i was waiting for this response to the response. ( confusing i know ) but the completionist claimed innocence the same way sam bankman fried did. without going in to crypto crime, basically he said it was an accident, and that those who question accidents are bad people, and that he is still a charity genius. problem is tho.....sam lost his case. you can say you didnt know something for 10 years, but if you steal for 10 years and say oops, and then return the stolen goods....that still makes you a criminal.

Jirard's "response" video is now at 19k upvotes vs 60k downvotes... The guy is clearly way out of touch with reality if he thought that video was going to save him. It's funny how scared/desperate he sounds in the Discord call with Karl/Mutahar around 19:57 in the video vs the total façade he puts on in his manipulative response. He has to know he dug himself even deeper into a hole and that nothing he says can save him at this point, but I really hope he puts out another response so the saga can continue and we can watch him fall even further. I got a huge kick out of watching Billy Mitchell's inevitable demise and I'd enjoy watching this guy get wrecked just as much.

Dude just full on assumed all of the documents Jirard linked were relevant to the situation and covered his ass, without actually looking at or at the very least properly interpreting any of them. Way too many people are prone to just hearing something and being like "yep, that fits my worldview so, it checks out" without ever validating any of it.
Many of Jirard's fans just wanted him to not be guilty of charity fraud, and so when he did literally nothing more than say "I'm not guilty", to them it confirmed their bias, and they were all like "see??". And unfortunately this is an all too common phenomenon.

That's why these things should be handled in court, where lawyers and judges can actually spend time going over all the evidence, arguing back and forth in an environment that is set up for that, and come to the truth.
To be clear I absolutely believe Karl in this situation, he makes good points and completionist's video had many red flags and signs of manipulative behaviour, but at the end of the day, getting spoonfed information by either side isn't gonna lead to a satisfying conclusion in situations like these

To be fair, donating the organs of peopel suffering from illnesses and diseases is a real practice. And you don't get paid for it, at least I don't think so.
The reason it's not SUPER common is that people don't like that their loved ones aren't as whole as possible when they bury them. Same reason we don't like our loved ones to not be buried at all.
Its not really an indication of someones moral character either way though. At least in this scenario. Assuming his mother didn't want her body donated, which most people dont, him donating them is about as morally ambiguous as you can get.

Crazy to think that this statement perfectly fits to describe politicians: "This is about raising awareness that this type of people exist. There are people out there who don't care if people lie. They don't care if the audience is manipulated and abused, as long as they are within this small group who ultimately benefits. You need to be very wary of those who comes with a smile, because they are not always genuine, and if you are not careful, you will eventually fall victim."

The worst part about the legal threat, is that even if one were to take all of the defense Jirard laid out in his response video at face value (completely undeserved at this point, of course) he's basically admitted that Karl and Muta were only wrong because they were missing some hidden information about a public charity. That's not disregard for the truth that Jirard asserts in his video, and if the only way to get the missing info is to ask the individuals what's going on, it seems reasonable to ignore what they say after getting contradictory responses.

One thing the Certified Gaming Accountant points out that you guys miss is that the "revenue" part of the Tax form is supposed to be the TOTAL taken in, not the net. I.e. it's supposed to be the total moneys recieved, and later down in the tax form is supposed to outline expenses. So if this was done correctly, the "revenue" part of the form should be much higher, and any "expenses" should be shown further down on the form, not as part of the total revenue number. People seem to think the "revenue" part at the top of the tax form is Jirard's profit less expenses, but it's supposed to be the total taken in *before* calculating expenses. And then expenses are supposed to be listed later and subtracted from the total revenue to get the final "profits" or collected amount.
Therefore the Golf money, the Indieland money, and ALL the bits, tshirt sales, everything should be listed in "revenue" before listing expenses later in the form. That's why Jirard's explanation that expenses are why the revenue number is lower makes no sense.
plz upvote so Karl sees this.

This reminds me of when Cosmodore was revealed to be guilty of grooming and s3xu@lly exploiting minors. He wrote this massive essay of a disgusting non-apology in which he nonchalantly admitted to many (not all) of the allegations, pretended to fully acknowledge the sheer awfulness of his behavior, and tried to paint himself as a pitiful, imperfect, yet mostly innocent soul who made an understandable mistake and should be given a second chance. When his fans and contemporaries refused to grant him that second chance and insist that he turn himself in to the authorities, Cosmodore then pulled a 180 - back-pedaling on his confession and angrily lashing out at everyone who wanted him to take responsibility for his crimes. Jirard is pretty much doing the same thing here - assuming that admitting to what he did is enough to clear him of his wrongdoing and attempting to emotionally manipulate people into leaving him alone because “c’mon guys, I’m *reeeeeally* sawwy for my little hiccup, I don’t deserve to face any serious consequences, pweeeez fogive meeee~ 🥺”. I honestly think Jirard added that part because his brother fucked up.
nobody threw the validity of their mother dying to this into question, yet his brother in the initial e-mail stated that they donated body parts, which on it's own is already a weird thing to say.
imagine asking someone where the money goes and you respond with "but we donated body parts!" doesn't look or sound good.
I feel like that part was added specifically to combat that part of the conflict, doesn't only make them look bad, but also weird, Jirard stating that this was his mothers spinal cord+brain makes more sense, although it's not the vocal point of the issue, so it was also something to distract the viewer of what is really happening right now, which both Mutah and Karl are refusing let happen, so Jirard is just screwed, since a lot of people who watch Jirard, also watches either Karl or Mutah, the chances of him being able to shield his viewers from this is very small, hell even smaller twitch streamers are picking it up and discussing it while doing their thing.

The threat thing was a part of his strategy of portraying himself as the victim who has unfairly been targeted and needs to defend himself when some of the accusations aren't even up for debate, they are true.
The misplacing and misuse of funds can only be debunked by bank receipts which he didn't provide so yeah those emotionally attached to him his word may be good enough but anyone with basic deductive reasoning can see this response is nothing but deflection and manipulation intended for his loyal supporters and friends.
Its sad, in some way I feel bad about him because it's so stupid. He built a wholesome brand, put in the work to raise money for charity and promote indie developers which is fantastic than throws it all away by doing this. Wtf.

Did he actually do that? You think he would have put something about that in the description since it's a sponsored video it would be an appropriate place to send the proceeds but I can't see any mention of that. UA-camrs typically make $20-$30 per 1000 views and since this video has ~1.5 million views that's a low estimate ~$30'000 not to mention there are other videos made on this.
If these accusations turn out to be incorrect, that is a lot of money to make off of false accusations not to mention the damage to reputation and wasting of time and money having to defend against the accusations. Even if they are correct this should be taken to the authorities not complained about publicly. After a verdict is reached in or outside of the court then people are free to give commentary on the situation provided they were not specifically barred from doing so as part of a court order and provided that what they are saying is either pure facts or an opinion that could not possible be misinterpreted as fact.
You comment for example could be misinterpreted as a fact but I think most people would know that it's meant to be an opinion where you believe the money would only have been donated because of the accusations.
