In this video we take a look at Fred Again's most iconic sound design tricks in Ableton. We look at how he turns spoken word into catchy lead vocals, his drums, use of field recordings, how he creates lead melodies out of samples and much more. I took all of this knowledge and turned it into my own Fred Again inspired track so I can take you through all of these techniques so you can use them in your own music.

Can't see the mentioned code for the sound design tutorial.
Got into Fred again last Tuesday.
When I heard “Kyle (I found you)” I was addicted. Could not stop listening.
ExplooooooOoding
Was so creative. Can’t wait to follow in that direction
This was such a good walkthrough man! Your understanding and explanation of each element & process was an absolute pleasure. Loyal subscriber gained!
Man you’re amazing! Truly a hidden gem!
This is the best channel I have discovered to learn from, thank you
Great video, been really moving towards sample based production, because im able to get a lot more interesting variety of sounds and now all the expensive synths I’ve bought over the years don’t get used as much. But now I’m thinking of maybe jamming with a synth and just playing whatever and then throwing it in a simpler and see about taking it even further. Keep up the great work! Perhaps do a video on Trikk, I think that would be quite interesting to breakdown
Great stuff. Really well structured and digestible. Would love to see Bonobo and Maribou State!
you're amazing dude!
You need to release this as a whole song
Incredible! Thanks❤
❤❤ Good shit bro!
Thank you man, Very nice video ! Just I want to add, I've also been working on and want to say he sometimes uses Only the 3rds for drone , probably for sensetive, on the fence tension ,its really brings his musical character, you should try it
Great great great video!!
This was an amazing video! Also you need to finish this song!
Great video man, thanks! I'd personally love to see a video on ATRIP :)
This is amazing
Brilliant!!!❤
Also I found from one of his videos that Fred uses Waves Tune Real time or pitch correction
Heavy burial influence in his sound. Especially the manipulated vocal samples
Which artist should I cover next??

James Blake
Justice
I would LOVE to see this style of video on Flume, Ivy Lab and Tchami! Great work as always!
SOPHIE, Kelly Lee Owens...
Overmono or Joy Orbison
Thank you, very nice video. What about Arca and Sophie? it would be great..
Please do sophie next...
Edit : consider the synths used in after hours by the weeknd too... Illangelo, mainly used diva to craft many of the iconic synths (I know this from his after hours and alone again breakdown on MWTM, and fun fact he didn't mention a single analogue hardware piece in both compilations, so these analogue sounding tracks are 95% digitally crafted)
RIP. We really need more SOPHIE style stuff and I had hoped more people would have done more stuff inspired by them by now since they passed
Sophie -
Softclipper on kick
Waveshaper on 808
You should do a deep dive like this for smith.
Do a tutorial on Sophie- Faceshopping
please
Ableton is not beating the spreadsheet allegations 💀
I’d love you to do some stuff from The Glitch Mob
Loved this tutorial dude! I was wondering where you got the LFO Midi M4L tool from? I've got ableton suite 11 and it looks like that particular M4L plugin is gone in the update! They've got another LFO in Audio Effects which can do a similar thing. Have you found this happened to you when you updated, is there a third party site I can nab that exact LFO MIDI plugin from?
try the usual lfo from audio effects, in my opinion it completely replaces the midi lfo, probably that's why the midi lfo was removed
Is this template available to purchase!???? 👏🤝

@@kebab5353 I love comments like these! From getting a lot of Pluko comments I've been obsessed with run into my arms but I'll definitely check out the other tracks you listed! :)
@@SynthHackerTVof course! Thanks for actively engaging with the comments. It means a lot to absorb this amazing content for free and to learn how to engineer top quality sounds from the songs that we enjoy. P.S you should look at SOPHIE and jai wolf!!! They are awesome as well
Great - BUT - what about how to go about triggering the videos? All these "How to Fred Again" YT tutorials and the videos are always left out. This is an integral part of FA's performance. Love to see a video on that. Thanks.
timbre is pronounced tamber
This would be awesome if it didn't show a bunch of plugin's that cost hundreds of dollars. Maybe show a way to do it with free or cheap plugins if possible?
Maybe be grateful he's shown you at all.
Nothing new really... Notwist, Junior Boys, Ellen Allien, Apparat and other better artists did these 20 years ago almost.
