Having scoured the internet for a review of Huel meal replacement in terms of how it fits into a normal lifestyle, using it to replace some, but not all, meals, I returned empty handed. So i decided to make my own introduction, how it works for weight loss, how it fits into my lifestyle and how to make it taste better.
I've made a follow up to this video here: • Huel: A Normal Person'... and a set of FAQ's: • Huel: A Normal Person'...

Came for the Huel review. Going away craving a Korean fried chicken sandwich 😂😂
It was a good sandwich, even if I say so myself! Glad you liked it!
@@LittleTipple that sandwich looked banging!! 😋
That was one sexy sandwich!
That sandwich keeps me up at night longing for more
Im watching from America and hearing you say “clinically obese” did *not* match my definition
I think that clinically obese has the same definition, I.e anything over a certain BMI, but you’re right, my idea of American obese (and to be honest, my idea of obese generally) is quite different from the clinical definition!🤣😂
The media skews it with their b-roll when they show footage of people who are morbidly obese when talking about obesity.
@@ZeonicBlader aka the average American.

2 scoops per 450ml water, blended, put in the fridge the night before (letting it settle will thicken it up, but ever so slightly) for the morning means I can grab it and go. It’s a pretty decent consistency, keeps me full for about 4 hours. I’ve been using huel for approx a year, super convenient.
Sounds good! And glad it’s working out for you - love the convenience of it! Thanks for watching!
If I wanna drink it once every morning, how much should I buy? Need help plese. Is one pack for £40 enough for a month?
Karan Gurung if you’re only drinking once a day, and 3 scoops, then a bag will give you 14 days worth. If you’re drinking 2 scoops, then it will give you 23 days worth...
And did you lose some weight?
Love how serious and highly skeptical his attitude is to start, and every update he can’t help but smiling talking about his experience, love the vid 👍🏼
always start sceptical! Glad you loved it!
Finally a video that doesn't feel like a 10min ad!
Finally a non over the top Huel review. Cheers, I will try this!
Sill Wuka so glad you liked it! Was getting so fed up with the extreme reviews!
@@LittleTipple Hey mate to be fair mine was pretty normal as well: ua-cam.com/video/w3e3z1TUW-0/v-deo.html
uhhh... yep. definitely normal. that's definitely the word I'd use to describe it! Great video though!
I second that . 🙋🏻♀️ thank you for this review
This bloke is too interesting to be normal.
Mark Lawton that might be the greatest compliment I’ve ever received!

It's at 9 minutes btw where you start to see what Huel is, it being made and reviewed.
Thank you!

