Chucks are so flat and uncomfortable!! That's why I own 18 pairs and no other shoe...
Have you tried the 70's? I feel like the better insole helps with the flat design of the shoe.
@@Hueguh 70s much better.
I think I'm north of 20, but I do wear other shoes.
The 70s last way longer than the regular ones. I've been wearing the same pair of white low 70s for 4 years and only NOW have they received an extremely minor rip on the side.
Switch to the 70's. You get that relaxed feeling and way more comfortable shoes. Especially after a long hard day walking from a gym or anywhere else.
Never been a fan of the low-converse. Always preferred the Hi-tops.
David Wyatt If you pair the converse with some shorts then low top, with pants high top EZ
David Wyatt I have almost every pair of each high and low
The lows are more versatile imo. Unless you like 6'7 high tops look goofy with shorts.
Lebron's Former Hairline I'm 6'5" so I do prefer the high tops
Same. They hurt my ankles so I wear the high tops
70s models have an additional side stitch that helps support the canvas compared to the og ones that flop over time. Insoles are similar to the comfortable ones used in the john varvatos converse collab.
Forgot to highlight that detail, the stitching is a nice touch!
Not only is there the extra stitch, but if you look inside there's another layer of canvas behind the stitching. That is the point where the first holes always start to appear on Chuck Taylors, at least in my experience. I have a pair of hightop '70s and I LOVE them! They are the most comfortable shoes I've bought in a long time. I've worn Chucks since the late '60s and the new '70s seem like they're built even better than the ones I wore as a kid, but then memory often fails when trying to remember details from that far back, lol. All I know if they are built by the same specs, I must have been one active kid back then! I used to wear a pair out in just a few months back then, lol.
Nice review!
Chuck 70s is the real OG. It was the first design of chuck taylor & was released in the 70s during the time of our grandfathers/grandmothers. They changed the design in the early 90s & turned it into flatter version.
Finding Niemo
The Chuck Taylor was originally released in the late 1920s.
literally convinced me to impulse buy em after this video
lol, hope you like them!
Derrick Sin do you like em
Matthew Butler I don’t know about that guy, but I just got mine and theyre amazing
Just copped today for black Friday Playa!
@@tastelesssoperatatouille4396 what about the sizing? how do half a size down feels?
shoes have been going on sale on nike's website up to 50% off
Spot on, visually equivalent to “vintage” adored (and paid for! )all over Asia,
Once tried, that’s it.
If you can pick ‘em up, do it.
At 56 yrs old. I grew up wearing converse( I currently have a pair of chucks that I lift in) There was one design. They were $10 a pair and my mom would periodically throw them in the washing machine, let them air dry and they were ready to go again. It’s really sad to see how they have changed quality wise.
You sold me on these. Like honestly didn't even care about the 70s before this video, but after watching this I'm dying to impulse buy it.
Converse Chucks is the love of my life. I never looked back after owning my first pair of Chucks 70s. I admire other shoes from time to time, even tried to convince myself Vans, etc. is just as good but no, they were just not the same. No other shoes can make me impulse-buy like a pair of Chucks does.
Just got my new Classic one, new box, new insole, feel so different than the first Classic. I have one pair 70s too, both of them just awesome.
same one size down for me. 70's are awesome!
The extra money is definately worth spending, the sole is sooo comfortable!
would you say it has more support?
sawyer mounce yup
The parchment color is in my opinion, the most versatile and best colorway :) Absolutely love this pair and the comfort, structure and quality that it brings :) Thank you Eric!
I gave away my chucks after 5 years and those bad boys never had a tear...those are highly durable
I have been wearing hi and low tops converse since I left school 15 years ago and I can say the rubber soles are hard-wearing and long-lasting, but the shoe becomes smelly after a year of regular use. The ortholite /4mm memory foam insole makes a difference as you don't have to break them in. Really comfortable and soft.
