This episode was a terrific example of why it is important to learn proper threat assessment.
Depends really on your definition of important. Frankly everybody had fun, nobody was left unable to play (maybe got close with all the lifegain blocks). Yes one player won (it happens every game, it seems), and maybe they played imperfectly (guilty here as well), but "important?" Hardly. I enjoyed how this game played out.
@@chrisramsey5017 It honestly was so boring for me. Nobody else was ever close to being in a good position.
It wasn't really hard to remove the 5 power double striker that draws cards and gains life instead of the single 8/8 on the least threatening player board, and why would ashley agree to that. It really seemed like nobody was even considering the existence of ellie.
Very strange targeting. There was one clear threat on the table for the majority of the game but they kept under cutting each other in fear of retribution instead of cooperating until the threat was dealt with.

I like the whole idea of Ellie being invited by these vampires who think they've got an easy victim without them knowing that she actually commands a squadron of spirit vampire hunters.
I felt like the harder the RP the more I disliked the person, but I also just hate vampire players...
There is a distinct difference between those who role-play based on group hype and those who truly enjoy it. Thinking it's cool isn't enough for believability, sorry. Why it matters? Respect. If you say you're a thing and chose to occupy that limited space, you should probably try to be good at that thing. Just sayin.

@@samuelconsentino8547 Agreed and when they did start looking at the spirt player after her engine started........she started to get salty about it. They should have all turned there attentions onto the spirit deck once she started to put the pieces of the puzzle together. This episode was not even fun to watch as they all basically handed the game to the spirit deck and gave her the win, also that player getting salty and remaining salty throughout the game even after she became the arch enemy was a defiant buzzkill for this episode...........she was tilted the second it got pointed out that she needed to go, seriously where was all the black removal; I have been playing commander for close to a decade now and every pod with black will have tons of removal and especially white.

Probably yhey downplayed the threat of the spirit deck.

Cool game, although the threat assessment was a little wack. When someone puts out an early Urza's Incubator you need to keep an eye in their direction. That said, big props for the flavor and acting!
Usually the tribal decks are the ones to look out for and Edkar isn't that great of a vampire commander anyway so yeah no surprise the spirit deck went nuts
Lady D playing archfiend and erobos greatly help out spirit player and neither card help her, actually made players go after her.
To be fair to Josephine, if that Archfiend didn't go she was definitely going to die. Shutting off her life gain AND making her take double damage was a bit too much.
Honestly I don't think they had the cards to really do anything about it. They didn't make any awful plays.

I feel in many game knights the cast members actively avoid to attack at least one guest and then that guest wins...
I have never really been interested in EDH before binging on The Command Zone: Game Knights episodes and watching other content from you guys. To Jimmy, Josh, and everyone else a part of producing this show, thank y’all for sparking some new ways for me to be involved in the MTG community and have even more fun with it, you guys rock. :)
Comander is the only way I play almost gave up on magic til edh became a thing
@@creakwoodliege5239 I never took to edh at first because of low accessibility to a variety of cards and the task of building a 100 card deck with unique cards seemed like a struggle for me compared to making a constructed deck with allowance for copies. But The Command Zone opened my eyes to the excitement of creating more intricate combinations of effects due to the unique cards put into a deck.
THIS! As a very casaul Magic player that started buying cards in the Invasion era, I never stopped following MTG and all these new shiny things were made and Commander was one of those things I never really understood. Thanks to this channel, it looks like one hell of a good time after all!

Good episode guys. I just noticed Ashlyn missed the Syr Konrad triggers off of Olivia’s reanimate ability. Syr Konrad is better than an uncommon should be lol
I wonder if the thought of Olivia coming on and Playing Olivia ever crossed any of the teams’ minds 🤔
Knew Ellie was going to win the moment everyone decided that the Archfiend was more of a threat than drawing a ton of cards, gaining a lot of life, and getting a bunch of tokens, but had to stick around cause Josephine's voice was warm as hell. Thing was smoother than a sip of scotch while in a silk robe as someone rubs butter on your feet. I don't know why you'd want someone to butter your feet, but you get the point...
Josephine kind needed the archfiend gone since it pretty much was killing her and stopped her entire game plan. The biggest problem Josephine had was that it was either die to spirits next turn or turn off archfiend and try to play her deck.
I mean at the end of the day. The best kind of removal is player removal.
Ellie could print a lot of tokens. She can bring a lot of people down to low health. Then the archfiend will kill them off.
Lady made herself a removal magnet with that archfiend

