I think it wouldn't be too hyperbolic to say; I believe we are in the golden age of flight simulation.
Hahaha. I dont think any AI has yet to come close to Falcon4, lol. On 580K, lolol. We simply have far superior tools for developers to work with today. The Devs dont seem to take advantage of very much of it today is the real problem.

Edit: I would say what we're going through right now is a total _renaissance._ I just hope it _lasts!_ ;-)

I think we are just playing catchup on everything we missed out on from years of stagnation in the community.
BATC is the ATC we should have had with any flight sim to begin with. I do believe it’s a question of time before Microsoft makes them a Working Title style offer.
I’m so excited for what they’re doing - it’s super super cool and honestly the holy grail for someone who can’t spend the 10 hours/week to join VATSIM - and it broadens the ATC coverage to every airport. Super cool.
I love that we have two solid and evolving ATC options. I've only used BeyondATC, but plan to try Say intentions at some point
Just started with Say Intentions and it’s not hyperbole to say it’s a step change in flight simulation. I am a low time sport pilot and haven’t flown for years, trying to get back at it. Today I followed the simple setup video and flew out of the airport I learned at, Centennial in Denver, down to Pueblo with VFR flight following. It was amazing. One hiccup with taxi instructions but there is a discord forum for submitting bug fixes. Speaking of Discord, I don’t know how Brian manages to squeeze in time for development because he was there, answering my noob questions within seconds, as if he’s on Discord 24/7. Fantastic, game-changing (yes I said it) product. Thanks Brian.
Agreed. Support is top tier.
I'd like to add that vfr is coming to BATC. This will remove the restrictedness to some extent.

Great to meet you at FS Expo Mark! Both programs have their utility and I use both. Tremendous immersion especially on VATSIM flights with no coverage.

I am loving BeyondATC's taxi map. Makes it sooooooooooo much easier to not get lost now when trying to find the gate. Hehehe...

I’m using both currently. Hard to separate. Looking forward to seeing the traffic injection.
I had a look at both but went for say intention because the VR panel was available for them first and I think they have the potential to handle non scripted scenarios better. I tried things like engine problems and request for rerouting and it did work. I’m also interested in their taxi tuner and have done Quebec, my home airport and 4-5 others in Canada and it work very well with realistic taxi. The community is very active to tune airport and make them available for alls.
I’m so anticipating this major update! I wonder if the landing gear will still vanish like it does in FSLTL when you’re just a short distance away lol!
it's not their fault, it's the crappy flight simulator graphics engine.
BATC VR panel is gold news Mark. Traffic is going to eat up a lot of characters
This is great, both of these products are fantastic but I have used si more as I mainly fly vr VFR. Hopefully batc will do this soon! I think si is absolutely amazing and worth the price at 19.99/month
I wonder how will the BATC handle its map considering the different airport addons available for one specific airport…

Great commentary Mark. Always enjoy your breakdown of applications. I do have BATC at the moment, tried SayIntentions about 3 months ago, liked that was well, but was not crazy about the price. The price is getting better. I flew a BATC flight yesterday, and it was the most perfect to date. Actually told me to take the 06-RNAV approach into KFOK. It was spot on. I did have issues with BATC always vectoring me into the airport bypassing the actual approach I had selected. I think that is still an issue at many airports, but I can give the slack on all that. It is in Early Release, and I do enjoy doing these flights and reporting the information to them so they can make adjustments. In general it's great just to talk with someone and have them talk back. I will revist SI in the near future. Brian has done an excellent job there. Options are the best in any arena. They both indeed have a great place in this sim.

I couldn’t decide, so I bought both. BATC is more stable for me, but speech recognition needs some more work. I don’t know why, but a simple IFR flight yesterday from KMHT to KIAD resulted in SI just going to sleep like four times. I don’t know what’s wrong, but I’ll give it some more stick-time tomorrow.
Make sure you are on the latest version (2.6.0.5) with SI. Some fixes were implemented on that the last few days.
I think the progress made by both companies has been extraordinary. If you have the funds then the scope of SI is broader but both have produced a significant improvement to flight simming.

