- EDIT: THIS WAS DONE ON GZDOOM, RECORDED BEFORE I KNEW HOW TO PROPERLY DO SPEEDRUNS. IT IS NOT A VALID SPEEDRUN.

A silly run through the legendary nuts.wad.

Nice! 😁 I remember trying this wad for the first time on my older PC. The framerate was unplayable even with cheats.
Yeah on my old PC it was a slideshow. On my new one it can still lag. Funny how it's still a test for a modern PC.
@@ChaingunChaCha I just played it today and it runs at 2 FPS. I have an OC'ed Ryzen 5 3600, RTX 2060 S.
@@lukkkasz323 if you literally mean 2FPS with those specs then it is likely a rendering setting in your port. If you just mean it was low FPS in general once projectiles etc started up then yeah this wad does that to any PC.
@@ChaingunChaCha Yeah it's possible, I played it on GZDoom with Software Renderer.
nice run!
Thanks! Might be able to save a second or two if I navigate to the first switch a bit cleaner.
how did you get 28% kills if you didn't kill anything? did it count enemy infighting or something or is it just a programming error?
Yeah it is infighting. Doom has an infighting mechanic and this crazy map is an infighting paradise. Any demon killed in any manner (infighting/barrels/crushers etc) counts.
@@ChaingunChaChafunny that people still asking this like, after 3 decades of that feature
@@TheDoomer666 yeah I guess you don't see infighting as much in shooters these days. Like modern Doom has a few scripted moments but not real infighting.
Shame really as the mechanics/code behind it is pretty interesting.
@@ChaingunChaChaInfighting is a great mechanic. It makes enemies feel so much more alive. Really wish more games did it.
@@habe1717A few of the retro shooters use it to some extent. Like Dusk has it and I think Prodeus has it.
But Doom seems to have it more as a core mechanic that you can use to your advantage more than other games.
You could have just turned audio off completely instead of blasting our ears with 10% volume......
Sorry about that. Didn't realise how loud it was when recording.
