What I appreciate about Harry is that he is not afraid of giving his honest opinion. He isn’t trying to “sell” fashion. He’s going to tell you how it is and what he thinks but won’t belittle you. My personal rule for sneaker is gray. I don't do blue, green or black.
I feel the same way about Vans. But I recently found out that if I give some sneakers some time apart and then wear them in the right mood and outfit I fall back in love again. Happens with every sneaker I own.

fully agreed that the reebox club c85 don't age well but personally, i'd choose them over any adidas any day. their bulkiness goes great with the more baggy/loose fit trousers

I switched to vintage Club C from Stan Smiths because all the Stans in stores switched to plastic uppers and everyone was wearing them, and fell in love with the soft butterey leather and busier design, and the foam midsole is so much better than the hollow honeycomb rubber in the SS
Seeing a lot more Reebok on foot these days
I did the same. I hasta Adidas now due to that and have more than 15 Reebok's so far
Yeah I was also suprised by the fact that I cant find leather stan smiths anymore, thankfully there is something called stan smith lux which is more expensive ofc but can be easily found on discounts!

Ive also had a change of heart on club c's in the last couple of years. Its definitely the aging for me, and you make a good point about them looking clumsy.
Imo they make a great trainer that you dont mind roughing up and wearing to a festival or on a dog walk or something, but there's better options for your "best" outfits.

I feel the same way you did about vans for a while, but recently I picked up the knu skools and they re-ignited my love for the brand again, I'm really into super chunky skater/dad shoes lately and it fit my style so perfectly.

Veteran sneaker head here. When it comes to shoes introducing specific pairs into your wardrobe don’t get caught up on “is there a pair that looks better?” However remember just because the shoe doesn’t gel PERFECTLY it offers a different look unique to the shoe AND you’ll always have another chance to wear “the right” pair

I love my Club C’s lol. I got 5 pairs in my collection and haven’t paid retail for any of them. I’m a big fan of the Revenge Vintage model as they have more touches to them that elevate them over the 85 model IMO.
Though yeah if you’re a streamlined sneaker I wouldn’t say they are to be fair.

The Gazelles in green are an all-time for me. I can't go for the blues for the same reason.
Closest I can get is the blue cream Spezials which look more muted somehow but still fun.
theres a green puma that is very similar that give a similar aesthetic.

Have to agree with the Reeboks, they really don’t age well, but hey some people do love the more worn out look but in my opinion they get worn out too quickly
agreed still have mine but so beat up haha, I think vintage puma/adidas give a similar aesthetic for a decent price and pretty popular.

I ended up going for the Glory Red gazelles, they go well with dark colored jeans so their brightness doesn't feel as much of a problem for me

i feel you on the way the reeboks crease. They do not just age well though they are super comfy
ive only ever worn vans since the age of 6, even got married wearing my half cabs, i own about 50 pairs of vans, but almost always wear there half cabs, its the perfect shoe for me
edit: i still have my very first pair from when i was a kid, for our 10th wedding anniversary, my wife had them put in a display case with a plaque saying "the cause of all our problems"

I’m vans sk8 hi8 and I know how you would feel specially with classic black and white. You can probably tone the shoe down by replacing the lace from white to black. The changes the whole she aesthetic

The gazelle mistake is so easy to make. I fell into that a few years back and bought like 5 colourways saying I'll wear them all. Wore one or two and ended up donating the rest.

Harry its time to put all these minimal flat top sneakers away and get into some new balance and hiking shoes. BTW I copped a pair of Dr.Marten ZebZags because of you. I think they need to redesign the little strap rivet cause its pretty shoddy but, fantastic shoes that slip on and look great with everything.

I think Sambas are super comfortable if you size up by half a size. Never had any issues with them.
Love the glasses Harry 🖤 Where are they from? Also, have been wearing Sambas so very much so that they've become my everyday shoe really 😅 They fit me like a sock and go with will fitted pants, have tried wearing them with baggier trousers and they didn't seem to go well with them.

I’m totally with you on the club c’s. I accidentally bought them a size too big (mostly because they were 50% off) and yes, they crease horrendously. I love the comfort the shoe provides, but as you said, sometimes they feel too chunky. I also feel like they get very dirty, very easily. I have so many shoes, I prefer over the club c’s, that I really don’t wear them much. Even for the very low price tag, they were not worth my money.

I have a pair of onitsuka tigers as well (in yellow) and yeah for some reason they're hard to style correctly. (but I still love em and aint getting rid of them either haha)

When a new shoe is hurting my skin I like to put a big non-water resistant plaster on the area and then coat it a little in vaseline to get rid of the stickiness around the edges. It stops the shoes rubbing against my skin and the vaseline stops my socks from ripping the plaster off.
I regret my sambas too. They’re too narrow. I miss my busenitz so I probably should’ve picked up a pair of those instead. They have padding so they’re more comfortable and don’t break my heels either

I got my first pair of Sambas a little while ago and one nice day I decided to wear them with no show socks and do a bunch of walking. The heel tabs literally made the back of my ankles bleed and I had really painful wounds for like a week after lol. How do more people not dump on them for those heel tabs

the GATS don't seem to work with black trousers. I've donee them with grey flannel wool trousers and they work but they're best with olive army chino or any raw/light denim
Regarding the sambas, you might want to give the Samba Decon a look. They're a higher quality version made with more premium (and much softer) leather plus a collapsible heel counter so they can also be used as makeshift mules. Light years more comfortable than the regular sambas, in my opinion. Finally, if you're looking around for other colorway Spezials, I'd recommend the womens' line. I have the black/faded pink colorway which may tickle your fancy. At any case, another great and insightful video.
Yeah, Koio and Oliver Cabell both make an upgraded version of the Club C that ages much better with better leather. I've had good experiences with those

I feel similar about the reebok club c also. But I still think they make great beater/coffee shop sneakers.
Check out some Stepney Workers Club S-Strike Dellows or Pearls. Feel like some grown up Vans, great materials and go with anything if you go for the more neutral colourways✌Sizing can be a bit funky so recommend a try-on!
