Yes it's a shame they chose to discontinue it so soon.. it had a lot of potential. I guess the sales figure was really too bad that they had to shut it down
They should made the II:s for a longer time and made more models than just the original colors. Don't think they made any collaboration with the II:s. I only managed to buy a pair. Think the sole could been thicker but their solution for keeping the tounge in place, it's just great.
the reason is because its outsole & midsole quality was not good as chuck70s which make your shoes easily broken . But the canvas of chuck2 on point though .
Just bought the mustard, as well as the off white 70s. They're so comfortable 😍 the extra cushioning doesn't go unnoticed. The build quality overall is a lot more solid than some of the newer chucks.
@@Monsoon_90 I bought a pair of red chuck 2 when they came out and I wore them a lot every year during spring/summer. I loved them to bits and the only reason I had to get rid of them a couple of years ago was because I outgrew them and they wouldn't fit me comfortably anymore. I don't understand why everyone says they break more easily, the canvas is way thicker and the quality overall feels better.
Searching vintage pairs of chucks shows that all the details on tje chuck 70 were in fact improvements made back in the 60s and 70s. At some point - it is debated on forums exactly when - they reverted to the oroginal design of the 50s and before.
Yeah the normal cons are NOT what he said in the vid the cons that were always around They made them overseas after the 70s, and then lowered quality and the CT70s are the high end version of chucks people wanted back That's how it went not oh they made them exactly this way forever and made better ones, information is wrong
@@CocoKoi321 and that is the major fault of youtube. Anybody can make and post a video without fact checking and then we end up with a big pool of misinformation.
Great video - I didn't even know about the chuck II's! The video quality was fantastic for your first one, I thought you had tens of thousands of subscribers! Keep it up and you will get there
mentioning that you liked the ortholites better than the lunarlons was interesting to hear, overall you helped to clear up some things about the differences between these shoes. Thanks for doing converse's job for them by explaining some of the differences, they have some really inadequate descriptions on their site.
Chuck 70 is "re-introduced" in 2013 to pay homage to the 70s Chuck Taylor, I still remember when I was a kid back then, my father (RIP Dec 15, 2022) said it was his dream shoes since he was a teenager, he really likes the comfort of the insoles compared to the classic chucks, whenever I see chucks 70s, I'm instantly in love with it and hoping to buy a set of the Chuck 70 some day.
So sorry to hear about your father.. Chuck 70s are still going strong in 2023 and is easily accessible at most retailers. I hope you'll get a pair soon enough!
Both are solid choices.. but if you're the adventurous type that is not afraid of sneakers getting dirty or scuffed up I'd say the parchment color is really good and versatile enough. But if you'd like to wear them anywhere without worrying much about getting dirty easily then the black is great as well and pretty much fits well with any outfit!
The original ones are a little uncomfortable. 70s are the best... They're just beautiful... And I don't like chuck taylor 2, they are more Nike than Converse
Personally I like the Chuck II's overall shape. I like how it looks the way the heel counter is shaped it's like it's molded to your heel and then it narrows at the top to perfectly fit your achilles and ankles. I like the chuck II's in black canvas and white midsoles tho the other colors look bland tbh.
You should get a pair of converse addicts, they're a extremely high quality version of the chuck 70 and they're made in japan, I've never seen anyone make a video on them
I'd take the 70s entire sole and put em on the 2's and then have the perfect Chuck's. With the 2's godtier canvas and the 70s durable sole I'll be unstoppable.
I've tried them on for a day or two and compared to the allstar, they feel like a boot. Not sure if you had them for a long time and could let me know how soft they eventually get when beaten down over time, but the all star is like a slipper right off the bat. The 70s toe imo was really uncomfortable compared to the allstar.
@@Venden_IX For what I was told, you're suppose to go a size down or so from your normal shoes and I had about half a thumb off the end of the shoe. Not sure if that's the wrong size or what, but it seemed right to me. I just want to avoid the "clown shoe" curl up people referred to.
Very well done video! How do you feel about sizing? I wear a US size 4 men’s Chuck Taylor All-Stars, which is a US size 6 in women’s. I just purchased a pre-loved pair of Chuck 70 Retro Stripes after searching for them for years. They are the same size as my old, beat up, worn out All-Stars. Do you think sticking with the same size will be fine? I’ve heard people say stick to your same size and just give them time to break in, as they can feel more snug due to the higher sidewall. I’ll be crushed if they don’t fit since it’s the only pair in the black and white color way that I’ve ever seen pop up on the resale market in my size that also wasn’t an absurd price. 😭
I’ve got the left ones but Navy blue, and the thing is that on those shown by You!’ yea,.. those don’t got that little star at the back of your sneakers in the letter “o’ wich I got!’.. and on the right of these 3 Converse Chucks’, those ones got those lil’ star too at the right word in the letter “0’ of these left ones that i wear, is this exclusive or something...?’
The chuck taylor 70s are a better made and more comfortable shoe than the original but sizing is a bit funky get your normal size ir a half size down and your feet look long almost like a clown shoe !!
You missed an important difference between the chuck II, the originals & the chuck 70s. The chuck II has a completely different rubber on the sole, it's gummier & grippier, more like the rubber on a vans sole. That is why they transitioned the chuck II into the Cons ctas pro (skateboard shoe).
What the hell, this was your FIRST video?! it was SO GOOD!
Thanks for the kind words!
Too bad that Chuck Taylor 2 has been discontinued. I like the design, has a good material and more comfortable than the original.
Yes it's a shame they chose to discontinue it so soon.. it had a lot of potential. I guess the sales figure was really too bad that they had to shut it down
But the same color laces are not cool...the white lace and contrast converse color is way more cool I think...
They should made the II:s for a longer time and made more models than just the original colors. Don't think they made any collaboration with the II:s. I only managed to buy a pair. Think the sole could been thicker but their solution for keeping the tounge in place, it's just great.