Just watched this video as well as your part 2 for like the 3rd time. I’m very happy that someone took the time to experiment and gather all of this information together. I watch these kinds of informational videos at night because the sheer amount of information overloads my brain and puts me to sleep, plus they say you retain the most information when you “learn” more right before you go to bed. Your voice is very relaxing and you seem like a very straightforward, kind, likable guy. I’m from Texas myself, but I have several online friends from the UK, so I did understand most of your terms for things. I especially liked when you said the first few days on Huel were “windy” and I laughed for a good 5 minutes.
I’m very happy that you’ve got so much from it! Late night viewing is a good time to watch them, it really does help load the brain up! And you’re too kind, thank you! Glad you understood my terms, was a bit worried! I’m going to do a kind of “one year on, and review of the banana flavour” in a little while, just thought it’d be useful to catch up!
Little Tipple Do you have any tips for how to make the flavor not taste like dirt? I can’t actually drink Huel, I have to kind of pinch my nose and force myself to “glug” it down really quickly. I’ve ordered some mocha and caramel flavor boosts, but I’m not sure if they’ll help or not. The chocolate powder by itself is not great and the vanilla is only slightly better than the chocolate. When I first tried Huel, I honestly tasted like dirt. It tastes really grainy or gritty. Do you recommend only drinking it with a banana or just making it thicker? Also do you freeze your bananas ahead of time or just throw them in there at room temperature?
@@gdoggy121 the chocolate suffers from a strong "stevia" taste - it's sweet, but with a distinct bitter aftertaste. the coffee one is better, if you like coffee, but the trick is adding a little sweetness without adding too many calories - banana's do work well, and smooth out the texture slightly - i either add a fresh banana and some ice, or frozen banana. using skimmed milk works well as well for the texture, and putting it in a blender works wonders for the texture... peanut butter in the blender can also help with the flavour and texture, but again, make sure you don't add too much to make the calorie counting less useful...
Hey man, this was a great review. Finally someone with a balanced perspective who like myself will be using it to fill in only a few meals a week on my normal plant based diet. Right now I've got my order set to ship me a new batch every three months....
I'm going to have my first huel shake on Thursday night. Pulling a double at work and will be great to get me through the evening without having to load up my backpack with more food.
I'm so glad you found the review helpful! Let me know how you get on on thursday!
Finally a real review... You can tell he’s being 100% genuine and non biased which I haven’t found elsewhere. Thanks 🙏
Thank you, glad you found it helpful!
Im on my third huel meal right now, Just got my box yesteday! I replaced my dinner with the chocolate one and boy was that hard to stomach, I had to chase every minor sip of the chocolate with 3 gulps of water to avoid gagging, my 2nd meal was alot more pleasant, I used the vanilla one, this time using a blender, I added peanut butter to make it have a less grainy texture, and sweetened it with bananas, I was able to drink more than half of it for lunch like a normal drink and was actually kind of enjoying it, it got really hard after it started to lose its ice cold temperature. Im currently drinking my 3rd one for dinner, i revisited the chocolate and this time dissolved the poweder into milk, adding peanut butter, bananas, and honey, and although Id rather be eating solid food, It isnt terrible, and I love the lite feeling you have throughout the day while substituting 2 meals a day for huel, never again will you feel lethargic and heavy after a greedy lunch or dinner, I feel much more energized, quick on the feet, and lighter in general, and this has made my workouts far easier. If you are thinking about trying huel, keep in mind you will have to FORCE yourself to drink this grainy texture and experiment your own recipes to find a combination you can stomach, if thats worth it for you then huel definitly might be for you, it is fitting into my work schedule quite well, if you have any questions fire away!!
yeah, it really needs to be cold to be best, and you do get used to it after a while, but the texture isn't the best - you could look at Queal - it's slightly more expensive, but the texture is definitely better - there's a review on my channel. Skimmed milk is a great option - it doesn't add any calories, but makes the texture better, just be aware that anything else you're adding into it will add extra calories, so just take that into account. Let me know if you're finding it any easier!
Thanks for the warning. I'm going to be trying Huel for the first time soon and I was thinking about getting the chocolate since I really like chocolate. Sadly I don't have a blender or any plans to get one soon, but since I recently started going to the gym again I really would like the convenience of using Huel just on the days I visit the gym.
