Word, I watched a 2 hour video on a certain speedrun scene that was 30 minutes of history, and then an hour and a half of 4th place telling us all about himself and the buildup to placing fourth in a side category.
He even interviewed his betters and cut in blurbs throughout, about himself, not the game.
      Pure kusokino.
Big Karl would never do something so desperately debased.

@@JackMott i know you are pointing out that it’s not luck, its hard work, but real luck is absolutely involved. So many values are being calculated in the background that it requires a lucky run where values match up, allowing you to marry your actual skills to it.
So thousands of tries you not even have to be perfect, but you have to be perfect on th run that gives you perfect values at the same time.
I’m no speedrunner, but I’m a pilot and mathematician, and the math that has to match the player inputs makes it a very interesting hobby.

You might've actually been implying it -- but I think he purposely misusing 'lucky' in the same way Karl Jobst did.
I think he wasn't implying that skill trumps luck, but that the harder you work (or: the larger the sample size becomes), the 'luckier' you get (or: the attempts of success on hitting a, figurative, 'one in a million' chance). As in, the chance of you having a 'lucky run' edges closer & closer towards 100% the more attempts you do (although I am fully aware that you are the expert haha, so please do correct me if I'm wrong).

The way you talk not only about yourself, but the players that you were competing with at the time is extremely refreshing to watch. Being able to admit your immaturity when you were younger, and then growing into one of the most genuine people I've seen on the internet is something you should be proud of. The run was impeccable and the luck had to roll your way eventually. I'm excited to see Carl-Magnus Wall get a 52 of his own and I hope you two get to share that monumental achievement in real time. 33:14 Read the chat here. This run is so optimized that we are talking about 0.1 second differences in speed, and yet the runners are SO IN TUNE with speedrunning this map that not only Karl, but multiple people in the chat started celebrating BEFORE THE RUN WAS OVER. Saying stuff like "Fast" and "Is this it?" Once again think about the fact that the difference between success and failure is 0.1 second or less, but they can feel the difference between a 00:53 and a 00:52 before even seeing the results.
Also I want to mention how HAPPY they were even though they weren't the ones breaking the record. They were so happy to just see SOMEONE do it. THAT is a community right there. It makes me so happy to just see a group of people all come together to finally succeed at something so difficult instead of fighting against each other so that they could be the first. All the time and strategies were put together just to see if it was possible. And it was.
    OTHER MESSAGES:
    "Lets go champ"
    "Yo dude let's go"
    "POG"
    "plz"
    "this is it"
    "goooooo!!!"
    "MATE"
    "Was that clutch"
only THEN did they see the results.
