    Everytime I eat watermelon at dinner, blood glucose goes high significantly but, it goes down also quick. So it's not a concern. It's not about blood glucose spike. Most importantly is that it's up but drop down mean the body is working on it properly. I believe.

    My husband is a diabetic and he eats about 5 cups whenever he eats watermelon...he never gets a sugar spike ever!!!! however white pasta he avoids because it gives him a high sugar spike.

      it can be normal or pre-diabetic, but you need to talk to endocrinologist or your General Practitioner to test properly and also do insulin resistance test, because it is common practice for doctors not to test it.

      @SugarMDs  3 роки тому

      When you eat fruits that comes with sugar however it is healthier sugar due to the fact that most fluids also brings in antioxidants and protects you from cancer. As long as your blood sugars are not remaining very high all the time and is not a risk factor for cancer.

      @@SugarMDs Even temporary spikes are link to inflammation and premature cell death. Most non diabetics can handle glucose fairly well, fructose on the other hand is an AGE product linked to inflammation and mitochondrial damage. Fructose and Glucose are metabolized very distinctly fruits in general, cane sugar, juices etc are the type of food labeled as "healthy" but it might not be. If you count carbs which I wouldn't recommend its impossible to know the content of sugar in a fruit, some apple might be 20, another apple might be 16, and the last one can be 34.. Two things will happen either you go high and bring the foremention inflammation to tissues or you go low. Going high on fruit might be more dangerous as its closely linked to the polyol mechanism which researchers believe its the cause of most vascular complications seen in diabetics. Endothelial matrix detioration, medial arterial Calcification which nearly all diabetics have with over 5 years onset, specially those under standard care with high abnormal HbA1c, nephropathy, neuropathy, the list goes on and on.. A diabetic much like an non diabetic have the same organs and tissues, diabetics should have HbA1c under 5% if the expect to live complication free.
