    On point, as usual! Here’s an idea for another video: workout clothes for the body types.

    I am a dramatic classic and I look beautiful with shaved hair (length about 6 to 9 millimeters). I absolutely love it because it always looks tidy and elegant and I get many compliments on it. I notice that especially sleek clothing (such as a simple black turtle neck sweater) look extremely elegant now. I am tired of always being dissatisfied with my hair because some slight tousle will look already extremely untidy on me and I absolutely love the elegance, practicability and carefreeness which comes with a buzz cut.

      Did you had short hair before? I am a DC too, but short hair looks awful on me, so i never thought about a buzz cut, but i totally get your point on looking tidy and classic with it.

      @@milliemesa Hi! Yes, I experiment with short hair for some years now because I love having short hair and the feeling of it. I look very good with a bob, but just don't feel like myself with this longer, always perfect and somewhat restrained looking hair. I actually started to cut my hair myself because I often look very bad when I come from the hair dresser, they somehow often don't get it right. For the last two years I cut and style my hair like the picture of Grace Kelly (around 6:50 in the video), but with much shorter length. I have a natural cow lick, so close to the face it looks extremely similar to the picture of Grace Kelly. I found that this suits me very well, if it is tidy and clean looking. People also liked this hair very much, other kind of pixie cuts don't suit me at all. While I love this hairstyle and will go back to it somewhere in the future, I wanted some change and decided to shave my head although I thought that I wouldn't look as nice afterwards. I am very happy that this is absolutely not the case! After shaving and noticing that I look very nice and elegant while I looked terrible in these short, cropped somewhat boyish cuts I did some thinking on this matter in regards to my dramatic classic Kibbe type. I guess that the elements of always looking perfectly together (never touseled hair no matter what) in combination with a clear face with no hairs in front of it and no noisy distraction from the hairstyle itself make it a great match. I personally don't feel that my head is now separate from my body, although I feel the need to wear some more minimalistic and elegant clothing. It is also interesting that I am getting compliments for the Overall structure of my body now and feel that the buzz cut underlines my very typical dramatic classic built, which I like very much.
      Of course I can only talk for my own experience and maybe another dramatic classic will hate a buzzcut on themselves. I have the feeling that it also dependes a lot on the vibes and personality of a person if a buzzcut will look nice or not, no matter the Kibbe type.
      I definitively learned that I can wear some styles which at the first look aren't recommended for my body type, but feel personally very drawn to when I think a bit unconventional and understand the why behind Kibbes recommondations and make them work for myself

      I'm a DC too and have very fine hair so it has been short for decades. I used to love a bob but way too fine now for that. Whenever I cut my hair super short, I get told how lucky I am that my head has a good shape. It seems to work - though I have always thought I'm a bit of a pin-head. I've always had a fringe - might try styling it up for a change.

    I'm a SN who is considering a pixie because I'm struggling with hair loss and thinning hair. I would have been interested to hear you talk about Julie Andrews, who famously always wore a pixie, or provide more options for us since I feel like it's going to be my only choice soon... but otherwise, great video as always and I've been enjoying this series!

      I'm an SN. I've worn a pixie for years, and I get a lot of compliments. I do notice that it looks better when the fullest/longest point is around my face and on top. When my neck isn't clean cut, I start looking a bit dowdy. Also, my hair has tight curls. So that may soften the look.

      Like she mentioned, she's not against it but she recommended the length not to be too short, make sure to have some volume and texture. I'm thinking a pixie bob would look decent based on her recommendations.

    I think there are a lot of variables to consider when looking at hair cuts. The width and length of face shapes, caps and features can work with it or against a pixie and hair thickness and density. You can't say a whole kibbie i.d would suit a certain hairstyle or cut. For instance, I'm always hearing Gamines always look good with pixie/short hair. I'm sure some do but Gamines don't all look exactly the same. Some Gamines have a wide jawline and a short cut would amplify the width, some have very tiny and rounded full fleshy faces and short hair would amplify the width and short length of the face giving a shrunken baby head look .

      @AngryTheatreMaker Рік тому +2

      Yes please--while I'm glad clean soft waves and curls are endorsed for Romantics and the Soft IDs, I do wonder about the IDs that might feel left out in the cold (as it were).

