I just realized the pansexual flag is the primary printer colors (magenta cyan and yellow) which can be used to make every other color, just like how pansexual people can form an attraction to every other gender
I’ve noticed that and it’s my favourite thing to point out to my friends. I am pansexual and I was so excited about the Pan representation I saw at the Houston Texas Pride Festival this year. There was Pan merch everywhere and when the DJ’s would say stuff like where my Gays at, where my Bi’s at, they each remember Pans. And surprisingly enough I was not the only one. It made me finally feel like I am a part of something instead all alone
I came out as bi to my friend and she said that I’d better not have a crush on her. I said “no, sorry I have standards”. She seemed legit upset but at least she didn’t know she is actually my crush. 😂
oof, i had a friend always ask if i was Sure i wouldn't "accidentally" like her and like,, after 20+ times she asked i had to spell it out like "YES, you have nothing to worry about, i can assure you that's NOT going to happen" and then she'd be "lol that's a little sad". heteros are exhausting
similar happened to me when I came out as pan, I explained I like personalities over parts. she replied with "oh you must really fancy me then" and I laughed.
I'm a pansexual who once locked themself in the kitchen cupboard for like...fifteen minutes on accident. It wasn't my coming out, I was just stupid. And scared.
My identity is a bit confusing, but it isn't every random person's business, and that's a part of why I just id as queer to the wider world. But this is a great response.
I am a queer woman who is married to a pansexual man. We are constantly asked "How can you be fill in how we identify, and be in a, heterosexual relationship?" 😑 Because we love each other. Duh.
right? its like people thinking all bisexuals fucken cheat just reply with a "youre straight and in a straight relationship, how do you not go out with other people while also in a relationship with eachother" cause anyway you put it makes no goddamn sense
Lmaooo same. My husband was actually the one who suggested I was probably pansexual! Now he sends me photographs of sexy women and nb people for fun lol

so rare to see pan positivity, I've identified as pan for 22 years, and known people who were older than me with it. I can't believe the amount of people who tell me it's just a "tumblr identity" as if it just started 14 years ago. Seeing this positivity is always great! thank you!! I always love bi - pan solidarity
@@mariebourgot4949 but that’s the small minority of people and its very rooted in misinformation, while the bi-people who are hateful towards pan people with such accusations are much more “validated” and predominant in their speech (which is also just rooted in plain misinformation).
I’ve had so many people say the “well if you haven’t been with all genders, how could you know?” It’s so frustrating. If you haven’t been with all genders how do you know you’re straight?!
I’m pan, and non-binary, but have never been with another non-binary person, but I know I sure as Hell am attracted to non-binary people, especially if they’re very androgynous. I know what I like and I like it all, regardless of who I’ve actually slept with.
I've always said I was Pansexual ever since I found out about it but there is always a small voice in the back of my head that makes me doubt it, specifically because I have not "been" with anyone. And while I do think it that it's partly to do with me and my own issues I think the main reason I think that is of people or the stigma of "how do you know if you haven't tried" it's sad that we have to justify our identity through actual examples and experiences rather than people just believing and accepting it
Honestly as a pan women, I love the whole "sexually attracted to pans" jokes as long as I know they're coming from a good place and not someone who's panphobic
I'm so sorry, but my brain just let me think about an old lady who's laying and crying in a Walmart hall covering her ears in the cooking section where they keep the pans... (sorry for the bad grammar I'm still learning 🇩🇪)
Stereotypes that I’ve been told as a bisexual and have been told to my pansexual friends: _”So you just fall in love with anyone you see?”_ Let me ask you, *Barbara* , do you fall in love with every man you see on the street? No, I didn’t think so.
Im pansexual and I've ran into the "It's too confusing situation but actually for my pronouns. I identify as female but i use all pronouns, i told my friend and she was like, "Well like that's really confusing and i dont think anyone will be able to understand it" and me as a person who cant remotely risk hurting anyone's feelings just said "yeah i guess your right" and now im sad
Well, pronouns don't always equal gender. Pronouns can be used to refer to gender expression. Like, typically masculine=he/him, feminine=she/her, androgynous/neutral=they/them. Your gender expression could be fluid and still identify as female. I'm a non-binary transfemme who uses they/them, but my gender expression is androgynous leaning feminine. Heck, I wouldn't mind she/her pronouns. I mean, being called 'he/him' for 20 years doesn't really make me wanna be referred to as any pronouns, because then people will just use he/him because it's easier since that's what I've been called my whole life. Here's an example of how multiple pronouns work. "Gemini said that she went to the store to find pistachios for themself, but sadly the store was all out so she left." Or, "Gemini was told that they should always be themself, but when she came out to her mom, apparently being herself meant "harming thy temple" because they wanted to transition to be happy with themself and their body." It takes getting used to, but it's worth it.
