Thank you for showing how to put on the cover, I have now ordered a replacement cover for my awning, previously purchased by a previous owner of my home. Could you please let me know where I can get the end caps from, the make of my awning is Primrose Awnings but informed me they have none. Take care , keep well and safe, Brian
Hi Brian, you’re very welcome, mine is now on its second year and doing well, using the covers for winter makes a huge difference, but mines faded really badly now, to be honest, so did the first.
I must do this, but I wonder if you can use the paste that hardens after it dryes and mold an end cap on the sides and just use something flat to stample a flat ending. Or where did you order new endcaps, AliExpress or something?
Hi again, I have lost the end screw section that locks the awning rod, could you please inform me where I can buy a couple from, thanks. Best regards, keep well and safe. Brian
Ahhh, I get a number of questions about this, if you can see the manufacturer, you could contact them, I’d use a spare screw of the same size, will be way cheaper. I still can’t find end caps for mine as I can’t find who made it and the place I bought it, coopers of Stortford couldn’t help me 😢
Yeah definitely, I did this video just in case it helps someone, won’t get huge views etc, but if will help someone if they think it’s a daunting job and show it’s pretty easy to do, then I’m happy.
hi i took the bottom of easy but the top i think i will have to take it down as were it fits there is no were i can slide the top off as the brackets at each way are in the way
I got the bottom of ok but the top was behind the bracket so i undid the nut on the side and just pulled it out a bit so i could slide it out hope i can put the new cover back in ok
Thats weird, only 6 years??? Sumbrella is 10 years warranty and we replace them usually after 18 years in Canada 😅 I wonder if it's because we only have 6 months of Summer 🤔
Sumbrella gives a 10 year "seam" warranty. They will find a way to back out of the warranty... then offer a discount price for a replacement...with a new useless warranty...dealing with them now. I have 2 years left...
looked great until you put the scalloped edging which looks likes it from the 1960s. . I getting black or grey and no edging for the ones we have on our new house.
The original awnings themselves were a gift from my now late parents, my mum loved the scalloped edges as they reminded her of the seaside and the ice cream stalls etc at the beach. I know the more modern look is not to have them, but they make me smile when I see them as they remind me of her
I did this one with help, but then the following week I did the second one in my own, it was a bit slower, but because I’d done the first one I kinda knew what I was doing, but yes, on the ladder and off, then the little 2 step ladder and back and forth like that.
I just had a look, first it said you had 7 comments, of which I could see none. I then added an emoji as a comment and now it says you only have one comment, but I could see it? Very strange. I’d be happy to help replace them for you my friend.
Best video on here on replacing awning cover ,will be making my job easier when i do mine this week thanks .

You’re absolutely welcome, I will be replacing these this summer after 4 years.
Great job😊
Thank you! 😊
Where do you get the new awning canopies from?
It was a seller on eBay.

Did you ever get the endocarps
I didn’t no unfortunately, but thankfully I’ve had no issues with the covers sliding out.
Great video, helped me out nicely!👍
Glad it helped! 🙏🏻
thank you for this video, have been putting off changing mine til i saw this :)
No problem, first time I’d ever done it, so if I can, anyone can 🤣🤣🤣
Did you manage to get new end caps? Mine have snapped also, being brittle. About to change my awning too. 😊
No, couldn’t find them anywhere that were the same.
@@HooverLux that's a shame .thanks for replying 👍

You could use that sugru stuff I have, you can get it in any colour to match, but tbh I’ve not replaced mine and it’s been fine.
How did you tighten the fabric?
As long as the arms are fully extended when putting the awning on, when you roll it up it will tighten itself up.

Hello thank you the video is very helpful. Where did yu buy the replacement fabric from pls ? TIA
Hi, thank you, I bought it on eBay, there are many sellers in there.
Does it fit the same with an electric canopy replacement cover?
Yes, it will, just the right size cover will fit, they are mostly all standard.
Where can I buy a new one - I need to replace my asap
I got mine from eBay, I found lots of sellers on there.
Great job Dorian, We just ordered a canopy thing for our front porch. Do you think I should do a video on it when it arrives?
Yeah definitely, I did this video just in case it helps someone, won’t get huge views etc, but if will help someone if they think it’s a daunting job and show it’s pretty easy to do, then I’m happy.
We are replacing our awning tomorrow. Thank you so much for this video. It is great and we will be using this video to help us
were do i get a replacement rod for the frill
I couldn’t find one anywhere to replace it and so used thin rope.

Oh gosh that’s a right shame, taking them off is such an ache, I can say that the plastic rods in them are quite bendy and flexible
😮thank you very much
You’re very welcome ☺️
My awning is rusty, I’m not sure if it affects the structure, how can I know?
Depends how far the rust has gone.
Use wide mouth channel lock angled pliers to squeeze the pin in instead if hitting with hammer
Good thinking Batman, I will give it a go 🤗

It doesn’t help with all the wet and damp tbh

Ooh I say - you’re one of the “sophisticated” type then?
The scalloped edge gives a bit more shade …when working on something on the garden table
Great job u hove done relly good mate hove a good day mate form Greg Bouchard hove
Thanks Greg 🤗
Could you get on and off the ladder and make it a one man job if push came to shove and there is no Secound person

Quick questions. 1. Do you know what's up with the comments, I can't see mine on my new video. 2. Can you come replace mine? Lol.
