The 70s are worth the extra $25, but not if you are planning on using them as lifting shoes. For squats/deadlifts I’d rather use my classics as you feel closer to the ground and not separated by the cushion.
Can you further give me an idea? I've been looking to use the 70's as my go to lifting shoe. Is there really a significant difference with the cushioning? Have you broken in both of them? Thanks.
@@carlbarcelon3650 I don’t recommend this. The whole reason converse are recognized as good lifting shoes is because the originals have very little cushion and you feel firm with ground, similar to being barefoot, which is ideal for lifts. I’ve tried deadlifting in my 70s, which were okay, but I don’t have that solid firm grasp with the ground that I have with lifting shoes(my metcons), original converse or even shoeless. The 70s are really nice though and quite comfortable, just doesn’t beat the originals in the gym. Hope that helps.
I’ve worn white all stars since 7th grade. They last me around 2 years but they get holes and bend so quickly. I’m planning on getting a pair of the 70’s with a customized sage color for my first year of college. This helped me out so much thank you!!!
Definitely subbing, getting a pair of 70’s and i wanted to see the differences between that and my All Stars. Love your presentation, minimal editing, analysis and tone of voice. keep it up man, pretty good review and comparison
Im Not INTO sneakers but I need a pair that go with everything. I thought my mind was playing tricks on me when I was trying to find the difference. Thanks for laying this out plainly!
I've always been an All Star guy, used to get a pair each year for about 5 years, after 9 months or so they'd start to split along the sides, the glue would go, and you could wash them 3-4 times then they'd be completely dead after that. 18 months ago I got a pair of 70's, same size, colour etc, and I'll never look back now. 18 months on and they still look and feel new, been washed probably 15 times and no splitting or issues at all, the comfort for me is just as comfy as the all stars, just SO much more rugged and long-lasting, whilst looking the same.
Love Your Video! Converse are my favorite footwear especially, The Chuck 70s. Takes me back to the 70's growing-up wearing these Shoes. So glad they are back. Awesome! Peace and Love.
i’ve had my all stars for about 5 years, and within the 1st year i wore them almost everyday. So they are really worn down and at the end of their life. I’m def going to get the chuck 70’s. Thanks for the review!!
My closet full of Nike but hands down my most worn pair of shoes are my black chuck 70s Crazy how this 100 year old silhouette still so wearable, to the point luxury designers bringing their own take on it
Just got my first 70 HI’s a few weeks ago in the exact same colorway and I friggin love em. I’ve wanted a pair for years and I ended up getting the Run Star Hikes in 2021 and the Run Star Motions in 2022 both in the classic black/white colorway. Can’t be happier with the 70 HI’s tho. I’m from a small town in Mississippi so I had to drive 2 hours to a Converse store at an outlet mall outside of Memphis for mine; BUT IT WAS WORTH IT!!!!
Awesome, glad you enjoy them! Im still loving mine, I even went on a 3 mile run in them a few weeks back just to see what it would feel like and I actually enjoyed them as running shoes. Even though they are clearly a fashion shoe.
It just depends where you live on how hard it is to find them, where I live we have 2 converse outlets not to far and they both carry the 70’s the short 2 weeks i’ve had the 70’s I love them!!!
You are lucky, The 70’s are still very hard to find in store in my area. The only place that had the briefly was urban outfitters and I don’t think they sell shoes anymore.
Living I. The north east where we get over 100f to 0f average temp in a year..... chucks, boots and flip flops is all I need! Now I do change up the sneakers sometime to Van's slip ons or Jordan's or what ever i feel like. Good pair of boots can last 5 to 10 years easy for winter if not worn as work boots. Sneakers last a year atleast but norm 2 years as I'm wearing boots in winter and flip flops in summer 99% of the time. Sneakers are just a want and a style, or for places I cant ware flip flops.
personally I feel like the 70s would be better with the tongue lace lock. The tongue always falls off to the side. I agree, I do believe the chucks are more comfortable fresh out the box. Still trying to break in my 70s after a month of wear
Im going to make these my next pair of shoes..i rocked chucks for 2 years but switched to Vans because the all stars do NOT last long for me. The out soles come apart so fast. But i LOVE the classic style so hopefully the 70s hold up for longer
Same my all stars are lucky to make it past 2 months before getting holes in the bottom. I walk several miles every day though. Hoping 70’s don’t have same issue.