@@geminiwolf0077 I really appreciate this. I've recently realized I'm nonbinary, possibly transmasc/genderflux/??? Idk yet, I'm still doing research and trying to determine what's correct for me. I desperately want to use pronouns other than "she/her" but I haven't come out yet and I'm in a similar boat to OP in that I hate making anyone else uncomfortable or asking someone to go out of their way to do something for me that I can live without. I don't think I could work up the courage to come out until I have a proper explanation prepared with examples and everything broken down so stuff like this really helps me get some of that sorted out and make sense to me, much less to someone I have to explain it to.
...yeah. I’m sorta in this comment :D I identify as bi, but beyond that eventually I just gave up trying to quantify things like preferences, types, ... because I just keep finding exceptions and does it really matter? I like people. Some of them might even like me back :P
How do you know if you’re pan or bi or Omni? I know the difference but how can you tell? To be clear I’m genuinely asking, I’m not trying to offend or invalidate anyone
I find things very funny sometimes when I remember there's an entire Greek God named Pan and he was the good of chaos and nature. WE ARE THE FOREST SPIRITS.
My problem being pansexual is that “pan” in my language (Spanish) means bread, so every time I say I’m pan to someone they’re like: “you feel attracted.... to bread?” and it’s very annoying 😩
When my daughter first came out to me a year or two ago, I get up one morning and see her quickly shuffling across the house towards the kitchen. It's her birthday and I'm trying to make plans with her, so I follow her and find her with her back to me standing among the boxes of cereal and cans of vegetables. She turns around looks at me and steps dramatically forward. " I am coming out of the pantry. " She had painted the pansexual flag on her cheeks with her sisters makeup, and was staring firmly at the ceiling to avoid breaking into giggles. She didn't come out of the cupboard, per se, but after I understood the punch she was making, it was very funny.
Lemme correct the door meme: Demisexual: Door is locked but the person first needs to have an emotional connection with someone to give the key to a person. Asexual: The door is locked but the person does not need the urge to open it. They preffer it being locked. Greysexual: Same as Asexuals, but they don't mind opening it once in a while.
Yeeee that works a lot better :D For aegosexual I’d say it like phantom opens and whoever it is like phases through the real door as like a ghosty thing as it opens Or something like that- Or maybe people not actually existent in your life can phases through but if they’re real they’re stuck on the other side Specifically for my bi demiro aego self I feel like it would be one of those half doors and it flips back and forth and then some people I can give the key to the top part but the bottom part only like fictional characters and unknown people in pictures and whatnot can phase through- Idk lol

For the demiromantic door thing, I think of it more as leveling up. Everyone starts on 0, and the more I get to know them, the more they level up. Once they get to the top level, they have the potential to be able to open the door, but even if they are at the top, they still might not be the right person, and will just remain a best friend.
Person: You're pansexual? Me: Yes. Person: What does that mean? Me: It means I am attracted to people regardless of their gender. Person: So you're attracted to everyone? Me who finds most people I meet physically attractive: Well no, but also yes.
Some of these were painfully accurate. When I came out, all my straight friends started acting awkward around me for ages, then they slowly phased out of it
When I explained the difference between pan and bi to my parents, they both independently asked "and furries?" To which I was like "no, that's not a gender, and regardless I am not attracted to anthro animals"
I remember a youtuber getting canceled a few years ago because he came out as pan and panphobes decided that "I'm attracted to anyone regardless of gender" = "I'm attracted to children and animals too"...
Once a classmate of mine asked the teacher what pansexuality meant. The teacher answered that it's when a person is obsessed with sex, and he completely ignored me when I tried to intervene... Needless to say, the pansexual in the class had much explaining to do that day.
Yeah, I’ve heard crap like that as well. At this point in life I would just look the teacher up and down and say “oh, well I must not be pansexual then. Cause you ain’t doing shit for me”, then at some point I’d probably clear up the misunderstanding with the classmate.
Yes. I hate that so much. Like i don't care at all what gender you are, if i like your personality and stuff like that then i like you! I don't understand why people don't get it. its not that complicated
Something you could say "Because usually attraction is mostly to looks, and people are either masculine, androgynous or feminine and to me it doesn't matter how they identify or what they have in their pants or anything. Also, say you are only attracted to men, how do you know? There are too many women and non binary people for you to know your attracted to none of them (using their own argument against them!)"
