Fred Again’s style is simple yet incredibly tasteful. His drones and those transposed out of nowhere bass lines are the salt and pepper spice to that simplicity. He’s my favorite EDM artist right now.
you said it all, really love the drones he creates.. Wish someone (Alex Rome please please please) would make a video on how to make harmonical drones :p
@@vyktorproduction piano + any infinite decay reverb 🤌
Simplicity is key! The most timeless tracks are always the simple ones. They seem to connect with people in a way that's different to complex tracks, where if there is to much going on it becomes a bit much. To me, trance became to bulky and it killed the original sound leading it to become very unpopular, while at the same time techno/house stayed true to its roots and has always maintained a strong following by keeping it simple. Of course this is always opinion based and that's my take on it!
ew his generic music is not great and no song will stand the test of time.
@@kevinmyrick218 cry about it
Fred Again is the master of minimalism.
Bro is back and it’s fire.🔥
Yo, this is actually crazy. Just chilling, watching some yt video and then this dude comes up and plays this little test melody (0:53) and now I have one of the best inspirations for a new track since quite some time. Will definately update here when I'm done. Had other plans for today but guess they gotta wait now.
It sounds like Mary had a little lamb 😂
Haha you seem so excited to show us something cool you figured out, and I love it!
top edm producer on youtube🔥
Love your thoughtful video, Alex. I appreciate your passion and the energy you bring to your videos. Please keep making them!
Great video brother! 🙌 loved how you broke it down and made it all digestible. Simplicity is key 🔑
Alex is back! And he’s back with a banger
He learned from four tet. Nuff said.
Welcome back 🎉
btw he didnt make the intro melody himself, its a splice sample, even the drums are from splice
That's ''TEN''
Such a great breakdown, thank you!
Keep making this content
dude!!!! great video
love this breakdown. i would be pretty interested in a breakdown of 'ten' by Fredagain too if you're down!
Word that song is gold
2:55 I think rather than sine wave, Fred is using Rhodes keys.
Please do trinix and colins live mix of sky full of stars by coldplay!
Damn that’s good
Long Time Broh, this is helpful tho you also consider us fl studio users
Anyone else getting that Passionfruit vibe? This is miles better but, I know Kendrick won but that track was fire also ngl
Logic hurray!!!!!
Is Fred’s surname flintstone?
🔥🔥
what kick was used at 5:42?
sounds like anything you'd find on MrSuicideSheep's channel. Never heard of Fred Again and he sounds like any edm out there, very early 2010s
🔊🎼🥇
This is not Sound Great
Ok but also Go Iggles
alex: the song is really simple but awesome
also alex: so this is really hard for me to recreate
Hahaha
Great video Alex! Your channel is awesome!
I think you're making a mistake in saying that Fred Again keeps it simple. In my opinion, you forget to address what really makes the difference from other house tracks. Namely the drums and the way he mixes organic and synthetic elements very well mixed and which give a spontaneous and at the same time slightly complex side to his rhythm. Not more developing the subjects of Fred Again's drums means missing out on 50% of the analysis of his productions
Would love to see a breakdown of Opus by Eric Prydz.
the way i say 'ohhhh HELL yeah' every time you say 'isn't that cool?' as if you can hear me is what sets your channel apart my bro. THANK YOU for this video and every video. I'm literally JUST starting to learn production after DJing for nearly 3 years now and man you are my hero! THANK YOU ALEX !
This is gold bro! I recently starting edm music production and came across your Edm bootcamp. Will have to sign up soon thanks bro 🙏
if you listen to fred's id 'sweet little mystery' you can really hear the similarities
🤔Adore u is very chill, but tbh it lacks something compared to some of his other tracks. It's almost 90s dance the way the piano drives it, which isn't a bad thing, but it's still a bit meh. Nice recreate though, Alex!
Thanks for dooing the analasys.
Check out this need modulation in the very famous song, it took me almost 2 hours to understand what is happening in Numa Numa to the chords.

Welcome back sir, your videos is very useful
It's a great fucking day when Alex Rome uploads! 🤩🐐
Hope you're well boss! 🙌
i audibly gasped when i saw you finally posted a new video :D
was waiting and waiting and waiting for the best producer instructor on youtube 😎🤗 wb!
Can someone explain 3rd and 5th notes and things like tonic and stuff like that to make chords easier to do on my own? To understand them better? Pls
David Bennett Piano is a UA-cam channel ran by a pianist who explains music theory. He has some videos on chords if you wanna check them out.
It Reminds me to Julien Jabre Swimming places
welcome back G
Your arp synth sounds quite messy because you’re playing (drawing) the dotted 8th manually with echo on.
I’m pretty sure it’s a dotted 8th delay on a staccato (short plucked notes) synth playing single notes with portamento (slide) on.
Can you do a video on the band "The Diogenes Club" ? They've got some really dope stuff that I'd love to see covered in a style study.
I knew I subsribe your channel but haven't seen any video from you. I have to scroll down my subscribtion list bcoz I don't remember your channel name. Glad I found you again.
Great video and great advice. Especially as someone just starting to get into making music I appreciate hearing that a good song can be very simple and doesn't require tons of overlapping automations. The only automation you used in the video was a volume fade! You do have a way of making Serum look way easier than it actually is tho...how do you do that!?
Logic
Hey Alex, could you link to your Spotify? I found one Alex Rome account but not sure it's you. Cheers!
Hey bro, love what you do, you’ve helped me grow a lot. so I followed you step by step in this tutorial like I always do and the Serum arp synth ended up sounding like a conga drum lol. Did you skip a step in the video? Please reply, this would be really helpful ❤
Could you try to make KREAM - So Hi? Or any other song of them? They have really nice rythm in their songs
Eager to jump on your course. Just waiting for my darn network provider to sort out my coverage so I can jump on a call with you!
ThankQ Alex ❤❤😢
I don't think you replied to my other comment @Alex Rome but I tried signing up for your online course and your scheduler is messed up!
It won't let you change the calendar to next month in order to select a date. Just shooting you another heads up hoping you'll see this msg.
Hey, my scheduler is not open a month from now. I have to do that manually. Shoot me an email alex@alexromesound.com and I’ll get ya scheduled.
That was really interesting. I love your excitement
Fred Again literally be lookin like the Charlie Kirk of house.
Welcome back
Good tutorial. Good to see another Logic user :)
Deep diving will always be my favorite.

👍👌🤙
Man I love your passion and attention to detail, you are so good at getting to the core of what makes good music good, I hope one day I can be making good music too
VERY NICEEEEE BROOOOO!
Sweet!!!
It's... good background music. I mean I'm not a big artist because I don't upload music but I can write this on a sunday afternoon.
I think it's boring. But that's the beauty about music, it's completely subjective.
Such a sick vocal? 😂ok buddy
Great vid, informative and easy to follow
