Given that the voldarens and markovs are seen as the most powerful bloodlines I don't see that happening. Edgar literally created innistrad vampires in the lore so I don't think any vampire would try to fuck with him. After all he's the uncle of the man who created avacyn.
I can’t handle this season. It’s so incredibly exciting. I forgot about the twelve bloodlines - I’d be interested to see maybe a couple return, and maybe some grotesque downfall stories not unlike Falkenrath. Which, speaking of Falkenrath, it would be fantastic to see their attempt to return to greatness fail miserably again. A story of depravity and endless striving and failing by a delusional and self-aggrandizing nobility would be a one I would drink up. On the other hand, taking Sorin’s temperature, and Olivia’s movements, I’m getting big Hamlet vibes with this upcoming season. I have high hopes that he may take one more shocking stand for the salvation of the plane and kill Edgar, not only thwarting Olivia’s schemes and getting his revenge for her betrayal of him, but also accomplishing final revenge against Edgar for his abuse and corruption, specifically of Sorin himself.
@@piercearora7681 I’m back from the past looking like a hungover shadow of my former self. Shadows over Innistrad? How about Shadows Under My Eyes. Both sets were so sadly under imagined, unoriginal, and broadly meaningless. Not even a nod to Tesseya, Davriel Cain, the unnamed Angel, Rom, or any of the other great Kessigers that had lore that followed the Travails. The only bright spot was the short starring Thalia and Odric. And you’re right, what an absolutely pathetic opportunity to effect actual change in the story…but no. Sad.
I was very disappointed about the whole Sorin v Nahiri plotline, as I found it very dumb and forced in parts. but what was most jarring is that WotC just didn't give a flying fuck about it and never properly told their story and what's going on. we got a single card during War of the Spark about the two, showing that they fought each other again during the war whilst the other planeswalkers fought Bolas, but that's it. then we somehow jump directly to Nahiri back on Zendikar doing stuff and absolutely no conclusion to her previous feud against Sorin - and nobody seemingly cares about her bringing the goddamn Eldrazi to Innistrad, basically being the catalyst to a plane-wide genocide. and now with Midnight Hunt, we are back on Innistrad and the one single glimpse we get of Sorin is that of a completely different vampire. he seemingly doesn't care about Nahiri anymore, he doesn't care about Innistrad anymore and he doesn't care about what Olivia is doing? what? I get that him having to unmake Avacyn hit close to home, plus Nahiri pulling her bullshit, but this sudden shift in character doesn't fit at all. especially considering that when Nahiri trapped Sorin in stone (before WotS) Olivia took the Parasyte Blade from him, but during WotS he has it back AND it was confirmed that Sorin took the sword back from Olivia. so apparently he didn't feel that defeated to just let her have her way. so why does he let her now? the whole Midnight Hunt part with Sorin felt very forced and uncharacteristic of him. I can let is slide a bit, since he is "grieving" over Avacyn, sure, but it just doesn't feel like Sorin to me. also Arlinn somehow being able to stand up to Sorin's fury? she got hit by the Parasyte Blade too, so she should just drop dead at the spot given the sword's properties, but obviously that's not gonna happen and is just lazy writing. so far I'm pretty disappointed again. I was really hoping that WotC would finally give us some solid conclusions for Sorin in some form and let him have a spotlight again, but it seems they dropped the ball again. there's still Crimson Vow, potentially giving Sorin a couple cool moments, but for some fucking reason we get more exposition of fucking Chandra who has no business on Innistrad altogether than we get of Sorin who is basically the poster-boy of the goddamn plane.
Let's remember nihiri went to innastrad summoned emrakul and warped markov manor and killed all within because of a misunderstanding, and at no point is she shocked at the fact zendikar is still alive and kicking she murdered thousands, started a coup that lead to an angel falling from grace and potetially destroy a plane and what does she do when she sees it was all for nothing.... she shrugs like mother in law screaming at you for forgetting that all important dried ginger she NEEDS only to find it in the bag she was already looking in a minute later