Do you consider yourself as someone who is able to eat foods you dont like though? I've heard some complaints about taste/texture but then I've also heard that someone who's accustomed to how protein shakes taste will be pretty much expecting what they get from huel. Would you say that's accurate, or it's worse than most protein shakes?
@@Nova-qn9se hey thought I'd give my 2 cents.
I've literally just tried my 1st Huel shake (vanilla with peanut butter and a banana). Where you said "if you've tried protein shakes before, you know what you're expecting" - I'd say this is accurate in terms of the grainy/powdery texture/taste.
It's definitely not the worst shake I've tried, it was fairly decent. A lot to stomach but decent.
@@Yasminh159 yeah I agree, I'm pretty used to bad tasting things so some of them are almost good. I just tried the vanilla caramel, favorite so far
This video is great, I feel the exact same about how I'd like to use Huel, just as an easy method to eat breakfasts etc.
Thanks for the review, lots of useful info to help me make my choice!
Nice one mate! Just ordered 2 bags of the Black, want to try it just to supplement my diet when I’m short on time. Really helpful thank you
Exactly the kind of review I was looking for. Thankyou!
Amber Stock thank you too! Glad I could help!
Great video, totally agree on the lack of information around how to make Huel up and the ratios. I've ended up blending (for consistency) and using 1ltr of water, three scoops of original vanilla and three tea spoons of instant coffee. Tastes a bit like coffee cake.
Sounds good! might have to try that out! And hopefully, with more people mentioning this, they might make the information available more easily!
I found this very useful thank you so much. Me and my partner have just ordered our a couple days before seeing this video and this is probably the most helpful information I have seen in regards to adding it to a normal every day person. We just wanted to avoid skipping breakfast for our works now that we are trying to live a healthier life style. All for self betterment. Thumbs up from me man good work. =]
Corvus Glaive thank you so much! Let me know how you get on with it! Which flavours did you go with...?
Little Tipple I went with the chocolate and vanilla ( the new vanilla not original). So far I’m on my day one of it after doing breakfast and having Huel for lunch after the gym and had a banana and drank water rather than tea. I have found it very filling and only tried chocolate flavour so far but tastes like a not so sweet chocolate ready brek. For me this is a plus, currently very happy. Will have to let you know in a week or two how I feel fitting it around my work and social life. Thank you again mate
@@Andyyybeeeee you're so welcome! glad you're liking it!
Thanks for doing the review. I've been wanting to try Huel for a while.
So glad you liked it - let me know how you get on!
Wow, super helpful cause as you said I’ve only ever heard, “oh it’s the best thing ever” or “ it’s the worst thing ever”. So thanks for doing a honest sensible review.
In search of a regular guy's take about HÜEL. Took in an ear of his personal view plus a slick expression for (overeating/ fix too much food): "over cater" . Thank you, Little Tipple.
You’re so welcome! Hope I helped give you what you were looking for!
Thank you for the simple review. I keep seeing the Facebook ads about it and was curious about an actual use review video.
you're so welcome - it's a great system to add a little simplicity to your day, but all the reviews seem to insist you have to use it for every meal...
People say it’s cheap it’s not really. If you have a family of four and your food shop is £130 a week I cannot just spend £60-70 on myself can I 😂😂. Regards to what it’s like. It is brilliant stuff. Gives you a boost of energy through the day and keeps you hydrated. It’s good when you have physical jobs and you want to work through your break like on building sites doing price work etc or if your a personal trainer who has a lot of clients so it’s good for when your busy etc. but it’s hard to stick to. After a few weeks you start to get bored of it. That’s my take on it when I used to do it. So in my opinion if your on a budget and have a family it’s abit selfish to fork out an extra £60 on top of your food bill just for yourself. People say m it will save you money but in my experience it doesn’t when youve got a family. And it does get abit boring after a while and it’s hard to sustain however I must admit it is very good at giving you energy and making you feel full and keeping you going. It’s also good at replacing protein shakes as it’s cheaper then them and you get more benefits out of it like the minerals and vitamins and the black pack has more protein in it then most shakes do. Plus if your bulking you can use this stuff to your benifits as well as cutting. So I highly recommend it for people who are into weight lifting etc.
I thought it was an excellent knife choice!! solid video mate

