The MK2 is optimized for 24-bit 48kHz but can handle any bit depth & sample rate
Built-in microSD card slot that allows users to upgrade firmware, add to the sample library and even transfer work back to a computer to edit or mix in Ableton Live as the MK2 saves a .als file with every preset.
The MK2 streams audio from the microSD card so you get sample streaming of practically unlimited length
New content for the MK2. You will find a high-quality sound library with one-shots, multi-samples, and loops from SoundtrackLoops, Soundopolis, LoopMasters, and Symplesound on the included microSD card.
The MK2 features our new multisampling tool that allows users to create “snapshots” of any Gate+CV synthesizer or module.

Amazing Eurorack module, this can be a hardcore sampler, maybe uses as center piece for a drum synth , anything is possible now! Love the ability to change what firmware is installed and what the module can do, Please 1010Music never lose that ability to change the module as needed. Coming from Ableton Realm always missed a multiverse like this in combination with the bluebox , it shapes the way one can create and perform in all realms integrated into 1010Music Point Of view 😎 , plus its touch and with every update new realities unfold ...

is it possible to live record audio on the fly from an external source, then slice and loop this audio pretty quickly inside one clip? Ideal situation would to be able to sample audio into a Slicer on the fly and then CV control the play back and gate sequence.
I want to use this module as a live looper to sample, mangle and gate incoming audio on the fly.
saves .als files too?? what better way to experience both universes simultaneously ! future of Music already here ..

Did I understand you correctly when you say that this can do the same multi sampling that the mk 2 can? With different layers for velocity?
No limit. Blackbox can respond to MIDI PGM Change.
Can I record CV and then use the device as a CV sequencer with time stretch to follow clock (tempo) changes ? If so, how many output CV channels could be used at the same time ?
The module is DC coupled. So yes, you can record CV and do some time stretching. You have four assignable outputs. You could dedicate them all to CV if you wanted.
Fxbox mk2 on the way? I like the idea of a Korg kp3+ in modular form.
We do have plans to release fxbox and synthbox to the mk2 platform.
@@1010music It's been a while since I've checked out the fxbox so I don't remember everything but recording movements on a XY touchpad and looping them is awesome for fx! Just sayin. ;) The Electribe 2, KP3+, and LZX Escher Sketch work this way!
is it playable with a midi keyboard or korg padkontrol?
Absolutely!
I love this overview, but it's a little on the selling side, I wish you'd make the videos "Loopop" does yourselves, kind of a video manual. Anyways, Loopop and you probably convinced me to not send the module back and use it for sampling and playing / mangling my modular and Ableton loops for live performances. Thank you for the good engineering! As for the example play, I often find engineers to give examples that are not very musical, this could be a task for an artist, that uses your gear to actually perform one of his tracks on your gear. This is supposed to be feedback, not criticism.

Does it have clock reset input ?
We do not use a 'reset' command. Our devices will automatically reset after 2 sec without incoming clock.
So, what do i do with my bitbox Mk1 now?
Upgrade to 3.0 firmware, which contains lots of new features
I find it hard to understand why you've made this unit, with less output options then on the mini?
You can choose what you want the sockets to do on the mini.
I assumed this is bound to have more output options and was sold on the unit
until I realised it only has L/R? Why?
For me it's a deal breaker, I like everything else about this sampler and am a fan of 1010's
products and was hoping for a more flexible alt to the squid salmple and the mini.
Th Bitbox Mk2 is an update to the Bitbox Mk1. Bitbox Micro was released at the same time as the Mk2 as a response to many asking for a smaller footprint. The Mk2 (and Mk1) features 2 stereo / 4 mono outputs.
Is Blackbox mk2 coming as well?

by the way, can the blackbox replace the multipart looper functionality of the akai force in this fun little package? I need to build loops on the fly from external gear and also use some sample pads as a chromatic sampler controlled by an external controller - didn't see any examples in your videos
@@SynthAddict I haven't used the Akai Force. blackbox can capture loops on the fly and play them back in sync. You may want to check out Loopop's video or read the manual at 1010music.com
