My printer is a Brother HL-L2360DW laser printer. It prints in black and white....I forgot to mention the brand and model in the video.

Thank you for all help. It’s great. Can’t wait to try this
I would LOVE to make this for my my parents 40th wedding anniversary present! I can’t wait for the link to this quilt once finished ! Thank you for sharing this!
this would make a LOVELY tribute quilt!!
Lisa Capen Quilts thank you Lisa, I agree! I just purchased the pattern and am very excited to get to sewing!! This will be my first quilt alone. I’ve always done quilting with my late grandmother. Thank you again! You are so extremely helpful:):) I don’t feel so alone with your tutorials! 💗
Honey Bee Works Studio that's what I ♡ about UA-cam, it brings people together!
Lisa Capen Quilts yes absolutely!! :):)
This video is great! You're so organized and your instructions are very clear.
Thank you so much Jaylene!
You are a very good teacher!
Wow! Thank you :)
Well...I found people who will print my photos on fabric for me on Etsy. Since I probably won't do this but once or twice, this works better for me (I got rid of my computer equipment years ago! Including my old inkjet printer, and with no internet connection anymore, I just breeze along on my phone....). But I love photos and if I ever do get digitally connected with lots of equipment, I could do my own. But not today! 🤗 I love your videos and esp. the one about Goodwill Outlet shopping for fabric (shirts, jeans, t-shirts) and assorted odds and ends like little baskets etc.
that goodwill trip was SOOOOO much fun :) I actually like your idea of outsourcing the photos printed on fabric!!!
This is such a beautiful idea!❤️nice job!
Could you use a toothbrush to help with the fringing?
Did you ever upload the rest of this quilt being made? I was so ready to see the final project. I love this. I have never quilted... EVER. Lol. But i am very inspired by you to try😍😁
Hi Megan, I did :) Here is the link for the quilt: ua-cam.com/video/oRo3DZEo3TUI/v-deo.html'm so glad the video gave you some inspiration to give quilting a try! I really think you'd enjoy it a lot
When you click on the link for the finished project it says Page not found. Please help I am so looking forward to seeing the finished project
Dear Lisa. I was so impressed by your quilt on transferring photo onto fabric. I truly would like to make a small quilt ( wall hanging ) of my husband. He just recently passed away this May due COVID. So in his memorial, I want to make one of him with the kids and I. If you please be so kindly, inform me of what is the best items I need so that it could last a long time. May God bless you and your family. God has blessed you with a beautiful talent. Looking forward to your reply. Stay safe. May the Peace of Christ abide in your heart.
This is a fantastic video. I love that you have experimented with a laser printer. We just recently got one, so I can't wait to do a tester mug rug and see how it goes!! Thanks for taking the time to share your tested knowledge of both printing methods!
You are very welcome, have fun!!
What a wonderful idea. You are an awesome teacher! Do you have a book on your quilting? I love watching your UA-cam videos
Hi Sue, thank you so much! I don't have any books, just the videos at this time :)
Excellent instructions.. Thanks
Thanks for watching :)
Great video!! Thank You so much 😊
Glad you enjoyed it!
Super video. I loved it. Great details Thank you
thank you Judy!
Thank you Lisa this is a big help.
good, I am glad :)
You are amazing!
Nice thank you for all the ideas
My pleasure!
have you ever used Print and Cut heat transfer vinyl to print and iron print onto a fabric block to use in quilt ?
I've used heat vinyl on t-shirts before, not on quilt blocks.....but I'm liking that idea!!
Hi Lisa. I know this is an old tutorial, but how would you quilt the photo part of the quilt? It is going on a bed. Thank you.
Hi, I enjoyed your tutor session, question..i'm wanting to start a home business in this type quilt making with photos, Does the print have to be a fabric print printer or can i just use a standard ink jet printer?
hi donna, thanks for watching! if you are starting a business, I highly recommend sublimation printing on fabric as the results are far better quality. I have some videos on my channel all about this if you want to check them out :)
Thank you 😊
coffee filters great idea!!
I can't claim that as my own idea however I absolutely love using them and sharing the info tidbits :)
I would always heat set because after years of hanging things get dusty and need to be washed
I have a question, can one go into publisher and add a frame or flowers around a picture and print that out?
Please post a PDF of your instructions. Thank you!
have you ever tried just using the copier instead of downloading a picture or design. i personally don't have a scanner that i can scan older photographs so that i can download then send them to my printer. And my computer and printer aren't always on good talking terms. Somoetimes out of the blue, a few days or even a couple of weeks later my printer will just start printing things i sent to it. tell me that soesn't scare the bejesus out of you, when in the middle of the night the printer just starts up and starts printing random stuff you have already forgotten about!! i don't actually use it enough to justify getting another one though. and the copier part works great.
Thank You for all the information. What name of fabric do you use? Do you still use Colorfast? Your ideas a great for dressing up a photo. Can't wait to see this quilt done. Is it going to be a big quilt or a quilt you hang on the wall?