D Torres I’m so glad you liked it - relaxed is definitely the vibe I’m aiming for!
I have Huel for breakfast every morning. I add almond milk instead of water and a little bit of frozen fruit and a squirt of Mio Caffeine flavoring, I've been doing it for 6 months so far and can't imagine my life without it now.
It just makes the mornings so much easier, right?
Does it make you feel full? how long until you get hungry again? I'm considering buying this to keep at work as I usuall don't have enough time for a proper lunch.

I just got a Garmin fenix to track my energy output, and I am now looking to track my nutrition. It's hard being gone all week so, here's hoping this makes one aspect of it all a bit easier and less packed with sugar and caffeine.
Thanks for the review.

I've just been looking into this and wanted a non biased review and you've persuaded me to give it a go
I’m so glad you found it helpful - that’s pretty much exactly why I did the video - just wanted to give my honest opinion on it!
@@LittleTipple thinking of ordering coffee and mint chocolate..are they the best flavours?
Frank Baker I really like the coffee - that’s my go to - I’d say the mint chocolate is good, but wouldn’t be my choice every day - I also haven’t tried their premixed mint chocolate, only the flavour sachet in the vanilla base... you could maybe order a mix of vanilla and coffee, and get a mint choc sachet, or the flavour sampler...?
@@LittleTipple thanks buddy

Thanks for making this video, i was searching everywhere for a good review and ive found it right here. Plus your channel seems really fun so i'm definitely gonna sub and check more vids.
Thank you for watching! I found exactly the same thing, so I decided I just needed to do my own - way too many either saying it’s the best thing ever, or worst thing ever, and IMHO, it does what it does, and if you want it for that reason, it’ll work well! Thanks for the sub too! Let me know how you get on with the Huel!
Just bought two bags of berry Huel and I'm watching Huel videos as I wait for my order to come. :D
I'm gonna go full Huel. I find making food very boring and too time consuming.
...and I have to go to grocery shopping too often because of this.
I also hate how much trash cooking makes. All that plastic and carton packages from packed meats, veggies, milk products and frozen foods.
I forget to drink enough water so having my nutrients and calories in liquid form is excellent!
Aaah so excited!
Amazing! sounds like you've got it all sorted out! hope you enjoy it - let me know how you get on!
How'd it go for you?
Very informative. Thank you. -Erin
Fantastic video. I picked up Soylent with a similar expectation, hoping to replace a meal or two for convenience instead of eating out for lunch and if I can lose a couple of pounds a month, I'll be happy, but certainly not dropping dinners, and also need to watch portion control. Extremely helpful, thanks!
You're so welcome, glad I could help! Just about to release a video comparing all the meal replacements I've tried so far - I've tried the soylent ready to drinks, but not tried their powders yet - how was it?
@@LittleTipple I actually enjoyed it. There are two ways that I describe it, and people have seemed to agree:
1. The texture (if properly shaken), is like a super watered down pancake batter; I don't find mine as thick but I use one scoop and a full water; plus I use a shaker bottle and ice cubes and it works wonders.
2. The taste is like one of those cheap chocolate coated donuts; not the powder kind but the dipped in chocolate kind. Your initial drink will taste more doughy, then the aftertaste is chocolate.
Overall it's not bad, I take mine with a Hydroxycut in the morning, but I fast during lunch, and then I eat a normal portioned dinner (that was the hardest part); and I've lost a couple of pounds, but overall just feel better, and have been sleeping great.
Good review. Thanks!
Thank you for the real experience
Appreciate this sir! Thank you for making a video about Huel that isn't just silly click bait! :)
Great review - thanks man!
You’re so so welcome! Glad you liked it!
Thanks for the referral code I’ve just signed up and the code is still working like a treat! Great videos aswell. Keep up the good work!
Thank you so much!
Cheers for this! I’ve been thinking about doing this for quite a while now, but I guess the price and the possibility of feeling hungry/having stomach cramps from it have put me off so far. But I reckon I might give it a shot at least once, if for nothing else than to satisfy my curiosity!
One question though: you take it to replace breakfast and lunch (3 scoops for each?) - how long does the packet last you?
Thanks a lot! Look forward to seeing if you stick with it :)
Definitely worth trying, and I think the cost side is worth it - I know I've saved money just on not buying lunches every day. Emma and I have both been using it, me nearly every day for breakfast and lunch, and Emma about 4 days a week for lunch - we've gone through 2 packets so far in a month. So i'd say you should easily get about 3 weeks for 2 meals a day out of each bag, if it's just you.
Super helpful. Personally i find i get a better texture if i pre mix it the night before and let it thicken in the fridge overnight. The energy balls in the booklet are also really good for an additional snack for work.
Natasha Coates I shall give them a go - I tried the curried soup today - think I didn’t use enough water, but generally good! And that’s a good plan for the mix consistency!
@@LittleTipple I might have to give the curry a go! Can I be cheeky and ask for your chicken sandwich recipe? It looks amazing!
Natasha Coates so definitely use at least 150ml water per scoop for the curry, and it works best with the unsweetened one... and as for the sandwich - it’s super simple: brioche bun, fried chicken (you can make your own proper fried chicken, but I love the M&S Katsu fillets, makes it much easier) coleslaw and sriracha sauce - delicious!
I mix mine with toasted coconut almond milk, and already mixed veggie/fruit smoothies...so good. Week two for me! I have no idea how much weight I've lost but my clothes are looser.
That's amazing news - well done you! and I think that's a far healthier measure than weighing! and your recipes sound great!
My first Huel order is arriving tomorrow and I’m pretty excited. Right now I’m eating cereals for breakfast, just because it’s the quickest thing I can do in the morning. Huel is hopefully a cheaper and way more nutritional alternative for me.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts and experiences!