    • @janailic4362
      @janailic4362 Рік тому +1

      @@AngryTheatreMaker yes! There are so many options. I might be wrong, but if we follow Kibbie, curls seem to look nice on soft body types. However, it usually means polished and styled curls, not a fluffy wash'n'go, that is considered untidy or "witchy", so only SD or SN can pull it off as "relaxed" and natural. 🤯 Then again, long hair is almost forbidden for petite types, so curly hair Rs are left to choose between bob and pixy. I want to see all the possibilities. Helena Bonham Carter is short, soft, but still rocks long messy hairstyles. 🤩 Julia Roberts has very nice waves, but her hairstyle with natural texture is always shown as an example style for women with sharp dramatic face features. Mila Kunis is a TR, so waves should suit her, but every "better" example of her hairstyle is straight hair.
      Sorry for the long paragraph, but I'm a bit confused by Kibbie's "rules". 😂😂

    • @AngryTheatreMaker
      @AngryTheatreMaker Рік тому +1

      @@janailic4362 Petite IDs do seem to get the short end of the stick when it comes to long luxuriant hair--although Helena Bonham Carter is indeed a great example of a petite type rocking longer locks. For SD, long curls are definitely encouraged, albeit in a polished form. (Curly SD here, hi!) FNs can do wild bold curls; I think SNs are allowed a more delicate version if memory serves. I personally don't understand the association of certain curl patterns with "untidiness", but that's something else again.

    • @janailic4362
      @janailic4362 Рік тому +2

      @@AngryTheatreMaker I agree with you. I hope our comments will catch Aly's attention. I want to see more hairstyle suggestions for natural hair. Many times women with curly and wavy hair are left out. Even when we are included, pictures of textured hair show 4c afro (which I love!), or blow out waves, as if there are no curls in between those two categories.

    • @AngryTheatreMaker
      @AngryTheatreMaker Рік тому +1

      @@janailic4362 I have 2C/3A hair myself (smattering of possible 3B ringlets in the back), so I can understand wanting to see more range for wavies/curlies. I resort now and then to looking up vintage and historical hairstyles because they're frequently more friendly to curly hair, or so it seems to me. (Sidebar: I've only just started growing out an asymmetrical bob--which grew out from a choppy pixie--so you can imagine my eagerness to find styles that would suit my hair.)

    Aly, would you consider doing a video on proportions and dressing for them with different body types? Watching your videos, I was surprised to learn as a dramatic classic that I was "allowed" to break my vertical line at the waist, or at the mid calf. When dressing oneself, what kind of breaks look best on whom?
    Thank you for all you do, by the way. Your videos have taken me from someone who was a chronic "terrible dresser" to getting compliments regularly in the workplace. You have given me so much confidence in myself and love for my own uniqueness. Your dedication will bring you far, and I think you could do consultations or even dress the 'elite' and powerful for how well you understand clothing and what looks best on whom. Thank you again.

    I'm a FG, and I've had a pixie for 8 years because it's very flattering to my face. my face is very soft. longer, with sharp cheekbones, but big cheeks and round features for everything else. it's really hard to match to my incredibly sharp body.
    I have found that my head cannot have any volume on the sides, but if the top is too shor it doesn't work. i cant pull off anything sharp or smooth around my face. my hair has to be wispy and tousled, but cropped. I haven't found perfect style yet but I will keep trying

    I think I'm dramatic with some softer features in the face to harmonize and I agree with these tips. My wavy pixie looks best with soft piecy edges (no fades no harsh undercut, no totally bare ears) and bangs. I leave it my natural colour, a rich brown to contrast my skin. Then, my hair is still a prominent feature and looks feminine on me without overwhelming my face or clashing with my longer, more angular frame. My only problem at the moment is that I'm pregnant and my hair has gotten so thick and hard to shape the way I used to like it. It just wants to poof out, LOL. Pregnant fashion could be a future video.

    I learned I was a soft dramatic a couple months ago. I had a pixie cut until then 😂 what suit me best with afro hair was shorter on the sides/back and longer on the top with gave it a geometric feel. I think it worked well because it balanced my jawline. However it was too much maintenance and I'm growing it out.😂 I'm in the awkward phase right now
