    Thank you for showing how to put on the cover, I have now ordered a replacement cover for my awning, previously purchased by a previous owner of my home. Could you please let me know where I can get the end caps from, the make of my awning is Primrose Awnings but informed me they have none. Take care , keep well and safe, Brian

      Hi Brian, you’re very welcome, mine is now on its second year and doing well, using the covers for winter makes a huge difference, but mines faded really badly now, to be honest, so did the first.

    Where do you get the new awning canopies from?

      It was a seller on eBay.

  • @DrAskildsen
    @DrAskildsen 10 місяців тому +1

    I must do this, but I wonder if you can use the paste that hardens after it dryes and mold an end cap on the sides and just use something flat to stample a flat ending. Or where did you order new endcaps, AliExpress or something?

    • @HooverLux
      @HooverLux  10 місяців тому

      You could use that sugru stuff I have, you can get it in any colour to match, but tbh I’ve not replaced mine and it’s been fine.

    Thats weird, only 6 years??? Sumbrella is 10 years warranty and we replace them usually after 18 years in Canada 😅 I wonder if it's because we only have 6 months of Summer 🤔

    • @HooverLux
      @HooverLux  Місяць тому

      It doesn’t help with all the wet and damp tbh

    • @annabrookins5465
      @annabrookins5465 25 днів тому

      Sumbrella gives a 10 year "seam" warranty. They will find a way to back out of the warranty... then offer a discount price for a replacement...with a new useless warranty...dealing with them now. I have 2 years left...

    Hi again, I have lost the end screw section that locks the awning rod, could you please inform me where I can buy a couple from, thanks. Best regards, keep well and safe. Brian

    • @HooverLux
      @HooverLux  2 роки тому

      Ahhh, I get a number of questions about this, if you can see the manufacturer, you could contact them, I’d use a spare screw of the same size, will be way cheaper. I still can’t find end caps for mine as I can’t find who made it and the place I bought it, coopers of Stortford couldn’t help me 😢

    How did you tighten the fabric?

    • @HooverLux

      As long as the arms are fully extended when putting the awning on, when you roll it up it will tighten itself up.

    looked great until you put the scalloped edging which looks likes it from the 1960s. . I getting black or grey and no edging for the ones we have on our new house.

    • @HooverLux
      @HooverLux  10 місяців тому +5

      The original awnings themselves were a gift from my now late parents, my mum loved the scalloped edges as they reminded her of the seaside and the ice cream stalls etc at the beach. I know the more modern look is not to have them, but they make me smile when I see them as they remind me of her

      I did this one with help, but then the following week I did the second one in my own, it was a bit slower, but because I’d done the first one I kinda knew what I was doing, but yes, on the ladder and off, then the little 2 step ladder and back and forth like that.