@@LittleTipple It tastes better than expected and so far I like Huel a lot. Ironically a flat mate of mine probably contracted covid this week, so my entire dorm floor has to quarantine and there my two bags of Huel come in very handy.
Looking forward to trying more flavours tho. Ordered vanilla and the original one, but the original taste is kinda boring (which was expected, but I was just curious), the vanilla one however is great imo.
Also I got super lucky, because they introduced new scoops just a few weeks ago, so I got the new scoop generation instead of the old one for free :D

Great video, definitely influenced my decision to purchase huel. I have a couple of questions to ask you.
Maybe a silly question but if you were to mix one up with fruit in the morning then go to work, do you think it would go weird if not touched until lunch? (Obv would shake before drinking)
Also can you let us know on the berry? My mate had it and said don’t bother it’s horrible, idk how bored I’ll get of vanilla though.
Dan Hyde I reckon you’d be fine with the fruit, especially if you can chill it before drinking! And briefly on the berry - the flavour is good, but it seems to have a slightly more “powdery” texture than the regular - I’m glad I’ve got it as an alternative to the vanilla... but I’ll cover it all in an update!
Little Tipple look forward to it. Thanks for the fast response. I loved how you mentioned the huel snobbery made me laugh as when my friend first had it he wouldn’t stop telling me to buy it
Dan Hyde you’re so welcome - and that’s why I made the video - the obsessiveness in both directions is hilarious!

excellent review. I ended up getting one vanilla and one chocolate. I am going to add this to my diet since I am trying to keep my weight up and honestly don't have the time to eat enough in a day.

Used Huel for well over a year off and on, couldn't really get to grips with the excess water in my system which often caused me a little bowel discomfort. A few months back I moved over to using growli muesli. Much happier and healthier as a result, it is a proper meal not a shake
Thank you so much for the information - had a look at the website, it’s amazing how much this comment reads just like the copy from there! You must really love it!
@@LittleTipple yeah it's pretty good. Not cheap though
Thank you for this useful review. Just a quick question. Did you find yourself put weight back on after you finished? And did you change habits?
I didn't put the weight back on thankfully - I'm still maintaining where I got to, which I'm happy with - i tend to have Huel for breakfast most mornings now, and occasionally for lunch, but it definitely taught me how much I need to eat to be full and satisfied, rather than just gorging myself... Glad you liked it, and you're very welcome!
@@LittleTipple I've placed my first order. £32 for 28 meals, vanilla and a banana one with free shirt and shaker. Plan is porridge in the morning, shake in work and normal meal in the evening. You're so welcome!
I bought the chocolate huel powder. I put an extra teaspoon of hershey's cocoa powder, and one packet of monk fruit sweetener (any would work)...tastes damn good.
Ramson Cole sounds like a good plan - like the idea of the fruit sweetener! It’s not sounding like a UK thing - will see if I can find it!
Your video was very interesting and I am particularly interested in how your Mum is doing with it. My son talked about it and so I decided to try it. It's been a few weeks, I do not need to lose weight, but I tend to skip meals rather than cook now that I am retired, never liked cooking, never liked eating much as a kid. I only use 2 scoops and sometimes put in mixed greens. Have the vanilla. Met a nutritionist who said it is important to chew food to get the enzymes working which beging digestion, so I nibble nuts while sipping it.=)
Your experience almost exactly reflects my mums - she's also retired. she doesn't use it every day, but she uses it for meal replacement when it's easier to do that rather than cook, and that sounds like a good mix you're using, i like the idea of mixed greens! let me know how you get on with it!
I've been throwing an espresso shot in it in the morning. enjoying that! So you did 3 scoops twice a day (plus a meal)? This is gonna sound silly, but I did 2 scoops twice a day (lunch and dinner) and thought that would satisfy me. lol I'm around 86 kg. I was damn hungry still obviously! I'm on my 3rd day. I was relieved to hear you say what you took, plus a meal on top of that! :) Will try the blender! I like that i will save money on meals, and get a hassle free quick meal.
Ben Bigelow yeah, that’s definitely not going to be enough (think that’s about 600 calories a day!) yeah - I wonder if I was stricter about my evening meal that might have more of an impact! And yep, the cost and time savings are immense!
So I've just checked my figures, and in the UK at least, 1 scoop of huel is 38g, 153 calories. so initially he said he was only having 4 scoops a day, and din't suggest he was having any whole food - so 612 calories a day is gonna leave him feeling pretty unfulfilled - but you're absolutely right, 800 calories of huel + whole food sounds like a good plan! hoping Ben is now also taking on whole food too! Thanks for watching and reading!
Hey, did you get the "Original" Vanilla flavour or the one that's listed as "Vanilla" and says it's a new recipe?
Liam hi Liam, I got the Vanilla new recipe, rather than the original!