Nice!! They are so affordable and comfy at same time. Definitely won't regret em
hii! I really need help 😭 I wear vans 6.5 and I wanna buy some chucks 70 but I don't know what size to get them, can u help?
@LuigiDelRey That mustard is sunflower yellow
@@KayceeChen I certainly regret Converse's decision NOT to add tongue holders to the Chuck 70.
i miss the chuck taylor 2 so much
Thank you for making this. Gonna buy a pair of chuck 70's
This video is very well made and shot. You deserve way more subs.
I miss the chuck 2. I luved mine. Its a cleaner look to me. A more subtle look without the racing stripe. Great cushioning and no slip tongue
Are you agree they're easily broken than the older ones? I want to grab a pair but I want them to last.

The Chuck 2 was one of the best looking Chucks ever made... too bad it got discontinued
Great video man! Keep it up 👍🏾
Has this shoe stopped being produced? I can't find it in stores in my country. What is the reason?😢😢
Only the Chuck Taylor II has been discontinued because of bad sales (presumably). You can still find regular Chuck and the Chuck 70s. Cheers!
Chucks 70s made me wear chucks again. They are great and comes close to Confort of chucks 2 with superior materials

is the convers 70 really more comfortable than the lunarlon insole of the chuck II?
That's a personal opinion of mine, I truly feel that too. The 70s insole feels more thick and has more soft cushioning to it.
@@KayceeChen Good to know! I have the II, but I will try the 70s as well then as I have painful heels.

How do you feel the sizing is? Are they similar or different. I found the CX with foam sole to be slimmer and had to half size up
True. And the 70's sizing basically larger than the CT all star

What color are the 70s one in the video?
Sunflower

The OG Chucks have a tongue holder tab to keep the tongue in place.

How to know if its chuck taylor 70s or 2?
70s has black lining on the sole and usually more heavier, whileas the 2s has plain white outsole
Why is the sticker of the brand black and the other is white? What’s the difference?
How is the Song in the background named

Where can I buy a pair of those of those socks?
You can try eBay or Amazon..
They're brandless and I got them at some random flea market at the streets.
Good vid man only thing you missed that would’ve been nice was the sizing difference or lack there of.
The main problem is that there's no arch support and after wearing them for a couple hours it becomes painful to wear
Most people don't need arch support. We were meant to walk barefoot. Needless to say, walking barefoot doesn't provide arch support.
Take ortholite insole from 70s and replace with lunarlon in Chuck 2's and you get best of both worlds.
I'd take the 70s entire sole and put em on the 2's and then have the perfect Chuck's. With the 2's godtier canvas and the 70s durable sole I'll be unstoppable.
