Use an electrician's fish tape to install the rubber cords, it will take 2 minutes to do each one! The video is very helpful.

a bought an aleko non motorized awning, first of all holes in aluminum tube did not line up, second its almost impossible to slide awning fabric thru the tube because of such a tight fit and the stitching makes it very hard, last one i bought from them years ago came fully assembled and just had to mount will never do this again bad bad aleko

Great video! Do you know how low the forward end of the awning gets as it is fully retracted? I would like to set the height of the cassette so that I account for the downward angle of the forward edge of the awning.... Thanks again.

We mounted our awning at 9 feet above our deck, fully retracted position. When it is fully extended, the end of the awning is 6 ft 8 inches above the deck. There is an adjustment screw to set the angle you need for your installation. I hope that helps

@@lifehacksbylw Thanks for your reply, and installation video. It is a life saver, considering the 8 point font in the instruction manual :-)

How’s the quality? And how does it fare in the rain?
    Any automatic sensors for wind?

The quality is good! Cools house when we use them. Had it out in the rain - it pooled towards the middle after an hour or two and we pushed up to get the water out...understandable, but did well. You can retract it while it is wet, but remember to open it and let it dry as soon as the weather passes, otherwise the material may get stains or mold. We don't use automatic sensors for wind since they come with a remote.

First off amazing tutorial video you guys put together and 2nd I noticed when I was following your video, I got to the part where you said at 2:37 that you had a tough time making the crown fit perfectly. I noticed that on my motor that there is no crown piece on my motor nor is there one with the parts that came with it. I wanted to know if you got your crown from the Aleko company or did you get a custom crown yourself to add on the motor to connect to the roller tube? Thank you for the helpful video.

We got it from the Aleko company. We literally drove down and ordered it all and it came in 2 boxes (motor and awning)

How do you get slack out of fabric of Aleko Awnings

I am sorry no one has stepped forward to answer this question. I don't know myself. Was the fabric slack to begin with or has this happened over time? Just wondering if it came from Aleko that way.

After installation when I plug in the motor, it turns slightly, then nothing. When I try to pair out with the remote, nothing happens. No beep. Nothing. Any ideas?

The initial power sets it, so your first sentence makes sense. Double check the battery on the back of your remote (tiny panel slides down and inside is a 27A battery)

@@lifehacksbylw I checked the battery. I have a receiver that will monitor the frequency of the transmitter (I am a ham), and notice that I get pulses out at 433.93 MHz, so the remote seems to be transmitting.

@@lifehacksbylw It turns out that you have to pair it within 5 seconds!!! I found this out while talking to the support person. That little bit pf information would have saved me hours of frustration, It works fine now.