A lot of the time the low top are used for summer and you don't want to be wearing hard sole footwear on holiday.
Good change by converse to evolve with the needs of the customer.
Everyone raving about the 70s (which I've never owned before) as they are a hidden gem.. so here is my secret gem--MERINO WOOL SOCKS.
They come in thick or thin, long, ankle, or no show. And it's so freaky that you can actually reuse socks several times, because the laws of physics make them NOT SMELL lol
70's still on fire!
Love them❤❤
just discovered your channel and men the quality of your videos is astonishing, keep it going :) def gained a sub here
Thank you!
All I wear are converses literally for more than 10 years I feel so comfortable in them
recently found your channel. super great stuff you’re doin. Lookin forward for more. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Thank you!
I prefer Chuck 70 than the usual flat chuck taylor (i don’t know what to call it). The Chuck 70’s thick insoles perfectly shape my feet & have better cushion. It also adds a lil height as they are kinda thick. I also love that it suits any outfit; may it be jeans, skirts or even a dress! Already bought one & I absolutely love it 💘
I just got a pair of the 70s high tops!! Top notch shoes man!
I agree with everything everything you said but the sizing, I had to go a half size down. The 70 is the way to go though.
Thank you! I know everyone's foot is different, so hopefully, it helps some people!
Does it fit true to size ??
@@ricardomontoya3420 go a half size down
Do you have wide feet?
Hey, can you give recommendation for the sizing tips? If I using size us 10 in nike air max 97, whats best for me in chuck 70s ox low?
Stay true to size, or half size down? By the way how about the size feel, is it snug or little bit loose or perfectly fit?
Love my 70s
Converse x CDG Lows (black and cream pairs) is the staples piece in my shoes collection. ♥️👀
2020 and still on my recommend
The best Chuck Taylors are the Skateboarding pro version. Nice thick sole, suede or canvas upper, and a lunarlon insole.
True
If you like the look and quality of the Chuck 70 but want something more unique than Converse, then look at the All American from PF Flyers. The All American has that thick shiny rubber sole that the Chuck 70 have, and thick canvas too. The shoe itself is very comfortable. It might look like a ripoff Chuck 70, but it it's been around since 1958. Plus it's a bit cheaper too! Good quality shoe.
the basketball shoes was the 70s, before the basic chuck taylor made, the 70s name was converse chuck taylor all star, years later they made the basic chuck taylor and renamed the basketball one to chuck taylor all star 1970s first string and make them as the premium version of basic chuck taylor.
i enjoyed the video so much, btw 🙌
Your channel's gonna blow up this month fs
Appreciate the kind words!
Hi Hueguh! I love your videos, man! They're aesthetically pleasing. Just subbed.
Keep the videos coming!
Thank you!
Chuck 70 is much better than the original
I Highly Agree and Love The Video. Awesome!
Very well done!
i only buy chucks because they fit me good. they look good. on anything. even when dirty. for me they last long. i have them for years. and i go to work with them every day.
Great video! Please make a video on how to clean your Chuck 70's - Parchment. Mine has stains and I couldn't get it off 😢
Chuck 70's + Hi-Top + Parchment = Perfect
Checking out your vids and saw this! Now I want one
This shoes Never get old
I have 3 pair of chuck 70 and i love it.
Janervousal Studios are they really true to size or should I size down??
Nope,im 8uk on every shoe except adidas country and safety shoe so no worry pal,im 8uk on vans golfwang and so the same on chuck 70.
ShowLez l have them , they make me taller for about 1-2 cm
Really hoping they bring back the durability of the vulcanized rubbers from the OG's. I had a couple of II's that had the soles literally separating from the side-walls in few months of wear. I'm really thinking Nike messed it up big time.
this is the explanation i've been looking for
Glad you found the video helpful!