The discrimination and erasure within the LGBTQIA+ community is a huge shame. Bi erasure from gay people, pan erasure from bi people, trans erasure from "LGB", even nonbinary erasure among trans people. Visibility and validation helps, thank you so much Jamie
Yeah, I’m pan and the other day I was talking with my friends at school. I mentioned I’m pan and we were on the subject of bi and pan. I was trying to say how they are very similar because there are people I know that don’t abide by the only difference that I know between them. Like bi people I know like non binary people too and tbh that’s the only difference I know (if there are anymore pls do tell, I’m quite curious). But I said that «they are almost the same thing ». My friend, don’t know if she’s bi or lesbian, started getting really upset with me. I know I probably should have phrased it better, but she wouldn’t let me talk, correct myself, or anything. And then she started laughing at me and saying that’s the first time I ever raised my voice at her. I felt like I wish I never mentioned I was pan in the first place. I love her but she got really defensive and aggressive really quick. My chest still gets heavy with anxiety when I think about it. Sorry for the rant but I needed to let it out and release it off my shoulders
@@ellajulia162 im so sorry that happened!! both bi and pan are attraction to multiple genders. a lot of people recognise the difference as pan being attraction regardless of gender and bi being atrraction which still takes into account gender (ie with a preference). I hope this helps in some way :)

Why does sitting in a cupboard with a pansexual flag seem like a good idea- and why am I planning to come out that way- I really want to come out by holding a pan while sitting in the cupboard but my parents will think I’m crazy or something LMAO
One time I told someone I was pansexual, and they said "oh so you just are attracted to everyone?" and I just said, "some people. not you, for example." I didn't even mean to offend them but they looked really really shocked (I'm a quieter person so it was unexpected, I just tried to educate lol)
Quiet people do have good accidental zingers. Like my coworker talking about when she was a "skinny legend" and I respond with "you used to be skinny?". Good thing we're friendly and she took it well. ^_^; I didnt mean to sound savage.
When your panromantic and ace: "Well you can't be both, they contradict eachother." No they don't, pay attention to suffixes, go home Caitlin. Also my door would be like Revolving door that shuts off if someone tries to go through it the wrong way and turns into a wall.
Mine would be very similar. It would just have a few differences and some additions. My door would allow you to enter but you need to have a key and and some genders may have a little more trouble to get through than others but they definitely will! (Demi-omnirom aego ace) And if you try to enter without the key or just want some action the door turns into a wall
My best example of those stereotypes that I’ve encountered is my aunt cornering me and forcing me to come out. The convo went a bit like this: “so.. that girl you brought over... are you.. dating??” And I said yes so she immediately jumped into the “I knew you were a lesbian and that exboyfriend was just a phase!! I could tell!!” So I had to shut her down immediately to which she responded when I explained my pansexuality “we can get you therapy to help you choose a side.” I basically told her “No Cathy, that’s not how this works. I’m in my mid 20’s you can’t treat me like a child.” and walked out 😂😂😂
I'm still feeling that identity out; trying to figure out where my line between aesthetic appreciation and potential romantic attraction lands. I'm probably a little grey, as well, when it comes to sexual attraction in general. Related, I'm not sure if I'm exclusively sexually attracted towards women, or whether I haven't been in the right context to be attracted to an enby or a man. Sorry for ze long comment.
As a pansexual, i was so hyped to see this video up, and it was so cute how respectful and careful Jamie was about all of it, Love you fellow pansexuals! 😊
@@gender-fluidARMY Thats the problem though. Using us interchangeably with bisexuals makes us feel erased. When you do that it makes most of us not feel valid in our own skin. Bisexuals are their own thing, we’re similar but not the same thing. If you could can you just not use them interchangeably, because to some of us we’re pretty sensitive about it as pansexuals aren’t a widely known thing due to erasure like this. I know you probably aren’t doing it out of hate, but it does hurt even when there’s no malice behind it.
@@wynterfir nah, I kinda disagree. I’m pan and I think they can use whatever label fits them best. If they want to use pan and bi, they can do that. It just matters that they feel comfortable with the label they choose. Also, I don’t know if I’m wrong here (please correct me if I am) but I never saw a problem with pan erasure... wasn’t the problem that some people think being pan is bi erasure? I’ve never heard of it the other way around. I could be wrong tho, please tell me if I am.