Had it after an op.. it helps with hair after a big op... if your hair get brittle or starts falling out! This helped thicken mine up again... had a lot of colon removed and my body couldn’t absorb the nutrients it needed.
I went on it and found mixing it with an egg or two... adding milk or water... a spoonful of sage n onion stuffing! ( yeah... I’m all for quick short cuts! Lol! 🤣😂🤣). and mixing into an omelette mixture... top it with cheese or sweet corn... and have this every other day helped with the nutrition... hope that helps someone... after a colon removal you can’t gain weight... but it’s a big help in the mineral replacement... I used it for a time ... but one bag lasted me months lol! As it was too filling ... but if your hair needs thickening it does really help give it what it needs! Good luck all 🌟

sounds like you've got a good plan in mind, and don't worry about the referral, I'm, just glad the video could help!
I just want to say thank you for the video. It helps a lot of people who are considering Huel, like myself. I’m considering trying this. My goal is to lose weight. Could this replace all meals or do you really need to have an actual meal? I’d love to just use Huel but I don’t know if it’s recommended?
Absolutely, you can use just Huel - they’ve designed it so it has everything you might need - I think I’d find it difficult to not have anything else from the eating point of view, but you absolutely can if you want to!
Little Tipple thanks Tipple. I’m going to give this a go 👍
DAN KYLE excellent, let me know how you get on!
Great videos on Huel, enjoyed them both. Can you do a review on the new 'Ready to Drink ' Huel ?
Can do! I’m away for the next couple of weeks, but I’ll sort one soon! So glad you like them!
Is it normal to still taste the power? Like I make it 1000% the same as every guide but just tastes a bit powdery. Also is it normal to feel sick (like you are going to be sick) after your first few shakes? I guess it's my body getting used to it. Any help would be great!
Yep, it kind of always tastes a bit powdery, especially with the berry flavour... if you leave it in the fridge for an hour or so before drinking it improves... and yep - it’s your body getting used to just having fluid in your stomach - it’d be the same if you just drank a litre of water on an empty stomach - but it resolves relatively quickly!
@@LittleTipple Thank you so much for the reply! I was worried but I understand, hopefully the powdery bits will die if I blend it instead of shake!
And now I’m hungry, bring on the Saracha sauce!
that was a particularly good lunch...
This might just have me on board for trying it out - thanks!
You’re so welcome! Let me know how you get on!
@@LittleTipple So - I got vanilla and chocolate. The vanilla has to have something done with it or I can't finish it - it's DEFINITELY too sweet. The chocolate is fine on it's own (dare I say, tasty af) but I do love that little trick of mixing it with instant coffee to get a pseudo iced-coffee thing going. I only felt a little ill at my stomach the first day, but that's probably because I had 4 scoops within like 3-4 hours of each other. I think it keeps me full longer than I expected but I need to snack every once in a while. I plan to start doing more experimentation with adding stuff like you did next week!
Hey Ben, your video was exactly what I was looking for and certainly sold me on the product. I wanted you to know that the discount code did not work, I also live in NYC, so that could potentially be a reason.
In any case, cheers!
Yeah, I think the code only works in the UK, sorry! So glad you liked it, and that it was helpful! Let me know how it gets on!
Thanks! I found a single bottle at sainsburys, so I'll give it a go! THANKS
The powder make at home version is better.
