    This is very helpful because I just recently got a baby cornsnake (named Steve) and he did pretty much all of the things you said here (except the musk thing) and I was worried that these things were abnormal. This cleared up most of my concerns about him. Thank you!

    i just got my baby ball python this morning and he is already exploring and coming out of the tank by himself. he pooped a bit after he came in so I took the top off to clean it picked the poop up and went to throw it away when I came back he was climbing out! he slithered over to my hand and sat there. i was shocked at how friendly he was!

    Bought my baby at 3 months old. I’m surprised by how well she’s been doing so far! She was used to eating live but took to eating frozen/thawed instantly. I was very worried that she’d go on hunger strike. She’s definitely been hiding a lot but her personality has been coming out more and more during each passing day (she’s a little over 4 months now). She’s so sassy!

    I have had a baby corn snake for about a week. It is relaxed and handles comfortably. I will try a feeding today but he has been exploring and seems curious when I come to the tank . No musking, not agressive moves or tail shaking. I have a 5ft Ball Python I got from Reptile Rescue that was supposedly a poor feeder. Would eat small rats but really prefers live mice and she just inhales them. She ate 34 in a 12 week run and lets me know she is hungry by sticking her head out of her hide and tracking me around the room. 30 seconds is a long time for a mouse to last when I put it in the tank.

    My new Corn came out of brumation about a month ago. It was refusing to eat for weeks and it made me nervous. Finally, last week I decided to tease it with a little fuzzy mouse and left it outside of the hide and walked away. Two minutes later the mouse was gone. Made me sooo happy. This showed me that this snake is a shy eater for right now. I think it was born sometime around last August or September. We've hardly bonded at all because it went into brumation in November. It doesn't even have a name yet.

    I got my first baby snake Zoey a corn snake. I can say he has a lot of disposition. As soon as we let him out we were able to handle him. He was not scared. He trust us. When i offer him food 4 days after, he ate it right away. No problem at all. Since then we handle him for 20 mins a everyday except of course when he just had a meal.
    1 week after Zoey, i brough home another baby snake. Zass David Jr., an albino burmese python. He is the exact opposite of Zoey. He always hide. He did not ate when i offer him food. He is scared of his food. I talked to the breeder and he told to leave it alone for 1 week. So here I am suffering for 4 days already. Missing Zass so much. So near yet so far. I wish he could be more like Zoey.

    I have a baby corn snake that I've had for 2 months. And she is a baby (10 grams was her last weigh in which was yesterday). Her first shed with us was November 26th and it was PERFECT. Also she had been eating like a champ prior to that. However it's been 6 weeks since she has last shed. I read that baby snakes shed more frequently than sub adults and adults, but does it vary from individual? Her Temp and Humidity is good. Her enclosure is a 20 gallon aquarium with lots of hides, enrichment, substrate, and coverage to where she doesn't feel too exposes but free enough to move around and stretch. She even has a perch that she loves to rest on. I also don't think she's stressed as we only take her out once a week for 10 minutes to handle her. I have a humid hide for her and once I noticed she was in blue for her first shed I put down damp sphagnum moss to assist her in shed. Around the 4th week mark after her first shed I put down fresh new damp sphagnum again and have kept it damp since then but still no shed. I thought maybe the issue was that she was getting bigger so maybe I needed to feed her more frequently but she only weighs 10 grams so I've been feeding her 1 pinky mice every 5 days. I found a chart that says for her weight she should be eating 1 pinky every 4 days. Is that ONE day difference really what could be causing her not to shed? Or is this normal? Any advice?

    I got a 3 month old Corn Snake hatchling. I'm not no expert when I say this... Definitely not by any means. But you can pick them up even if they strike you. For me, if I back away after striking, it means that biting will scare me off & so they'll do it more often. I have never been bit by him ever since I picked him up after that strike to my hand. Though, I nearly did get bit when my cat decided to mess with him while I was cleaning his enclosure. He's fine. Scared, but fine. I did move him to a seperate room after that though. I thought my cat would leave him alone.

    Please NEVER leave a rodent or other LIVE food item with your snake unsupervised (and especially overnight). This also applies to adult snakes. If your snake isn't interested in feeding even a small rodent can cause severe injuries and possible death to your snake. Please do your research from various reputable sources before getting any new reptile/animal.

    I got my BEL a month ago. The first 1-2 weeks he was mostly in his hides but would come out here and there. Now he comes out every single night explores. He always goes to the top and pushes on the screen. He either does it from his branches or will just move up. He takes breaks but seems he does this for a good portion of the night. Iam constantly monitoring the temp and humidity. I was having issues with humidity but it’s fixed now with a fogger connected to a humidistat. He eats every week and is perfectly calm when handled. He has never been aggressive. I keep reading that this is negative behavior so I’m concerned but see no negative behavior. He is 4 mo old. Any input would be appreciated

    Still a great relevant video, had my 8mo Palmetto two weeks now, next week we'll start handling training but she's eaten twice now and sleeps in her tree during the day, I think she feels more comfortable than she did, fast little bugger though, catching her is going to be a pain.

    When I got my baby snake, they said I had to wait 5-7 days to handle this, what is the reason for this? Plus I handled it and it was very nice while it was in my enclosure,did not hiss,get defensive, or even try to bite so could I still handle it?

    • @Nokider
      @Nokider 4 роки тому +2

      You have to give snakes time to adjust when you take them home. Everything for them is completly new, new home, new owner, and it can be quite scary for them and even stressful. They need time to take in their surroundings and their new home in peace.
      So no, you should not handle the snake for the first 1-2 weeks when you take it home.

    Hi, I have a baby cornsnake, about 2 months old. She was eating pinkies just fine and then stopped. She continues to drink and is acting normal otherwise. It has been 17 days. She has no interest. Any advice? Do you ever recommend force feeding? I have seen some videos on that. I can't seem to find info on how long they can go without eating.

      @ethanpegrum 4 роки тому

      TAHOEMAMA7192 don’t worry , I had a corn snake go missing for 2 months without food and he was fine , check for mites around your snakes mouth that could be the cause. And check to see if his shedding by looking to see if his eyes are milky

    okay so im having the opposite issue at the moment. i just got my baby boa and she is very calm but its her second night and she is already out and about. but she keeps exploring her walls as if she is trying to get out. i have her heat thermometer and adquate hide for her, should i be worried she is stressed or is she just being curious? i will add i just opened her enclosure to double check her hide access, and she came up to me like she was asking to come out, not defensive at all; but i just gave her a small pet because id already handled her today. shes a month old about..

      @JossersJungle  3 роки тому +2

      If it's only the second day, I wouldn't worry. It seems like she is just checking out her new sorroundings. She could also be hungry and looking for food :-)
      Just make sure she has good places to hide and all will be fine.