Chucks were originally made high top
Love the video. Makes me want to get a pair too and review them
I liked this video. Thank you. U should make a video of which nike or adidas or whatever people should buy too
When i wear the classic converses i go down a whole size. Are the 70’s the same or true to size? Because i wear a 10.5 in Vans
Do they come in black? I've been rocking chucks for 15 years.
Yes they come in black also!
Hueguh yes!! Black is classic!! It never fades!! 😉
Yes mine are black
Hi great video! what size do you wear? And how does the sizing compare to the CDG converse?
The 70s is so popular, newer regular chucks now use the heavier vulcanized rubber soles.
I don't know how people can have their converse last for YEARS!!! I used to be able to have them for a year or more when I was younger but now they can't even last me up to 4 months and it's ridiculous. Converse used to be one of my faaaaavorites. 😭
Another very cool vid ! Cheers
Thank you!
The chuck 70s look great but from what I’m hearing the P.F flyers are also amazing. Trying to decide which one is worth buying. Anybody with an opinion I would appreciate your feedback on which you think is worth buying and like more.
I had a pair of PF flyers when I was younger, but haven't tried them recently.
Yeah I hear good from both but I’m going to buy the chuck 70s then go on and buy some P.F Flyers afterwards. Thanks man for the reply loved the vid!
I love converse shoes and I have plenty different ones in my closet but after buyin chuck 70s I really couldn’t go back to the normal ones
IT LITERALLY FEELs LIKE YOU ARE WALKING ON CLOUDS
Agree love 70s xxxx
I go through the regular chucks fast. The sole cracks in that same place across the arch of the foot and the insole just wears away on the ball of the foot quickly resulting in wet feet when it rains. Love the Chuck aesthetic but definitely need more durability.
Great content. Keep it up!
Thank you!
For sizing,i preferred to go down 1 size from your true size ,especially for the low-top, because i have one,and when i wear it,the shoe give my feet a longer silhouette (my size is 43 btw) and it looks like i'm wearing McDonald's shoes which is long and big
I went down half a size
@@kimgrant3879 do you have wide feet?
@@Luisitox5 no
and do you have wide feet?
Do a canvas sneaker cleaning vid! I always stain my canvas when cleaning
Sure, I’d be happy to share! Have a couple videos in queue, but I’ll work on it when I get a chance!
just throw them into ur washer
I like my Chucks dirty, lol! Good thing they look great dirty and beat up.
I'm an Airforce 1 type of guy but after watching this vid. this made me wanna buy chuck taylor and chuck 70. Dang it, after this quaratine, imma head to our local thrift store
Hey Hueguh! What would you choose if you had to pick between The Chuck 70 and the Reebok C 85 you recommended in your summer essentials video?
If I had to pick I would probably take the converse.
Yess!🙌🏼🙌🏼
🙏🏼
Obsessed with your minimalism lifestyle. Please make a house tour.
Thank you I am inspired by you a lot.
It is on its way! We just moved so we have some furnishing to do, but we are almost done!
i always hated shoe shopping i would try nike shoes and other brands but my feet somehow never really liked them I've been using chuck taylors since the school days i love them to death
This is an amazing channel!
Thank you!
I love converse...
Can never go wrong with Converse!
Mans really got the exact same colorway in both 😭
Which colorway did u get for ur 70? I see they hve like a bone colorway and a white colorway
What strap is that you've put on your Submariner? I'm looking for a nice strap for my Omega Seamaster, and even though it's not a close up, yours look really neat.
It’s Crown and Calibers premium single pass strap. I can not recommend it enough. High quality seatbelt like strap with nicely milled hardware. I like the single pass because it keeps the watch low profile, I think it would look perfect on your Speedmaster!
I have flat feet but I love converse soooo
Hello from İstanbul 🖐
Converse 70 mükemmel ❤️❤️renk olarak alt taban krem olması harika olmuş çünkü eskilerde beyaz sırıtıyordu , ve 70 lerde taban inanılmaz rahat .. Converse 70 ❤️❤️❤️❤️
I have 2 pair of the 70 and love them
Me too agree❤
did you sized down?
