    It's worth it and you'll get most of that back when it comes time to trade it in. Same with the performance pack and 401A package. Also regarding the 401A, you can only get it on a premium so if you're going Premium absolutely get it, for the option cost it's a steal and gives you the digital gauges, navi, dynamic cruise control, and improved interior. Aftermarket the digital gauge cluster alone is $2000+.

    I have my 2015 gt base model, and I’ve loved every second of it. It’s only recently that I’ve been wondering if I should’ve got the premium, but in my opinion not worth it. My buddy’s got one and I feel like I’m not missing out. You get over all the nice features and it all goes back to the way the car drives.

    Thank you for your honesty, brother. I purchased a 2019 GT-p, I'm not really sure I need all of the onboard gadgets. Generally not a leather person, but NOW I have a canine copilot and clean ups are a matter of a simple vacuuming. The digital cluster is nice as well as many other purchased options, but I just don't know if I'd purchase new again...

      Since this is a mustang video, I bet you fall under the second category. Very rich people don’t buy the mustang GT, even if they do they most certainly get the premium package without thinking if it’s worth it or not.

    Your comment about the $5k difference between the base and premium trims made me curious so I just looked. The Ecoboost models are right at $5k difference between the base and premium trims. The GT's are only $4k difference, so get the V8 if you want the premium trim! ;-)
    I bought a 2016 GT convertible used. Obviously, that's automatically a premium trim but I would have opted for the premium anyway. I really like the Sync 3 interface, larger touch screen, etc. Plus there are certain other option packages I really wanted that are only available on the premium trims. I totally agree with you about the seats. Given the option, I would have picked the cloth seats. The leather is ok, but not great in my opinion. Also, given the option, Ford can keep that fully automatic AC. Again, it's ok for the most part but I'd rather just have the manual AC. In the long run, it's a lot less "stuff" to go wrong and sometimes, it seems to get confused as to when it needs to blend heat. My other car is a 2013 Toyota Rav4. It also has a fully automatic AC system but it's head and shoulders better than what's in my Mustang.

    Liked your review. I'm in that situation right now regarding base vs performance. I wanted automatic (at least your wife ok'd the stick). I also wanted active exhaust, Magne-Ride Damping, all driver assistance systems. Also toying with the B/O 10 speaker HD Radio. Some of our most memorable arguments over 50 years of marriage, has been over adjusting the thermostat. She's tiny (4'11"), and is ALWAYS cold. I'm just the opposite. So, you know how that goes (I walk around the house in just a pair of shorts). If you look around, this car is pretty well priced either way, and there's always stuff you get that you don't really want when you start buying packages. What do you think of the Shaker system vs B/O? Also, does the active exhaust really make an auditory difference? Other than the black, did you consider any other color, blackout kits, striping, etc.?

  • @renedelafuente123
    @renedelafuente123 Рік тому

    Bought a 2015 mustang gt black on black with some performance package on it. It has the bar over the engine bay, gauge cluster over the radio, upgraded brake system and larger radiator. Doesn't have the shaker system, one speaker per door, no subwoofer and only 6 speakers. Have been saving money trying to find the right one for a while so I went with this one for 28,500 cash. Certified used car from the dealership so I thought this was a good buy. Had to make a trip to Plano, Tx. with a buddy though to go pick it up, which is about 8 hours away one way from where I live. Work at a shitty job that don't pay enough so saving money is very hard especially with this economy right now. After researching a lot of mustang gt's online, there's something wrong with it if its under 25 g's. It either has too much mileage on it, or it has a salvage or rebuilt title, 2 things which I tried to avoid. Also if gt had been owned by 3 or more different people that's a negative according to a salesman I talked to. Don't really know why but that's what he told me. Anyway thanks for the video, gave u thumbs up.

    New owner of a 2015 V6 here. I window-shopped for a year and didn’t consider buying a base model until later in the game when I realized that I could add on the things I wanted in the premium models for less money and actually tailor it to my tastes. Now, that differs from person to person and I realize that we’re comparing a GT to a V6. Still, I love this video and the thought process.

    The biggest difference is that the PP1 and PP2's come with 373 Gears which will rip the 355's that the Base comes with.. If you are getting a manual it automatically comes PP1 because the manual Benefits Greatly from the 373's over the 355's.. If you have the 10 speed then you will want the 355's more than likely.. The 373 manual will rip a 355 manual in a quarter mile also the PP1 and PP2's come with beefier sway bars struts, strut brace, and staggered wheels.. I could care less about the tech, I'm old.. LOL. Unless you add a PP, the only difference between the Premium and the Base versions are the luxury added extras and media options. The only minor performance difference is with then toggles changing modes. It's a very slight change and not worth the upgrade price if you don't care about the other stuff. I got a stock GT and modded it for performance. I couldn't care less about leather seats and stuff like that. Oh, you can add the PP to a base model as well if you choose to do so.