So. Let's say I need 1600 kcal a day. That's equal to 4 meals a day. 8 bags are 136 meals. I can last 136 / 4 = 34 days. I pay 1,36 € per meal. Since there are some hidden values, I have to pay 186,00 € instead of my own calculated value of 184,96 €. They probably do something like 1,369 € per meal and round it down. If I needed 2000 kcal a day, I would need 5 meals. The point I'm trying to make is, I don't need 186,00 € a month for food. I could probably just mix my own kind of "huel" and it would be just as good. They even say it's a complete food and not a diet.
So is it a meal replacement? I thought it was a protein shake that I’d add to my diet and drink after the gym?
Thanks for this , great video
Thank you! let me know how you get on if you get some!
Well yeah I got some and I am impressed at how well it’s working. No side effects for me
Sam Bresland that’s amazing! So glad it’s working well!
That Korean fried chicken sandwich almost killed me lol
Was a good sandwich - so tasty! But that is the last one I’ve had since I made the video! Might need one this week!
Nice review. I think I’ll get it mostly for the convenience factor.
Hi there, enjoyed your unbiased review. Is it normal to be told, "there is a delay, you will be emailed", which never happens? I've tried a few times now. Is this normal, due to high demand after your sterling videos? Should say I'm talking about the referral to Huel. Thanks
yeah, that seems to be normal now, they're still be processed, just seems to take a while, and they don't always seem to be the quickest at responding... i got the quickest response from them through instagram, although they weren't immediately helpful, they helped resolve the issue eventually. Glad you liked the review though, even if their service isn't always as speedy as it should be!
Little Tipple Ah same happened to me!! I got in touch with them and they said that if I give them your name and email address they’ll generate a referral code for me.. but I don’t have it, so I think I’m kinda stuck 😱
Vinnosaur so essentially, a few weeks back, initially they told me I had overused the link (the official small print says overuse is defined at 10,000 in a year, 1000 in a day... I’ve had 50 referrals). Then referrals started coming in again, so I figured it was fixed. Now it seems to be back to this point. I have emailed them repeatedly with no reply, but I did get through to them on Instagram, but was not met brilliantly positively. At the moment I recommend the product, but I’m struggling to recommend the customer service.
Little Tipple I see!! Well, I’ll wait a bit longer and see if the code comes through otherwise I’ll just have to give it a go without the referral code. Thanks for explaining it all though, at least I know why now 🤙🏻
i'm going to see how i can contact someone properly within the company - it is getting a little annoying now.
Cool video thank you!
Thanks for an honest review!
Are you still using it ? If so how’s it going?
I am - although I’m swapping between Huel and Queal for the occasional flavour change, so it doesn’t get too samey! Didn’t use it as much during lockdown, but back on it again now to lose those lockdown pounds! Thanks for your comment!
Good review!
Just tried the chocolate version from Sainsburys. Expensive, £3.50 for a 500ml bottle however it wasn't as vile as the ingredients led me to believe.
Probably the thickest consistency meal replacement drink I've ever drunk but it has left me feeling full. Won't need to eat until tomorrow, just waiting for the thunderstorm...
Phil I haven’t tried the ready mixed from Sainsbury’s - will look into it! Glad you enjoyed it! That does seem expensive, although I suppose a sandwich/wrap would be about the same price... hope you survive the storm!
"Thank You", thank you very much 😀 I received 2 packages (3.9lbs) of the "Vanilla Flavor" today. I will starting Monday morning, with a mix of HUEL Vanilla and oatmeal mix (nuts, berries, raisins and banana pieces). My goal is to loose weight, and lower my A1C (sugar level), get more fit 😎🤔😎
You’re so welcome! Let me know how you get on!

