Wow, what thorough book review. Thank you for the details you highlighted for us. Your review convinced me to add this book to my collection.

Very cool technique! Never thought a somewhat large mosaic grid could result in such a detailed final product! 🤯

I do like your book reviews, and other videos too. This may be one of the more complex quilting techniques of late, not something my grandmother would have thought to do. I wonder if you have made such a quilt, and if Timma Tarr has produced a video doing one. The smaller the squares, the more work is involved and the more respect the product commands, no? Grandmother Nellie could have respected that. Keep on quilting.

I haven't tried this technique - yet but I know that Timna has a video course on Creative Spark Online (C&T Publishing's learning platform).

Just a hop and a skip across the pond 😉 I have online classes and do ZOOM presentations as well so you can learn from me no matter where you are in the world. And then there is my private online membership, The Quilter's Way, where I have members from all over the world. You can find details on it at www.chatterboxquilts.com/mpqs.

I have her book. After reading it I was too intimidated to try the projects. Great book, however.

I think you could just take it step by step and it would work okay. Start with a very simple photo and a limited number of fabrics/colours. You can do it!

Does she 1/4 inch seam all these little pieces together like a regular quilt?

The simple answer is yes but she explains the entire process in detail in the book.