      Drove the 2021 gt with all the options brand new at twice the price and I really don't see what all the fuss is about on the 10 speed.

    Got my 2017 GT Premium with Performance Pack and 401A with Ruby Red paint and Painted Black Roof for $30,000 with only 5,500 miles. The previous owner also had the $1600 Ford performance by Borla cat back installed.
    Only issue is now I have a super loud tick that increases with RPM like the so called 2k rattle, embarrassingly loud so I brought it to the dealer and the tech says the noise seems to go away when he deactivates cylinder #3 so now they want it for "a few weeks" on November 25th..... here we go.

    It's Def worth the money for the PP1. What you are showing is the PP2 I believe. You get a bigger Rad/Better cooling, Staggered wheel's/Bigger wheel's and tire's, But most importantly (The 373's Rear/gearing which are the star of the show), better brakes and handling too. Beefier sway bar along with a Strut Brace, And it matter's...

    This video makes me miss my 15 ecoboost premium. I had just about everything on it except gps and the performance package. Really great car. As far as I know, the mustang is the only one, one of the only cars, with heated and cooled seats. Others might have ventilated seats, but not cooled seats. Always felt like I was sitting in a cold puddle though, lol. I love leather seats. Get them in any car I have. I build up a stupid amount of static electricity, especially in the winter, and for whatever reason, leather seats don’t do that for me. Wish I could’ve kept that car. 😩 Whoever bought it definitely got a good deal.
    What’s your thoughts about the rotary gear shifter? I’m not a fan of them at all.

    • @DayneLeBlanc
      @DayneLeBlanc  4 роки тому +1

      That’s awesome! Yeah it’s definitely a super nice place to sit. Makes it feel like a lot more expensive car. As far as the shifter in the new gt500, I kinda dig it. The gt500 has always been a special car and should have some special quirks, I imagine a manual version will pop up eventually, but that dual clutch on paper looks pretty stout!

      Brothers On Wheels Wow I’m surprised! It seems weird to turn a knob instead of shifting back to drive. Maybe it’s not as weird to use as it looks, lol. I can’t drive a stick shift, so automatic is my only option. If I ever get another chance to own a mustang, I definitely look forward to it. I had a lot of fun with that car!!

    I’m about to buy a 2018 gt pp. I hate leather as I live in Vegas and it’s 100 degrees half the year. The only thing I wish they offered was cloth with the 8” screen but it’s pretty easy to swap it for 3-500$. Along with upgrading the sound

    • @rembo183
      @rembo183 4 роки тому

      J C- Yep probably some great discounts on the leftover 2019 New Base GT cars with cloth so better in that climate. Nice with manual and cloth and other stuff unnecessary. A base GT with the PP1 option package and manual is Best Buy. Less tech means less maintenance and repairs because it’s the electrical and software tech that causes most issues later on.

  • @That_AMC_Guy
    @That_AMC_Guy 4 роки тому

    I saw the Premium Package as just more things to go wrong. A buddy has a 2015 Premium and his puddle lamps aren't ponies anymore - they're just amorphous blobs of light. The leather is not of very good quality. I compared my buddies' leather to the leather in my 2004 Tiburon and .... the Tiburon is thicker material, softer and just feels better. His seats are already starting to come apart while the Tib being 16-years old and a quarter million kilometers later has one split seam.
    SatNav is pointless if you're like me and live in a rural area and I did not see the value in the satellite radio either. Not to mention, what happens when Ford decides to change the way the satellite works or something like that? Now your fancy radio is useless.
    I actually eschewed the Performance Pack, though occasionally I do regret that. My reason being my car will never see the track, and I don't want to have to pay MORE for coolant changes or brake replacement. I should have taken the 3.73 Torsen upgrade..... my dealer offered it to me for FREE as the factory had a surplus but....
    I still think I got a win as mine is a 2016. I got my Deep Impact Blue which was NOT an extra-cost color in '16, and my groovy 1-year-only hood turn signals basically for free, since there was no price hike from '15 to '16.

  • @NorthernBuffalo
    @NorthernBuffalo 3 роки тому +1

    In my opinion, the 2020 Mustang GT-P is WAY worth the price if ONLY for the digital dash. That thing is killer and I absolutely love it. If you went to get the aftermarket one, its $2k. So maybe you dont care about a bigger stereo screen or leather seats and you wanna do the dash on your own. Either or.

    • @SirenS550
      @SirenS550 3 роки тому +1

      You mean NOT worth the price. You could save the 5-7k that the dealers markup for a premium and just buy the $1500 aftermarket screen. User 2018 premiums are like 35k or more vs the base model at 26-28k rn

    There’s no need for the whole screen and digital dash. If you’re getting a mustang, it’s because of the amazing coyote engine and how fun it is to drive. You guys will save thousands of you just get a base. Plus with those thousands saved you can do after market stuff. Exhaust have to be changed too, so don’t get active exhaust, it’s a waste of money.