“Stray glue” ... huh well my chuck 70s bottom rubber part was ripped clean off the sides of the shoe
Production quality is great!
Thank you!
bought a pair of white Taylor high tops about 5 years ago, and they lasted all that time, though years of running and climbing and almost daily use, getting rained on and beat up. Bought a new pair of the same shoes a couple months ago bc finally started to wear out the bottom of one of the old shoes. new pair is completely dead within one month of light usage, only wearing occasionally. soles completely unattached, big holes in the back by the heal. A size up is too big and these felt fine so I know they aren't too small. only thing that changed between those times was that NIKE bought Converse... hmmm. price dropped slightly and I think quality did too. I'm pretty mad that Nike messed with the original shoe, and still kept the slogan about how they're unchanged.
Great video
Thank you!
I miss the Chuck Taylor II
I got three pairs of Chuck II's and they are my favourite sneakers. They don't sell them anymore?
@@Victorius I haven't seen them anymore. Maybe it wasn't enough of a sale to make them always available. They are worth the extra 20 though.
Where are they sold? I've looked everywhere and only found one in leather at Finish Line.
I found these at Nordstrom. They carry them online as well.
How do they break in though? Do they become more comfortable over time and form to your foot?
Out of the box, they are pretty comfortable thanks to the insole. As canvas breaks in, they will get even more comfortable!
Definitely. Even the chuck taylors. But the 70s are way more comfortable. So if you have extra money.
What do you use to clean your chucks?
is this the parchment colorway or the optic white? great vid!
Make a video on how you clean/preserve these Chuck 70s.
How do you keep your CDG Converse clean? Do you use JM Repel or something similar?
Love the videos, by the way.
Yes, I’ll spray them with Repel. Canvas is always a pain to clean. I’ll add that video to the queue!
Sweet, thanks.
I work for Converse inc. And i got to say that ive been hesitant to pick these up and now i actually want them
Where is the best place to get replacement laces for the CDG/ Chuck 70 model?
Converse website
How do you tie chucks to keep the tongue up?
Chuck 70 (canvas) vs Chuck Taylor (leather) which one you recommend
Do the 70’s have a solid rubber outsole? Unlike the regular Chuck’s fabric outsole which is stupid but I know why they do it!
Are they wider? Because the chucks i have aren't for my wide feet.
I love your videos bro, need to increase volume on the voice overs though
Thanks for watching! Completely agree, I just started learning audio processing. Hopefully, the new videos will be better.
Do they have the same size/feeling ?
Hey, can you give recommendation for the sizing tips? If I using size us 10 in nike air max 97, whats best for me in chuck 70s ox low?
Stay true to size, or half size down? By the way how about the size feel, is it snug or little bit loose or perfectly fit?
Half a a size down feels a little loose and i have about a thumb space at the front. Havent tried a full size down since I cant find any pair in stock. For reference, I have wide feet and for example, Vans in my true to size 10 us tend to break on top of my big toe and or to the sides. So goin a half size up in like pro models, tend to make them more durable overtime.
In other reference, I have a pair of blazers low, in size 10 US and sometimes, they rub my big toe or my pinky toe, so after several hours they start to feel uncomfortable.
I just wish they would go a bit wider in the toe box :(
how about sizing is it the same as normal converse?
so should i get the same size as the chuck taylors or go up half a size?????

Dooope!
I think black high top is the best
Do chuck 70 make taller than regular chucks ?
did you get the same size for the normal chucks and chucks 70s?
I size down one size with normal chucks and only half a size for the 70's.
what size are you wearing in the originals and in the 70s version?
12 in 70's, 11 in Originals.
Where'd you get your pants? Great video by the way!
Can you replace the insole with orthotics?
You should check out " Made in Japan" Converse Chuck Taylor.
Or the vintage pair USA made..
Is much more comfortable and quality ;)
