Cars don't need 90% of the features on this Mustang like dynamic cruise, lane departure, or collision warning. All it does is drastically increase the price of cars for features any good driver does not need. Sadly, if the Mustang didn't have these features car reviewers would complain head over heals about the lack of "tech". Now that this Mustang has the features, car reviewers complain about the price! Unbelievable...
You know they should probably make a variation with just the engine upgrades and none of the redundant tech and make it less expensive and name it something
If they would've added the 401a package with the LCD cluster (major selling point of 18 mustang) the plastic parts he mentioned are all softened with leather inserts.
If there was no plastic and cars were made out of steel today, they would rust faster, not look so bright and shiny like plastic does and reflects alot..
Thing drives me nuts is people complain about the interior of this thing. It'll run an 11 second quarter mile from the factory!! And then they say a M3 which costs 30 grand more has a better interior...well, no shit. Though they neglect to mention the repair bills on the BMW when it's out of warranty and that 5.0 coyote is still howling along.
bmw has one of the worst reliability records. i have 335d e92 and the thing is a nightmare....it feels like chinese made in terms of under the hood components...
My Dad told me the story of why he didn't buy a Mustang in 1966. He was going to the dealership to purchase one when my Mom told him that she was preggers. My Dad thought he would do the responsible thing and get a "family car" which meant he bought the Fairlane 500. So I missed out on the Mustang back then but my Dad and I talked about buying one over the many years since. He passed earlier this year after a brief illness that caught us all by surprise. He left me some money which gave me the option of finally getting that elusive Mustang. This video sums up why I love this iconic Pony Car. If one car could sum up what is great about America, it is the Mustang. I looked at several Mustangs but I just couldn't bring myself to buy one. The Mustang isn't a practical daily driver for me and it doesn't come cheap. So I reluctantly passed on the 'Stang and bought a Kia Soul Exclaim with the Turbo. The Turbo 4 puts out more horsepower (201) than many of the V-8 Mustangs of my youth (70s - 80s) and the V-6 Mustangs through 2004. So that will have to be my substitute in this lifetime unless I hit the lottery. That's when I skip the GT and go order up the GT500 with all of the bells & whistles.
I always turn to look at a GT on the streets, it still looks awesome. Best looking American car! I’m waiting on Chevy to redo a modern version of the 1970 Camaro.
I’ve been a dodge and Chevy guy but am thinking of grabbing a 5.0 mustang. They have finally joined the others. Fords been really impressing me recently. My wife has a twin turbo edge sport and it competes with my mothers BMW X6. Obviously the BMW is more refined but I got more options and have a bit more speed than the X6.
I’m surprised this one here costs that much. I found a pp2 at a dealer basically full loaded with the same price. It also has a nicer interior as well.
One HUGE thing missing from the review, which is no mention of MAJOR problems with the manual transmissions. It’s well documented that the shift forks are breaking because they switched from steel to aluminum. You can find multiple videos and articles on this online and there is a 3+ month wait time for a replacement transmission (still using the aluminum, not steel forks). Do the public justice and mention these things in your reviews instead of making the mustang sound so wonderful.
There is an option for a premium interior your sample car didn't have. Then it would have had the soft touch console. (Note their car didn't have the full digital dash that is bundled with the soft touch interior)
I'm not sure what option package it is but that middle piece of plastic you complained about is SUPPOSED to be soft touch for 2018... no idea why that one is not
