gang shooting.
To bad every thing he lists is out of stock.