BeyondATC: VR panel is great but VFR is important for the free flight... I hate large aircraft and having to do a flight plan... GA flight is basically forgot about... ATC flight without a Flight plan please!

I have both products for 2 month's now....got stuck with SI because i purchased a yearly subscribtion after a first (and only) free testflight in wich it seem to work correctly .
Every week i fly a test flight in both programs....just to see if they improve.
Both programs are not able to perform a complete IFR flight of 30 minutes in the right way. After this weekly test failure i come back next week and try again (after they updated the program.
Now, (to prevent for haters) as a former RL pilot I know what to say and what to do, so that is not the point. The fact is that it is simply just not usable at the moment.
If you want realistic ATC that does not leave you, vector you to HDG 270 and 5 seconds later to HFG 070 while the final approach fix is at HDG 360, Clear you for FL 320 and 5 seconds later clear you to FL220 (while in the climb) and 10 seconds later clear you for the approach (that is at 3.000 FT).....while you did not even reach your TOC.
Sorry to be this negative.....but they are presenting the stuff as the "Super excited" next best thing (that nobody in the industry can do)......maybe in half a year or so ....not at the moment.
Don't forget to share your flight logs with the team (and flight ID) so issues can be tracked and fixed.

Beyond ATC look amazing with all that traffic, now want to know how much of a hit on performance all that traffic will cost the user...even though BATC has mentioned snice its their own separate injector, and MSFS is not doing any of the work for ai, performance should be great.
If you watch the top right hand corner of the monitor I am filming you will see the fps. Average was around 70fps.

Also, can BATC switch between VFR and IFR and vice versa while being en route?
If I am understanding you correctly, Beyond ATC does not currently support VFR, I believe they are anticipating late this year for VFR.
Sayintentions does have VFR and for me it works very well.
Both programs are evolving VERY quickly.

I saw this at the Expo too. What I want to know is when it’ll make its way into the released version? I think they were speculating about 2-3 weeks. Any update on that?
Both are available now. Development on both is ongoing well into 2025

Full VFR is further down the road for both ATC programs, but SI already covers the basic quite well. I often use it for short hops.

Used both programs, Say Intentions AI understood everything I said while Beyond ATC had some struggles. Even when repeating back word for word what ATC had said to me, it would tell me I was wrong. Both WIP and great programs, but I am really happy with Say Intentions right now.
I found this video too vague. Need clear reasons why 1 x 30$ = inf x 20$.
There are more videos on my channel (and others) that provide the detail. This isn’t a review or comparison video, just an update.
I don't like any of the programs and I hope many of their features become standard default for MSFS2024 done by Asobo and available for everyone. MS has the big AI so I don't think is impossible. What we actually need is users hearing each other over coms. Yes yes... the abusers will complain then that they are compelled to abuse the others... ban them!
2024 will probably have more lively skies, but as dumb as ever atc. Meanwhile Beyond ATC is just hyper focused on atc. Dont think even default 2024 will even compete.

Beyond ATC wins. Say Intentions is garbage.
Did you test it? I dont think so, else you would never say that. But its your right to dont like it. We can maybe argue about the price, even if its now 19.95 usd/month, but the software give you the feeling to speak with a real atc guy. If you want quality, you have to pay m for that. They will add even traffic injection too. You can trie it for free 24 hours, its really amazing piece of software. On the other side, its good to have something like BATC, for 30 bucks... why i dont like, BATC with standard voices is simply crap. If you want premium voices, it will be way expensive as sayintensions, like 30 USD for 10-15 flights if i am not mistaking. I dont take any side, i just say how it is. Sayintensions is way better in every aspect, but if you are not professional, then you will be satisfied even with the asobo default traffic.
