    Once your adrenals are that shot, it takes time to build them back up.low doses of pantothenic acid and Vit C are needed to help them heal along with some lifestyle changes. TLC needed. Great advice to not ignore the body and try to push through exercising.

    Vancouver born but Albertan through school yrars..but in and out of. BC. .miss hone painfully...i cry going the mountain but the ocean feels like home. Its the place i associate with both freedom and my safe place... Recently returned after a traumatic situation to restore and reconnect ...found my need to pay attention to the earths cycles to remember how to breathe properlyhaving been dealing with levels of ptsd for as long as i can remember..recalling at 12 wanting off this earth... That confidered suicidal? ..
    These videos by you Irene in specific has been a huge help in finding my place , to connect to the now and here. You've clearly been manifested by those who prayed as long as i have for the need to feel understood...and real...and strong..and coherent.
    So much love and light from me is shared with you in gratitude, as i share your name with others who i love on the levels i'm now learning I've been trying to love myself.
    "Self care is how you take your power back"... Is the phrase that propelled into verbing the love i nouned but only survived because i believed existed but illusive.
    Mercury in pisces im not an assertiive by nature..it felt angry for so long...i refuse to play the "Who can be the biggest asshole" my family likes to play with the sensitives as emotions are concidered amusing. I appreciate interactions that theres no losers ,in my life.
    Fibro, ptsd being constants since 24. Been wondering if theres a cycle these traumas work through chakras... This relevant in helping me connect to a sence of self or possibly stepping into another perspective but from a 'still me' but with different 'eyes' from chosen centered chakras..?

    Irene, you ask elsewhere whether some of us didn't see this Q&A - I started watching and stopped around 20 minutes in (no idea why), and don't appear to have seen the whole till now. I wish I had seen the discussion of how to handle this pandemic (but I've seen it now, and it's great). I saw the Aunty Mulara film from something Seth Lyon (your hubby) shared. And yes, in the UK we're encouraged to go outside for exercise, and to keep our distance from others while we're doing it. But I can stand under a tree and enjoy it! I wake up each morning feeling as if I've been crying (crying is an issue for me), so I'm trying to mother my inner child about it.

    My PMS has improved tremendously when I did the Voo-Aaah exercise during an irritable episode! I directed the Voo-Aah to the person (my mother lol) who was causing my irritability. Afterwards my PMS symptoms disappeared. I do it when any symptoms flare up, but they rarely do anymore!!

      @@IreneLyon I am afraid I and my close ones don't belong to those well enough to work efficiently and consistently with ourselves alone yet. We are too isolated, and too affected in the now. I know we could co-operate, but they don'rt seem to believe me and to want it. We are probably too close in trauma-knots and need someone outside to help us. I feel torn apart by wanting to heal myself and not wanting to leave them abandoned in sickness. In my country, there don't seem to be real trauma-therapist, at least not wanting to help me, or accessible to me.
      I can't seem to get better without first having all the various help I need to get well, because I have often been abandoned and accused of managing , being really good at doing good things. They say I manage, although they know I don't and see my bent back. This messes me up, that they lie so i get more unsure and unable to know whom to trust how far and to be labilely calm.
      The Somatic experiencing therapist I went to was really bad: after agreing on the phone, she in reality just wanted to do excercises-techniques with me, where I need(ed) more intimate, bodily-soully supportive treatment, maybe also massage, stroking, non-expectant embrace..
      Thank you for the humming part; I have suspected for decades that it may be connected to trauma, but not heard of it by anyone else...

    Does whistling work too, or does it have to vibrate in your throat?

    • @teamlyon3109
      @teamlyon3109 2 роки тому

      Hi Kathryn Willette, Jen here from Team Lyon. Whistling can help too - making sound generally can be quite helpful, as can singing - and it will likely have a different impact than the more vibratory sounds. You might play with it yourself and see what you notice. Sometimes the differences can be quite subtle, sometimes more noticeable.

    QUESTION: I'm feeling through a lot of terror at the moment, but it seems it's shifting really really slowly , so I go into frustration because I know those things seen through the terror aren't true, but it's still coming up even though I feel like I've been feeling it for the last few months or so when this started to come up. I wonder if you can let me know if this is normal or am I doing something wrong? I wonder if I'm resisting feeling it at times, or I'm just feeling it so that it's not there anymore, which isn't fair towards it.
    I guess I just want to know if it is normal that it takes time? especially because this terror comes from developmental trauma where there was consistent everyday being told 'that's dangerous, this is dangerous, etc' where you're made to feel incapable of doing anything. I'm seeing improvements about going out in the outside world, but not much around small things which is where the trauma was mostly.

    • @IreneLyon
      @IreneLyon  Рік тому +1

      Stek K., Jen here from Team Lyon. Feeling a lot of terror can be intense for sure. You did mention that you're noticing things shifting, so it may be a matter of time. And yes, it does often take time to shift long-standing patterns, especially when we have a history of early trauma.
      Sometimes too we may need to take steps to grow nervous system capacity and focus on doing so as much (if not more) than feeling the feelings for a while.
      Making space for the frustration may also be important. In this nervous system work frustration is a form of what we call "healthy aggression", and the fact that you're noticing this may be a sign of growing capacity. I'll link to a few of Irene's resources related both to growing capacity and to working with Healthy Aggression.
      If you're drawn to this work, you might also check out Irene's 21 Day Nervous System Tune Up. The is a self-study course that you can start any any time, and it can be a great way to learn basic nervous system education and practice.

      @@IreneLyon Thank you, it makes sense. Especially on the frustration, it really connectsto the anger I feel too sometimes. I work with a SEP one on one and I've watched most of Irene's videos :) thanks for the links though. I was/am confused about what my system is doing, because after each session it's as if things get rearranged but if you look at it overall, it always seems the same. SMaybe the trigger moves from one area to another, but it's always the same terror. In session we thought it could be compensation, bc the terror is still there but it feels like there's more to that, like the system is figuring out things. What do you think? Yes it seems it's a matter of time.

    how can heal derealization and anxiety

    • @teamlyon3109
      @teamlyon3109 3 роки тому

      HI Joe Niati, Jen here from Irene's Team. With trauma, the nervous system often overuses survival physiology which can lead to the experiences you describe. As we learn to heal trauma and grow nervous system regulation and capacity, we also typically grow access to the ability to simply feel okay, or even peaceful, when in the absence of threat. This is what Irene teaches, through her free education as well as her paid course and program. If you haven't yet seen her free Healing Trauma video series, I'd suggest starting there. I'll also link to a few free resources that might be of helpful.