@@wynterfir i dont think it’s pan erasure, I use the label pan because I feel more comfortable with that than the label bi, but if this person feels more comfortable with the two labels than let them be :) the labels are not interchangeable of course but what if someone was abrosexual and switched between gay, straight, bi, and Demi? Would the straight invalidate the gay? No, because that person is abrosexual and they can use all labels they identify with. Not saying Érica is abro, but i get the whole label thing and how using the ones that make you feel comfortable can help a lot, and it’s not really harming anyone in my opinion (yes I know about the battle axe bi’s and stuff but they’re not important)

@@hazelcalderbank1556 yes I know what demisexual means. My best friend since grade school is demisexual. I said what I said because demisexual is often regarded as on the asexual spectrum. Which is why the ___romantic language is also used for demi people. So for example, my best friend would be hetero romantic and demisexual. I'm not saying they can't use the terms pansexual and demisexual interchangeably to describe themselves, I'm just saying that's a confusing way to do it, considering there's already language to describe both of those things coexisting
@@hazelcalderbank1556 I guess another way to put it is that pansexual is a sexual attraction to people not dictated on gender, and demisexual is sexual attraction dictated by strong emotional connections. That would be the "official" name for what the OC is describing --- which is what I specified in my first comment. Not trying to be rude, just trying to clarify how I was misunderstood

...My initial reaction to this was feeling sorry for your friend for missing out on falling for a friend. XD

I’m pan, and non-binary, but have never been with another non-binary person, but I know I sure as Hell am attracted to non-binary people, especially if they’re very androgynous. I know what I like and I like it all, regardless of who I’ve actually slept with.
also to straight ppl, if you've never dated/been with anyone, how do you know you're straight?
I've always said I was Pansexual ever since I found out about it but there is always a small voice in the back of my head that makes me doubt it, specifically because I have not "been" with anyone.
And while I do think it that it's partly to do with me and my own issues I think the main reason I think that is of people or the stigma of "how do you know if you haven't tried" it's sad that we have to justify our identity through actual examples and experiences rather than people just believing and accepting it

Not saying Érica is abro, but i get the whole label thing and how using the ones that make you feel comfortable can help a lot, and it’s not really harming anyone in my opinion (yes I know about the battle axe bi’s and stuff but they’re not important)
me, a straight person: *makes puns*
pansexuals: *make pans*
they do
Im dyslectic and got so confused "it says the exact same thing wha-"
😂😂😂😂😂
I read the second line as "pansexuals: *make puns* " and I was like 'they shoulda said make pans lol' and then I read it again and put my face in my hands in shame
I don't know why but I feel like his hugs would feel like warm marshmallows
Wait u onto something
@@the-pan-potato3139 who wouldn't??
My favorite comeback is always "No just because I'm pansexual doesn't mean that you are attractive!"
As a pansexual and a demisexual, my brain just malfunctions whenever someone asks me my "type." For me, aesthetic attraction and physical attributes never have a role in choosing a partner or ruling one out. From now on, I just respond with "someone who's not an asshat."
?
How are you both? Wouldn't that be panromantic demisexual?🤨🤔🧐
@@sweetie_babie Demi means they're only attracted to people they have a strong emotional bond with, it doesn't specify the gender. Pan and demi together mean the attraction can form regardless of gender as long as the emotional bond exists, no contradiction at all. Apologies if I got anything wrong Kailey, please correct me if so.
Sexual attraction to people dictated by strong emotional connections but not on gender would be panromantic demisexual (or demi pansexual). That would be the "official" name for what the OC is describing --- which is what I specified in my first comment. Not trying to be rude, just trying to clarify how I was misunderstood
@@sweetie_babie Panromantic is about romantic attraction, not sexual attraction. Someone can be demisexual and pansexual, and besides that they could feel any type of romantic attraction. For example, if someone is pansexual, demisexual and aromantic, they'd have sex with any gender, as long as they have a strong bond with them, but they wouldn't want to be in a romantic relationship with them.
The one time I forgot my mom got PhD from Harvard - I was explaining to my mom what pansexual means and she actually didn’t make the “so you like pans” joke
I have a friend who is pan, she *kicked* the pantry door open, in Pansexual “drip” the flag, colors, ect. She screamed “IM PANSEXUAL MOM AND DAD!” Her parents didn’t even flinch, “That’s great sweetie, do you homework”
“As long it’s not hurting anyone/you, I don’t care.” I *died.*
💀✋🏻
At my coming out I was sobbing in the car and it was like:
Me : I'm Bi
Mom: OK and why are you crying?
Dad: no! That is not right and not God's will.
Me: starts crying
Mom: If you say that again, I'll personally call your Mother right now and you will have to explain her why your doughter is crying and why it's your fault!
Dad: But...
Mom: *calls his mother* [...] yeah he made her cry because she is in love [...]
Dad: I never meant to-
Grandma: You did what?! Apologize, now.