The stores around me(Upper East Side of Manhattan, NY) also don't sell the 70's anymore. Before 2020, I always went to JCPenny to buy converse 70's. Now that the majority of JCPenny stores closed down during the pandemic, it's been hard to find them. The Foot Locker and other shoe stores around me only have the all-stars, not a chuck, and tectuff converse available. I went to different stores around the city but can't find 70's. Nowadays I just buy the converse all-stars from stores since it is $20 to $30 bucks cheaper than the 70's and I don't want to wait for it to come in the mail.
Love my 70's. They are incredibly comfy. One thing I did notice is that they run big. My Jordans are all 10.5 and I went down a full size t ok 9.5. Great vid.
But how? When I look for inches/cm I should take a half size bigger size... I dont get when people say we should take smaller ones. Because when I look for inches, they are actually smaller than Vans. Please help

Hi man, thank you for a nice video. I love the way you talk about the sneakers and your personal experience with them. My friend is looking for converse in order to lift weights. Which one do you think would be more aporipriate, all stars or chuck 70s?
Damn I what mine all stars looked that good after a year. I start getting holes in mine and have to replace after 2 months. I do walk in them several miles every day tho. Hoping the 70’s will last at least 6 months. Thanks for the info.
Great review! You definitely convinced me to pick up the 70s! For some reason I also couldn't find them or even the All Stars in person in my area so it looks like I'll have to buy them online. Thanks again!
So long as you don't have your heart set on a particular color, you can find these on sale for as low as $30. I just got a pair of these nice pale blue lows for $35.
I've been wearing converse since 1999, my size is 6. I just bought chuck 70' last week, I bought size 7 because the store didn't have size 6. I wore it for a few days, it's very comfortable from all star.. it doesn't feel loose but it looks a bit big than usual 🤣 but it's ok.
Great Video! I just need some advice , I am planning to buy one Chuck 70 & one all star (either one white and other black) which colour should i go for which shoe? (I know its silly) Thankyou!!
I would do the 70 in black and the All Star white, the reason is because the 70 IMHO is heavier canvas and makes a good winter shoe. The All Star is lighter and IMHO makes a better summer shoe. Thanks for watching commenting and subscribing!
You're the pro so here goes..i saw a dude with another variation of the chuck 70's high top today, it has the same reinforced features in front and the black label in the back BUT had the old school "flat" round logo found near the ankle joint, i dont like the raised puffy plastic-y looking ankle logo. Is there a model number or name for the one with the old school flat logo? Thanks
I believe my 70’s I just ordered are going to be better for work. Cuz of the cushion and extra stitching.. but hands down with out a doubt the all stars look cooler.. sorry but thats a fact. So next week ima order another pair of all stars then keep the 70’s for just work and the all stars to pimp.
The soles of my Chuck's started to come apart about 9 months in and not even daily worn. Laces were def of the cheaper variety. The insoles of the 70s do look much better. Just find it hard to pull the trigger for $85 chucks. If you're trying to clean the white sections of the shoe, try using a magic eraser it. It won't get it to looking like "new" kinda white, but it will take out all the dark scuffs and marks and in the end looking sorta vintage and clean.
Great video! I just got mine in grey. SO much better than the Chuck Taylor’s. No comparison. It feels like a REAL vs. FAKE to me. I’m going back to get another pair in Black. I have a converse store near my home and they said ALL Converse run long and should be sized 1/2 size down.

With my all stars, a size 8 works fine for me so I bought 70s online and they seemed too big. Should I return them and get a size smaller? Or would I just have to wait for them to break in? The major issue is it turns out the site I got them from (ssense) is Canadian and I live in the UK 😭😭
Just got a pair of chuck 70s and I love them! They’re like a cross between chuck taylors and platforms which is perfect for me 😍 edit: I forgot to mention how cushiony and comfy they feel! As for the sizing, I recommend measuring your foot then going down half a size bc they’re unisex so they run a bit big. I’m usually a 7.5 so I got a 7 and the fit is perfect. I bought mine online so I recommend trying them on in-store if you can as some ppl have reported they’re true-to-size. But if you can’t try them on just go with your true size and align it with the sizing chart! 😊
I have 2 pairs of converse ones 70 and the other is chuck Taylor for my chuck Taylor one it took me 3 weeks to break into it I just got me pair of 70s and I didn’t even need to break into them
I bought converse 70s and i test in our houseof marble suface and the traction not squeaky but the grip its grip on thr floor and the cushion idk i did not test but soon i wear it to test i did not test bcuz i need to pic that before i wear converse 70s for long walking at mall or street
Bro I love Chuck Taylors ! I got a few , and also 2 of the 70 ‘s ! They are pretty cool ❤ i got the leather ones also and they are super cool ! Easy to clean 🧼 !! 🙃🙃
Greetings from Germany! I really like your Video about the Chuck Taylor 70, and for me it's the better one, in a quality the All Star should be. But there is one thing i really don't like about it and i can't understand why Converse did that: The patch with only dark grey printed Converse All Star and the middle Star. Why didn't they keep the original blue/red colours on the patch? I think that i looks boring and not authentic...
