I’ve returned back to this music video after hearing the news that really devastated me, I’m very sad Alan Lancaster passed away, I’ve always thought he was underrated and overlooked as singer, bassist, musician and songwriter, He was one of my heroes in rock ‘n’ roll boogie, thank you for the music and we will miss you, R.I.P Alan Lancaster

It's because Francis doesn't like anyone getting more attention than him :(
Alan Lancaster was the guts and balls of the band. My fave member, very sad when he left, driven out by Rossi and his massive ego and the very horrible disgusting MARGUERITA TIME.

@@alanstrom2221 No, it was Ace Frehley. Once Gene and Paul kicked him out, Quo was never the same. Same story with Bobby Blotzer, Quo was best when he was drummer.

One of the great rockin' Lancaster songs along with Backwater, Just Take Me and Is There a Better Way. Most of my favourite Quo songs are Lancaster ones. Including the ones he didn't write but did lead vocals on, such as Junior's Wailing, Bye Bye Johnny and of course the great Roadhouse Blues. RIP Alan (Nuff) Lancaster.

I saw them at Leeds town hall in 73/74. So so loud. I remember they had to stop the show as the balcony was moving as everyone was dancing. They put so much effort into a show. I have seen them since numerous time since and was there at the end of the road concert at Milton Keynes bowl in 84. I’m 63 now and they will always have a special place in my heart. Great memories. RIP Rick & Alan.

The real Quo was injured when John left but died when Alan was forced out. In 2013 - 2014 the Phoenix rose from the ashes and I was lucky to see the original line up again, the last time before being 1981. Alan gave the band a harder rock edge and beautiful ballads that complimented the songs of Rossi and Parfitt, thus superb albums from 1970 to 1981. Pity Rossi and Parfitt let drugs and alcohol addle there brains.

A really hot track by Quo, especially live!
I was a big fan until the tracks got less heavier in the early eighties.
By then I switched to AC/DC and Motörhead.
What a waste, they should have sticked to heavy rock instead of the commercial material they played later on.
Alan Lancaster was very important for the basic sound of Quo.

Francis hated playing this live as he found it too hard play, it requires a bit more concentration Rick seems to love it though. Alan had John had to go, far too rocky musically , he couldnt start that nonsense with Rick though although he tried his hardest at the end. PLC ( Parfitt,, Lancaster and Couglan ) would of been interesting.

It is clear you are not a guitarist. Stop hating on Rossi, he wrote the songs that made Quo popular in the first place. I love the frantic for lineup with spud and alan, but they never were the core of Quo, it was Rick and Francis.

Francis hating playing over the edge was something he said in an interview at the time not something I made up, Francis was always honest in what he enjoyed playing and Over the edge wasn't something he enjoyed playing. Let's do our homework in our replies

Whatever made Rossi replace Alan with that waste of space Rhino. Every time I see him he looks so out of place, not suited to quo at all, how he has lasted so long in the band is beyond me. I think it’s high time they called it a day now, it’s becoming a joke. You can’t replace Rick. Without Rick quo’s end is long overdue.

For me, Quo was Francis Rossi, Rick Parfitt, Alan Lancaster, Andy Bown and Pete Kircher - John Coglan was also admired, but he had left by the time I seriously became a Quo Fan.
The subsequent later members coming into the band, were just irrelevant as far as I was concerned