Dad: *apologizes* I would still rather see you with a boy
The end
literally my parents when I came out as asexual
lucky lol
Luckyyyy I’m too scared to come out as panromantic bc ofc I’ll tell my gay friends and straight ally friends but when I have crushes on ppl of same/other genders as me and they like me too then we’d have to be in a hidden relationship (´༎ຶ‿༎ຶ`) *sad panromantic child of most likely homophobic parents noises*
We are in the same boat but in different rooms. If we destroy one room, the gap takes us all down.
Finally some good pansexual content I feel like we're under appreciated sometimes
Well I appreciate you!! 😤 feel appreciated. Feel valid. And know that I need help figuring out if I’m bi or pan 💀💀
@@Ghosting.Iguess I think choose whatever feels most comfortable to you! I chose pan bc personally I feel uncomfortable with the label bi but some ppl even use both! so choose which you feel the best with :D (and it's fine if neither work for you too)
@@nariaein oh my god your so helpful 🤧 I think I will be both cause I’m just not sure. Everyone’s attractive (I am demisexual as well tho lmfao) and I’m not sure if I have a preference but I do know I relate to both bisexual and pansexual. Thank you for the help ^^
@@Ghosting.Iguess no problem, glad I could help :) keep going beautiful human!!
absolutely !! but if u want some pan rep watch trinkets one of the characters in the first szn is pansexual . plus it's a great show overall and the main character is lesbian
Not pan but obligatory "yes mom, this is just a phase that has endured for the last 17 of the 21 years I spent on this planet."
My mother said the same thing about my genetic blood disorder, both are equally rediculous.
More than 40 of my 63 years. Longest phase ever.
"oh youre divorced? Haha maybe your marriage was just a phase"
@@ZDragonimated even better, "haha lol you're divorced? it's just a phase, you'll marry again very soon for sure"
Even if it is a phase, phases are the building blocks of the person you will be. Whoever you are right now, you’re real
This is very true, 10/10 thing more people should realise
aw love this ty :,)
THE WAY THAT PPL SAY "are you attracted to pans" and beong so CALM I JUST CAN'T
"What's your type?"
Good boys, clever/bratty boys, blonde athletic girls, femme girls, soft people in general.
I identify as bi, and I never understood the idea that everyone has just one "type." Sooo many different kinds of people are attractive.
"But you haven't been with all genders how can you know?"
Also as an Asexual person, I've been asked this, mostly by cis men, the kind that think they can turn a lesbian straight by sleeping with her.
Ask them how they can know they’re straight if they’ve never slept with a man 😭
"Yes, I'm pansexual, No, this doesn't mean that I'm into you".
This meme summarizes why I ironically made My Type by Saint Motel my theme song, cause "you're just my type, you've got a pulse and you're breathing" 🎉
yeah like I like all genders but that doesn't mean I wanna date every single person I see.
I do have a type and for us to date there shall be emotional connection
As a pansexual, I once tried to describe my ideal spouse and when it came to gender I stood there with my mouth open until I almost swallowed a bug 🙃
I'm not pan, I'm a lesbian, but for a while I identified as pansexual (because of the whole comphet thing 😐), and I heard a lot of "that's just bi", "so you're bi?" "you're just greedy/horny", and other stuff that really ticked me off.
You guys are so so valid! These are dumb things people say when they don't understand, only you have a say in your identity :)
It is just bi though.
"You haven't been with all genders"
And you haven't been with anyone so your point?
DAAAANGGGG
Also i was ur 69th like 😉
OOOH
Ace people: precisely.
As a GreyAce/ASpec person, my door description is "the wall sometimes has a door... But it exists in its own plane of space and time so only makes itself known as it pleases. There is no timetable, there is no key. This is a door not bound by anything. The door has its own free will."
I felt that...
This is such a cool way of describing it!
And when you see it for the first time, you have a double take and go "wtf, has there ALWAYS been a door here? wait, am I sure it's actually a door??"
Stranger things
As a fellow grey-ace, I can relate. I'm also Panromantic so I guess the door you described would be the same thing but a revolving one for me.
My favourite Pansexual Meme is the Clip of Ranboo saying Pan while hitting a Pan.
me just saying "I don't care, I like all kinds of people" when ppl ask my sexuality bc saying pan is an exhausting explanation process
It's the same for me
I'm bi and trans, but damn the pan and ace flags are beautiful. So aesthetically pleasing!
thanks, and your flags(bi and trans)are so goddamn beautiful also UvU.
I'm pan and I like the bi flag way better *cries*

"but you weren't together with that gender yet, how would you know you're pan?"
Me with my comeback: well, you were always single and never had a partner, so how would you know you're straight?
Me who’s had a boyfriend, a girlfriend and an unlabeled gender partner...
Nooo, you've got it all wrong! Pansexuals don't come out of the cupboard