How is it going ?
@@MrLebragard Hello, ALL is going well. I REALLY like the Vanilla favor. I eat breakfast and lunch 😎😀😎
@@Inquire98 Good to know, and your weight ?
You take one shaker for breakfast and one for lunch ?
Really helpful video dude.
nathan Board thank you - glad it was useful!
Thanks !
I ordered it because Im currently studying a lot and dont have time and nerve to cook. Studying while starving sucks so I hope I will like the taste.
How did you get on?
@@LittleTipple It tastes suprisingly good. Unlike most protein powders I actually like this one better with water rather than milk, because then it is less sweet. If I mix 800 calories it also feeds me for quite a while.
Ordered 3 black bags the chocolate, coffee caramel and banana 👍👍
Can u add the powder 1st then water. Seems a mission to take the whole powder packet to work just for lunch. Just to add the powder after the water
Jut77 absolutely you can - just make sure you shake it really well - I find I get some unmixed powder if I do it that way... equally, you could mix it at home at take it with you - it’ll happily last in the fridge from morning until lunch (and if anything, the textures even smoother...)
Thank you
Love the huel add for a huel video lol
Is it actually filling though? Can you use this to replace a meal amd not be hungry afterwards
Hey Josh - I've just done an update to this video, about the huel black - I've found the huel black fills me better, because it's more protein based, but even the original filled me pretty well - I'd get hungry when it was getting to the next time to eat, but that seems about right to me...
A great review, the portion sizes helped. Think ive been putting too much in mine. 400ml and 3 scoops lol.
That's gonna be a thick shake! how're you liking it so far?
So, I'm 4 years after the fact, do you still use Huel, and have your opinions changed? I realize I'm a little late for new years resolutions, but I guess it's never too late. I'm obese, and before I get into my 30s, it's time I make a change. I really liked your idea of 2 Huel meals a day, and then a 3rd normal meal, that would actually fit quite well with my lifestyle as well, I normally eat breakfast and lunch at work, and dinner at home, I feel for sure this will be really convenient at work. For me, the taste isn't all too important since i never really minded the blandish taste of protein shakes, I am lactose intolerant though so the whey protein powders tend to not agree well. Anyways, just wanted to know if you still used and recommend it. :)
I want to use your discount code but it won't let me unless I know your surname, so what is it please? Or is there a way to use the code without knowing your surname?
Connie Sanders hi there, I’m Ben Matthews, hope that helps! Let me know how you get on!
That sandwich looks bangin
It really was...
With a few green leaves -- perfect!
I bought the coffee and berry ones - your insight was super interesting and I love you idea of adding coffee to the vanilla flavour. I found the berry one to be weirdly bitter, so maybe I need to get a blender and add some actual fruit. Thanks for the honest review!
You’re so welcome! I know what you mean about the berry one - there’s definitely an odd flavour in there! Real fruit definitely makes it better!
Firstly... You was the first result when i googles Huel Review... So here i am! Second... That lunch looked amazing im so hungry now haha Im half way in and dont really know anything about the Huel product yet so as a review im holding on a litte... maybe if it was just a vlog i would understand.. either way keep it up and perhaps work on the transitions from b roll shots to you talking. Cheersssss
TechRage yeah, so I did waffle quite a bit - the next couple of videos I did are a little more to the point! But thanks for the tips! It definitely started out as a vlog, and turned into a review about halfway through the process!
I like hurl it’s just the taste is weird but i get the chocolate flavor and add insta coffee grounds to it cause I like it to be bitter
I often mix huels. I like berry on its own, but mix coffee/mint/chocolate with eachother.
That sounds like a good mix - might have to try it!
Ben, great review. I watched it then ordered Huel, used your email address for refer friend so hopefully you will receive the tenner. Cheers stuart
Thank you so much - glad you thought it was helpful! Let me know how you get on!