@@KRTLyfe At the Converse Onlineshop you have the possibility to Design your Chuck 70 individually. Different colours, stitchings and also the Classic Red/blue Patch. I really want them in black with that patch, but they cost 110,- Euros with six weeks waiting time...
One thing not pointed out in this video, and this is strictly aesthetic, is the branding on the heel. The current All Star is white with All Star in a larger font. The 70 brings back the original blue branding on the heel. A nice nostalgic touch for hose off us over 50.
I have both the 70 and all star and the all star is 10 times more comfortable but 70 looks better. At school when we run laps the 70 straight up cut my feet up. But all star has more cushion and better fabric.
Loved the review! Do you know what material the stitched-on ankle patches from converse are made of? I personally don't buy things made of leather and I couldn't find any information whether they are leather or some sort synthetic material.
Great question, I cannot tell if it is natural or synthetic. I would go for the other ones if that is a deal breaker for you. It’s a screen print and you can save a few bucks… win win!
Have you tried the Chuck Taylor Street Hightop? They're like a sneaker but have a similar look to the original Chuck Taylor. They're allot better made and sell for $60
hey brother I still have the chuck taylors I am wondering if I should buy the chuck 70s the chuck taylors squeeze my fingers when I put them on and they are my size, the chuck 70s are the same thickness as the tips of the fingers ? Or do I have to choose a slightly larger number, I don't know if you can explain it to me, regards!
I understand, for me I’m a fan of minimalist shoes so these work great. I have also been experimenting with using them as running shoes. So far so good!
I was plan to buy Converse 70s and i touch the insole in low cut 70s and super plush like Skechers foam and i like the 70s outsole bcuz looks like durable and grip compare to all star is slippery and not durable but is lighter compare 70s others comment the 70s are heavy bcuz of the canvas and lace and outsole plus the midsole
bro sorry to ask for your opinion between chuck taylor 70's high and chuck taylor all star high (LEATHER) which one is better in terms of look, comfort & durability ??
I personally always prefer the canvas Chucks over leather. The canvas just looks better IMHO. If I was going leather I would definitely go for Common Projects.
When I look for inches/cm I should take a half size bigger size... I dont get when people say we should take smaller ones. Because when I look for inches, they are actually smaller than Vans. Please help
If you wear all stars long enough it gets hard as a board, 70’s stay comfortable. I love the classic look of all stars but they uncomfortable af, especially if you are a walker. Vans are better than all stars.
Hi, everyone ! I have a question for the experts: I bought chuck t 70 and from original distributor and they seem to me a little light. (They made in China) but they are oryginal. It seems to me that the one’s made in China are worse then in India or USA ..it it true ?
Got 4 years out of my 70s before the toe cap started separating from the canvas below it, great shoes

Bro I love Chuck Taylors ! I got a few , and also 2 of the 70 ‘s ! They are pretty cool ❤ i got the leather ones also and they are super cool ! Easy to clean 🧼 !! 🙃🙃
I just got the new pink ones and there hella nice I just can’t figure out how to make the laces look nice
I try to keep my laces flat but they do have a tendency to roll for some reason.
So do you wear a half size down like you do in regular chucks or do they run try to size
I love your beanie! Can you please tell me where its from? Thank you!
Also, thank you for the video. It definitely convinced me to buy!
If I remember correctly it’s from H&M.
That is a good point! Now that you mention it. It would look really cool in color.
@@KRTLyfe At the Converse Onlineshop you have the possibility to Design your Chuck 70 individually. Different colours, stitchings and also the Classic Red/blue Patch. I really want them in black with that patch, but they cost 110,- Euros with six weeks waiting time...
Tinley Park needs to make a Converse outlet store in Tinley Park
I agree, the world definitely needs more converse stores! There is only 1 in my area and its almost an hour drive!
