You are missing the center roller cradle that supports the awning. Did one come with your awning. I just installed unit exactly like your and I have no issues. I have a center support.
I have recently assembled and installed 12’x10’ and 13’x10’ Aleko motorized retractable awnings, both of which came standard with center support brackets with 5 nylon rollers, and I had no problems with either of them sagging in the middle.
Thanks for confirming that Aleko is now including the Center Support Cradle on both the 12' and 13' wide awning kits. I'll have to update my video description to reflect this change.
Good diagnosis. I'm still shopping around and had seen many people having issues with Aleko. Of course some of those could be user error, but in your case I think you've pinpointed a clear design flaw
Paul I was wondering if you could answer a kite related question for me? Sorry to message you here on UA-cam, I wasn’t sure how else to contact you. Basically my awesome Stryke fighter has an issue with the vinyl tubing, that goes through the rocker arm. The tubing has disintegrated and I’m wondering how to replace it and what to replace it with. Best regards. Dean in New Zealand.
The one I received had a support roller to alleviate this problem. With yours I would suggest putting the rod pieces together as with the instructions but use construction adhesive inside the tubes to prevent them from sagging.
Simple fix! What you need is a CRADLE in the center of the tubing - right on the seam where the fabric overlaps. The cradle serves as center support on awnings (typically 20 feet and over) where the roller tube starts to bow because of weight, and tension caused by the arms. Also, reset your inner limit so you have an inch between the outside of the roller tube and the inside part of the front bar (when looking straight up). This will keep your fabric rolled in further and keep it away from the weather, pollen and etc.
David Lundberg This is the best I can do. Please see page 11 and 12 on the manual. Bellow is the link.. www.alekoproducts.com/v/vspfiles/templates/Triad/manuals/awning/DIY%20AWNING%20INSTRUCTION_US.pdf
I have a problem with my 16 Foor awning with the center roller support installed. When the awning is retracted the aluminum tube climbs out of the support then the awning will not open properly
I just installed a 20x10, there is a u shaped bracket with plastic rollers to mount in the center to solve this , I'm sure you can order them individually from Aleko.
I've been searching for the U shaped bracket on the web site, but I can't find it. What is the exact name of this on the Aleko home page? I've been suffered from same problem of this video clip.
I just had it installed, I was missing same exact piece as well. I called my seller Wayfare to get this part. You wont be able to find this part online I don’t know why, I would suggest you to Call Aleko or seller and ask for center support assembly. I Hope this helps.
Hello thanks for the video I have a question I am about to install my 13x10 how high was your installed and when extend what was the height at the end of the awning. Thanks
Very hard to work with the Aleko people to get issue resolved. My awning tore in about three months and I have been in touch with Aleko via email trying to resolve with no success. Not a good situation.
There is a serious design flaw in the 13x10 awning which I purchased in may 2018. There are two rollers each about 6 feet long. which are held together with a roller connector (about a foot long) and 8 screws. This connection is weak and causes the rollers to sag. As the rollers sag, the awning rubs against the brackets causing them to tear. I bought mine in May and by August, it was already tearing. That's less than three months. After several emails and requests by Aleko for pictures, they have agreed to send me a "support" for this roller connector which hopefully will cure the sagging problem. They are also sending a new awning. This awning should not be allowed to be sold on the US market with this serious design flaw. Manufacturer needs to correct this before this product should be allowed on the market.
Yes, the problem was ultimately resolved. Aleko sent me a Center Support that I retrofitted in place. Note that If you opt for a wider 16 ft or 20 ft awning, this part comes standard. But hopefully, future 13 ft awning kits will also include this part since a necessity for proper operation. Another tip is to definitely get the optional electric motor. The hand crank has a 8:1 gear reduction that requires about 250 revolutions to fully extend. That gets tedious so the motor is well worth it!
This is definitely a problem and Aleko is not much help. I purchased my 13x10 awning in May and due to the rubbing, the awning already has torn. That's four months.
I have the same problem so i call aleko but not answer about it so i make a c channel roller and i resolve the problem if you want i can show you how to fix or i can make one for you and let me know
Hi, could you please explain how to make such c-channel roller? I ordered a 13ft awning, and I'm afraid I'll have the same problem. Aleko customer service is not helpful, they said they won't send me the central support part.
Dennis, at the link below is the manual for the 3-Arm Awnings (16 ft & 20 ft Models). In the exploded parts diagram on page 5, note the Center Support (Item U). This is what you need to remedy the roller sagging problem. Contact Aleko, reference this video and request they send that part free of charge. NOTE: Installation will require removing the awning from the wall since it installs from the back side of Torsion Bar. Good luck! www.alekoproducts.com/v/vspfiles/aleko-docs/awnings/ALEKO-Awning-Manual-3-Arms-VICTORIA-Series-2018.pdf
Yes, after presenting my video to Aleko Tech Support, they sent me a Center Support Cradle like in Larry's video. This part comes standard on the 16 ft and 20 ft wide models. But obviously, it needs to be included with the 13 ft awning kits as well. And since the Center Support is designed to be mounted before final wall mounting, I had to uninstall my awning to retrofit this one part. Definitely a major aggravation that Aleko needs to rectify on future awning kits. Thankfully, Aleko was very responsive to the problem and a pleasure to deal with.
Thanks for bringing this to our attention I was going to give this company a try but NOT now! I see this is all about poor chinese engineering AND its about shipping cost. Alot cheaper to cut the tubes in half for shipping purposes. If I were you demand a refund Thanks again and good luck
Mike, it's really not a bad awning, especially for the price. And based on other's comments, Aleko is shipping new kits with the Center Support Cradle. That effectively alleviates the issues discussed in my video.
@@hongning2007 That's strange Noel since I thought the Center Support Cradle was now included with all their awning kits. For sure, I'd contact Aleko and request this part be shipped to you.

I just ordered 2 13x10 awnings. Do they now ship with the center roller or is this still an issue
@@mrmerkert Does your 13x10 have the center roller, I purchased a 12 x 10 and it did not include the center roller

I purchased 12x10 Aleko motorized awning Sept 2021. It does not include the center support roller. They sold me the part for $35
The center rollers are also weakly constructed, mine is twisted like a pretzel.
My 10x13 came with a center support that is C-shaped and has multiple idler rollers that addresses this sag issue.

My 13' retractable awning is not taught enough. My installers have spent a whole day on this and it's still baggy. Center roller is installed. Help.