This quilt is going to be 14 x 30", so a smaller wall quilt :) I hardly ever use the colorfast sheets unless doing a quilt for a client and then I get the hubby to print color photos on his ink jet and I use the colorfast sheets. I will look at the brands of fabric next time I go as I forget the names of my favorites yet know them by sight hahaa
Are your sheets with the i fo available to print?
Thank you for this. I have a question. Do all these tips apply to "writing as well as image" printing? I would like to print poems, sayings, etc. on fabric. Do these tips apply with this? Thanks.
StickykidStudios yep, any type of graphics, script, writing, pictures etc :)

Hey Lisa....question....I need to know what you do to make sure your laser images stay on or in the fabric. I have only done once so far but have through many cold water washes lost most of my graphic I printed on muslin on my black and white laser printer. I have gotten a new color laser to make these images using freezer paper and just do want to make sure the immages hold. HELP!!!
I like a small printer for pictures colors low cost printer with out a computer
Can u use freezer paper for the frame around pic?
The video is full of great ideas . Thank you
can I know your sewing machine brand
Hello, thanks for watching! I am using a Singer Patchwork machine in this video :) Great machine, I love it!
Can you do mother and child one love to get one made for my daughter with her 2year old boy for christmas thank you
Do you do all different "frames" around photos in one quilt? Or all the same?
Depends on the quilt I'm working on....sometimes I do all the same....sometimes different for each :)
I prewash everything. I’ve seen too many tears after a quilt made with no prewash....shrinkage and bleeding. I’d rather deal with those BEFORE quilt sewn together?
So my son printed the photos on to colorfast. Followed how to do. Now I just use them as my big blocks and stitch my borders around I don’t need to put another pc of fabric behind that. Should I wash my quilt fabrics first
I think you get the best results when printing on fabric, if you do pre-wash the fabric first
I am fairly new to this but I would like to start getting into this, and wanted to know if there is a way I can print something big on a sheet for the bed
I would go to Spoonflower if I wanted to print out something really big :)
thank you
my pleasure!
What is the model of the brother printer you use?
The model number is in the description box of this video :)
Hi Lisa, did you freehand that frame template, and/or are you aware of a program or website that will allow you to easily draw and print one a specific size, etc? Would Word do that? I'm adding a photo to this mini-quilt I'm making. Thanks in advance!
I use inkscape for all my designing needs. I have videos on how to use the program and it is a free program.
@@TheQuiltmakerHomestead Thanks so much for the quick response! I'm checking out their tutorials now. I experimented a bit yesterday doing it freehand--my results sure LOOK like they were done that way, which is not the look I'm going for. 🤦♀ 😉 Will post my finished product soon on the FB Creative Crew. I am making a mini-quilt by following both this video and your Friendship Star video. Thanks again! ❤
Does Office Depot does the photo printing on fabric like you talk about??
hmmmmm.....I'm not sure, you might can call them and see :)
Do I need a specific camera to take good quality photos?
I do think a better camera will give you a better result.......although with today's technology I've gotten some really great quality pictures with my cell phone. Resizing will change the quality of your photo, so keep that in mind :)
I am shopping for an ink jet photo printer and they all have such bad reviews! I would like to print on prepared fabric sheets, sometimes even with freezer paper, but I have a MacBook and it has to be compatible. So many reviews show issues with the printers not working! Can you or someone recommend a good ink jet printer? I imagine it must feed straight on from the top if using fabric sheets? Thanks
I have heard some great reviews on Epson printers......maybe watch some reviews on those and see???
Do all photos have to be the same size? They will be put on the fabric sheets and they will be the same size. But does the actual photo have to all be the same size? I would appreciate hearing from someone. It is a real dilemma. Thanks
No they don't have to be
i crochet quilts so i just want to add my picture to it
Do have a video on making a film strip with photos Thanks
No sorry ♡♡
I've been waiting for this video!! LOL
I hope that you find it helpful in some way :)
How can I get durable pictures on PJs without using transfer paper. I want lasting picture
I would have someone sublimate the pictures and sew them on the pj's. More than likely the pj's are cotton but if by chance they are 60% polyester then you could sublimate directly on them.
Tried going to your FB page. We need to "log in" with a password??
I'm thinking the only reason it would ask you to do that is because you are not already logged into your own Facebook account. Otherwise it should work :)
how can you put photos on fabric on crochet square quilt
can you help me with this
This is something I have not done, so unfortunately I'm unable to help ♡
Ok thanks
How would you quilt a photo quilt ?
I usually do a stitch in the ditch around the photo, however I have quilted a meandering stitch through the photos as well, depending on the quilt
Your lace would have looked better if you had mitered the corners and zigzagged over the diagonals.
👍👏👏👏👏👏👏
Is it a company online that let's you upload your photos onto a quilt, I don't sew!
maybe Shutterfly??? Not sure :)
I have a Canon photo printer. Very expensive. Takes EIGHT inks. Terrible results. One photo ok, second had eyes printed on the forehead! Next printed all in green!
Sorry, can’t keep watching your hand movements.
My videos are not for everyone, and that's okay....happy new year!
get a laser pointer, your hands have made me crazy!
😔