Don't really know about converse but i know that vans made a special shoes for vegans which is made of non- animals material only
Have you tried the Chuck Taylor Street Hightop? They're like a sneaker but have a similar look to the original Chuck Taylor. They're allot better made and sell for $60
I haven’t seen them but, I will check them out. Thanks for the recommendation.
the all stars are always comfy if you have flat feet or just rough feet
Where’s the long term review at? ;D
hey brother I still have the chuck taylors I am wondering if I should buy the chuck 70s the chuck taylors squeeze my fingers when I put them on and they are my size, the chuck 70s are the same thickness as the tips of the fingers ? Or do I have to choose a slightly larger number, I don't know if you can explain it to me, regards!
The All Stars are available in wide sizing if that is what you mean. IDK if the 70’s are available in wide sizing.
I bought a pair of chucks but for some reason they feel a bit smaller than the old model. Shoul I ask for a bigger size on this shoes?
Seen a few videos on the 70’s and no one mentions how the sole is thick so it makes the shoe feel thigh.
I used to wear them in my younger days but I bought a pair of converse I could only wear for a hour because of NO ARCH support
I understand, for me I’m a fan of minimalist shoes so these work great. I have also been experimenting with using them as running shoes. So far so good!
im sort of a mininalist kinda guy and i only have two pair of shoes and i go out alot should i get the orignal all stars or the 70s?
Definitely the 70s
Boss, would you say the chuck Taylor all stars in general run true to size ? I’m looking to buy me a pair I just don’t know what’s the sizing
I would recommend trying them on in store first.
Great vid bro thanks for the explanation
Thank you! I sincerely appreciate it! Thank you for watching.
I just ordered the beige version
I think you will absolutely love them! Thanks for watching commenting and subscribing!
love the black all stars more for some reason! they classic
i wear regular models of converse and should i size up for chuck 70s
I would suggest your regular size but every one is different.
Thanks for watching commenting and subscribing!
Man said 85 dollar shoes are affordable but I can barely afford 40 dollar shoes
I can’t even find regular chuck Taylor’s in my local shoe stores!
Yeah its weird. IDK what is going on with converse supply chain.
I wear 12 US in Nike Air Max 90 and 12-12,5US in Nike Blazer mid 77. Which Chuck 70 size will fit me? I have average width feet
You are going to have to do what I did and look at the sizing chart and make your best educated guess.
Just found out about 70s, where have these been all my life?
When I look for inches/cm I should take a half size bigger size... I dont get when people say we should take smaller ones. Because when I look for inches, they are actually smaller than Vans. Please help
If you wear all stars long enough it gets hard as a board, 70’s stay comfortable. I love the classic look of all stars but they uncomfortable af, especially if you are a walker. Vans are better than all stars.
I agree vans are the most comfortable shoes on the market but I cant seem to get more than a year out of them.
Converse more comfy than vans
I am wearing all stars for 3 years daily for college washed them 3-4 time in washing machine😅😂 and still looks good
Hi bro, what beanie are you using?
I think its a cheap H&M beanie from years ago! Ironically it hasn’t fallen apart!
I've tried All Star UK8 and it's great fit so when coming to Chuck 70s do I need to half size down UK7.5 or can I go with UK 8?
Chucks are big so get a size lower
Which one can I buy for both summer and winter..?
That is very subjective, personally I prefer the 70.
I have a chuck 70s but they're crushing my pinky toe should I get an all star or chuck 70s?
I don’t like the thick sole. IMO the best choice is the chuck all star skate shoe. Tougher, more comfortable, and closer profiles to the original.
Does the thicker dole make it harder to bend the shoe and walk freely?
Hi, is your chucks in size US 8 or UK 8?
Size 8 US.
Can u try converse x BASQUIAT chuck taylor
Please
We will look into it, thank s for the recommendation.
are they good for wide feet? should you size up or down
That is a great question, unfortunately I cannot answer that for you.
@@Convultus no they only have a wide version for the all stars unfortunately
The most underrated sneakers of all time.
Absolutely, I actually ran 3 miles in them. It wasn’t bad at all. considering using these in my running shoe rotation.
Can I put chuck 70 through heavy use ? like everday college ?, how long will they last ?
Sure, why not?
Thanks for the video!
You're welcome and thank you for watching commenting and subscribing!
What size shoe do you wear usually?
EURO 41 US 8.5
Hi, everyone ! I have a question for the experts: I bought chuck t 70 and from original distributor and they seem to me a little light. (They made in China) but they are oryginal. It seems to me that the one’s made in China are worse then in India or USA ..it it true ?
I didn’t know any converse are made in the US anymore. Most of the ones I have are made in Vietnam.
