Got the carbon fibre m235i/m240i diffuser from Racing Bees in Scarborough, Ontario:

You can achieve a similar sound with your stock 30i muffler. I just like symmetry.
This sounds awesome. Wanna do the same on my 220i
Did you do it?
ua-cam.com/video/CNv5SOyg4Xc/v-deo.html
I had a similar set up on my previous 120i, check out the video.
Rev hang is the most frustrating. The stock 230i actually doesn't sound terrible, just too quiet.
Start with a catless downpipe and go from there .
Planning on getting a resonator delete on my 220i so I can make use of the valves. Why did you go from the muffler delete to the resonator ? Not sure whether to go for the muffler or resonator delete.
Lucas Kirkland muffler delete sounded really nice and I sometimes miss it but it just had too much drone on the low end (shifting before 3k rpm). Resonator delete is smoother and a slight drop on the volume
ildrichaseron Nice thanks for your reply. Is there much motorway drone with the resonator delete?
Lucas Kirkland ZERO drone at all on the highway. Even with the muffler delete, there was barely any drone. The muffler delete was just really loud getting off from a stop and shifting before 3k rpm
@@ildrichaseroni have a 340i m performance muffler on my 320i with b48 with opf filter, will i get a check engine light if i remove the resonator on opf models?
Is your car an OPF/GPF version, if so, after a resonator delete, do you need an ECU remap?
North American & early 2018 model. No particulate filters nor tunes.
Hi Nice video! Question, in your last video u had your muffler delete to a Y pipe. Now you have removed the circular resonator and replaced the Y pipe for a 435i muffler? Thanks
Brulpijpfanaat Yes, as much as I miss the volume of the muffler delete, it had unbearable drone daily driving on stop-and-go traffic and shifting before 3k rpm.
I like the symmetrical look with my diffuser and I couldn’t find a used M235i/M240i muffler but I found a stock 435i one and removed the Y-pipe and resonator instead.
I’m planning on deleting the secondary cat next week so stay tuned! If I’m still not satisfied, then I might internally modify and gut the insides of the stock muffler and I’m done.
ildrichaseron thanks for the message :) The reason that I asked is because I have a BMW f20 with also the B48 engine. I am planning on to buy a M performance muffler. I was also thinking about a Y pipe and was wondering about the drone noise.
So at the moment you have a catless downpipe aswell? 2nd cat is still in place and then resonator delete and finally at the end a 435i muffler?
Thanks for the response:) from the Netherlands
Brulpijpfanaat My loud, obnoxious vtec straight pipe friends didn’t mind my drone but coming from a Corksport Mazda3, I couldn’t tolerate it.
As of now, its got stock its primary cat, stock secondary cat, resonator delete and stock 435i muffler. Deleting the secondary cat shouldn’t show a check engine light but deleting the primary will. If I consider getting a tune, then I might consider getting a primary cat delete.
Greetings from Canada! Great to know my videos are going overseas!
ildrichaseron Great to share ideas! With or without resonator delete is it a big difference? What changed only a little bit louder? Thanks
Hi, I have the same car but I don't want to change the muffler, if I keep the original muffler and remove the resonator, does the sound change?
Jorge ignacio It should sound similar. I just like symmetry.
@@ildrichaseron also what rpm range do you get the burbles in?
Mohid A. Between 3000-5500 rpm
Planning on getting the 240i M performance exhaust on this?
NS I’m almost satisfied with this. The muffler delete was too loud. Planning on deleting the second resonator and it should be the perfect volume for me. Cheaper than a Dinan Midpipe or an M Performance muffler.
I want to ask someone I have a f34 330i non msport how can’t I change the diffuser to dual cause the m sport ones can be changed
With M sport, the diffuser is removable with just 6 bolts. Without M sport, the rear bumper is just one whole piece. You'll need a whole new msport bumper with 340i diffuser or if you're comfortable, cut holes on your existing bumper.
I put a 340 muffler on my 230i.. any idea why my valve won't open in sport?
Is your harness plugged in properly? Did you transfer the module from your 230i or did you use the module from the 340i muffler?
Which res did you takeout
Kilo the long circular one at the back closer to the muffler. Planning on removing the short oval one up front.
Bro, did you adjust / reposition the tip since it came from 435i. im asking because im putting oem M235i muffler to 330i B48 F30 with Oem dual exit diffuser. thank you
For F22 to F30, you’re gonna have to cut the current hangers off and weld new ones in a further position. Also may have to get an adapter for the inlet size
Did manage to fit it ? Im looking to buy an m235i muffler too and I want to know if it fits . are they not all the same size and fit ?
I have a 120i im hoping for the same sound by doing the same mods
Hey, did it make the same sound? I Also have the 120i and want to make a resenator delete. Did it sound as good?
@khaled2k651 yes it did. Sounded very similar. I have posted a couple of vids on my channel. It wasnt too loud nor too quite. Just perfect.
@@khaled2k651i used a stick m140i backbox.
@@zakiikaz1753 it sounds amazing bro. Did the 140i backbox make a diffrent in sound?
@khaled2k651 yes, it has a larger bore, so if the welding is done properly, the sound is deepened. Rather than sounding high pitched.
Did you notice any change in performance?
Not really, no. Just a noticeable increase in sound but not too much. Its like turning your speaker volume from 40% to 55%. Planning to do a secondary cat delete.
Did this add more burbles than a muffler delete or stock?
Mohid A. Stock. Same amount of burbles just not as loud as a muffler delete.
Is it worth it very interested in taking my res out
Ali Kader The muffler delete was too loud and the resonator delete is throaty but it doesn’t feel loud enough in my opinion. But I suggest starting with this first cause its good enough to some people. I’m planning to delete the secondary cat. Should still be cheaper than a Dinan Midpipe.
ildrichaseron I have a 330i and put a 340i M performance exhaust. The car is decent loud but I want it to be a bit louder. If you remove the second cat won’t the dealer find out
Ali Kader I’d suggest deleting the resonator first then. Its good enough for some people. Deleting the resonator and/or secondary cats will void your warranty for the exhaust but your suspension, powertrain and the rest of your electronics should still be covered.
Sounds bad