Also, the fact that they didn't do a partnership mechanic between Edgar and Olivia was a complete flavor fail. Would've made a great Mardu setup
could have made an exclusive ability called blood oath that works like partner just for the newly wed

@@Avusui doesn't matter. Still on theme to have them partnered since they are getting married. It's just perfectly on flavor
Guys they can't just print mechanics into any set, they have rules about the way standard sets are designed. Basically partner with isn't an evergreen keyword or a keyword specific for crimson vow. It would be out of place to have a mechanic show up only once in a set, and it would be especially weird to have a commander mechanic of all things show up on a standard legal card. It's just a game design thing. You guys can always rule 0 it to allow you to have them as partners though, so enjoy that.
As a 45 yo man who has been playing the game since day 1, nothing makes me giddy like Command Zone games. The animations and roleplay are outstanding. Keep up the great work!

That spirits deck is such a hammer. Cool game...I wanted to see Henrika in action as I'm mentally brewing a deck around her as well. Josephine was an awesome choice for this one...she brought hella voice acting & vampire charisma to the table, haha

Ah, I see what you did there...... The runes at 17:11 spell out "Josephine". Those rune are part of the elder fuþark--which I'm not as familiar with as the Fuþorc, but it is similar enough where I could read every letter but the first. For instance in the Fuþorc it would be either be "ᚷᚷᚩᛋᛖᛈᚻᛁᚾᛖ"(Ggosephine)(note that the "ᛟ" is "o" in the elder Fuþark, but "œ" in the Fuþorc) or "ᚳᚷᚩᛋᛖᛈᚻᛁᚾᛖ"(Cgosephine), or if you subscribe to the theory that the digraphs for /dʒ/ ("ᚳᚷ"(Cg) and "ᚷᚷ"(Gg)) would simplifying to "ᚷ"(G) due to "ᚸ"(G) & "ᛄ"(/j/) taking the place of "ᚷ"(G) in all other use cases, it would be "ᚷᚩᛋᛖᛈᚻᛁᚾᛖ"(Gosephine). By the way, the "s" would be pronounced as a "z" because our ancestors use a rule that if an "s" is between to vowels it is pronounced as "z"(they did this because there was no rune for "z")--our ancestors might of put a double "s" when necessary to avoid this rule(I.e. "yes" --> "yessing" not "yesing") but I haven't studied enough to say that that is the case. The name might have also become anglicized because the digraph "ph"(ᛈᚻ) is non-native so it would be replaced by "f"(ᚠ)(which would be pronounced as "v" for the same reason that the "s" is pronounced as "z"(this is the reason words like "love" have an "e" at the end(in Old English the word "love" was "ᛚᚢᚠᚢ"(lufu) and in middle English it was "luve" or "love"))--which they might of added an additional "f" to avoid the rule when necessary but I have no evidence of that). It's also quite possible that the "e" at the end of "Josephine" would be removed because it can quite easily be mistaken for the Magic-E. So, after those theoretical changes it might look something like "ᚷᚩᛋᛋᛖᚠᚠᛁᚾ"(Gosseffin), "ᚳᚷᚩᛋᛋᛖᚠᚠᛁᚾ"(Cgosseffin), or "ᚷᚷᚩᛋᛋᛖᚠᚠᛁᚾ"(Ggosseffin).

I am very impressed with the animations and the overall editing in this video. If you know anything about video production, you'll know there are a LOT of hours put into this and it pays because it's an absolute joy to watch. The girls are doing great. I love the decks and their tabletalk is no less entertaining than with the guys usually. I would give more tumbs up if i could.

Awesome episode, great game and guests, and the editing and effects are so amazing !! I love the little touches, like the Sign in Blood that I'm assuming says "Josephine" in runes, and the Terminator theme on the Terminate, and of course the little skits were so good =D
