I think the potato is more of a power source/battery that's running the GLaDOS module itself so I think the metaphor would be more "Machine begins glitching/spitting out random output as it's battery is being consumed so it's being undervolted."

Listening to Don’t Say Goodbye is like eating the sweetest candy. The first time I heard it was in one of Harry101UK’s animations where I didn’t really understand the the song because I hadn’t played Portal yet. Now every time I hear Don’t say Goodbye it makes me feel all warm and happy. It’s so sweet and it’s a shame it didn’t make it into the actual game. :)

I also counted Ellens's Part in "COUNT TO THREE" by The Chalkeaters and cut it out. So I created a Video with TRULY ALL of them. Enjoy 17 Minutes of all the Portal Vibes.

The two credits songs, Cara Mia Addio/Turret Opera was song by the same voice actress, and PotatOS Lament was when the bird was eating the potato in the part of portal two where you're going through the oldest part of the facility. As someone who was introduced to Portal through lego dimensions (as a dumb 8 year old), it's sad to see nobody talk about You Wouldn't Know. The fact they treated the ending of LEGO Dimensions like a portal game was adorable, even if i didn't understand the reference back then. Don't get me wrong, it's nothing compared to the masterpieces of the first games' end songs. But they were kinda madlads for doing this.
I actually didnt know about the wedding one and the Potato lament so I investigated, turns out the lament song is played in the title screen while you are in The Fall chapter,
You also know "Cara Mia addio". Its the Song the turrets perform and glados sings to at the end. "PotatOs Lament" is also a Song in Portal 2, it can be Heard in a specific Titel screen and areas in Game I think. "Count to three" is by the chalkeaters but the voice Actress of Glados reprised her role for the Song ( you can find it in the description) so I counted it. "Dont say goodbye" was a Song written by Ellen mcLain (the voice Actress of Glados) as an ending Song used in Portal 2. But as you know it never Ended Up in Game and got replaced by want you gone. "Marriage proposal" is a Variation of still Alive a Fan got Ellen to sing so He could surprise His Boyfriend with an extra Special proposal. According to Ellen, after "still Alive" Glados went on to sing "marriage proposal" we Just didnt get to See it. My headcanon is now that she Just started saying random Things about marriage because all her systems we're failing and that was all she was capable of. And the Lyrics Just so happened to fit as a cool marriage proposal in our reality. "You wouldnt know" is from the Game "Lego Dimensions" in wich Ellen once again reprised her role as Glados.
Half life has always been a more monumental series, team fortress 2 has always been my favorite game since I first played, but the Portal series has always been the most perfect set of games. Never weighed down by deadlines, and has always been exactly what it needed, wanted, tried to be, and more. If and when Half-Life 3 releases, it’s going to be one of the best games ever created, but we’ll all know gaming peaked in 2012.

Not Sure about that. Others have counted them and its hard to tell with ellen voicing both. I don't think Potatos lament is since there are No turrets in old aperture. Also its called Potatos lament Not turrets lament. Personally ive Always thought that in cara Mia glados sings and the turrets Provide the instrumental

Although considering the name I suppose it would make more sense if it was GLaDOS. As for the other song, I assumed it was the turrets as well considering how they were synced with the vocals. My memory could be a bit off tho, it's been a few months since I last played..
@@aaAAA-- Yeah, the only place where PotatOS Lament plays in game is in the Act 3 main menu screen, but It's assumed that it's just the song (sung by PotatOS) echoing throughout Tartaros 09 as the potato is being pecked on by that bird.

Some are unused or from spinoffs, only 2 are in cannon games I think but their are songs from other stuff and I believe don’t say goodbye was scrapped

Want you gone is absolutely iconic song because of the normal elevator and I can't help but feel things click everytime i hear the song. When i first heard that song i had no idea what portal was, now knowing where the song is originally from and actually enjoying the series brings me a sense of nostalgia.

As someone who was introduced to Portal through lego dimensions (as a dumb 8 year old), it's sad to see nobody talk about You Wouldn't Know. The fact they treated the ending of LEGO Dimensions like a portal game was adorable, even if i didn't understand the reference back then. Don't get me wrong, it's nothing compared to the masterpieces of the first games' end songs. But they were kinda madlads for doing this.

I’ve just finished portal, could someone tell me where these songs came from? I’ve only heard still alive and want you gone :)
You also know "Cara Mia addio". Its the Song the turrets perform and glados sings to at the end. "PotatOs Lament" is also a Song in Portal 2, it can be Heard in a specific Titel screen and areas in Game I think. "Count to three" is by the chalkeaters but the voice Actress of Glados reprised her role for the Song ( you can find it in the description) so I counted it.
"Dont say goodbye" was a Song written by Ellen mcLain (the voice Actress of Glados) as an ending Song used in Portal 2. But as you know it never Ended Up in Game and got replaced by want you gone.
"Marriage proposal" is a Variation of still Alive a Fan got Ellen to sing so He could surprise His Boyfriend with an extra Special proposal. According to Ellen, after "still Alive" Glados went on to sing "marriage proposal" we Just didnt get to See it. My headcanon is now that she Just started saying random Things about marriage because all her systems we're failing and that was all she was capable of. And the Lyrics Just so happened to fit as a cool marriage proposal in our reality.
"You wouldnt know" is from the Game "Lego Dimensions" in wich Ellen once again reprised her role as Glados.

Half life has always been a more monumental series, team fortress 2 has always been my favorite game since I first played, but the Portal series has always been the most perfect set of games. Never weighed down by deadlines, and has always been exactly what it needed, wanted, tried to be, and more. If and when Half-Life 3 releases, it’s going to be one of the best games ever created, but we’ll all know gaming peaked in 2012.

Not Sure about that. Others have counted them and its hard to tell with ellen voicing both. I don't think Potatos lament is since there are No turrets in old aperture. Also its called Potatos lament Not turrets lament. Personally ive Always thought that in cara Mia glados sings and the turrets Provide the instrumental
@@F5ss I'd have to play it again to confirm but the title screen where it plays potato's lament has a turret on a pile of rubbish or something doesn't it? Although considering the name I suppose it would make more sense if it was GLaDOS. As for the other song, I assumed it was the turrets as well considering how they were synced with the vocals. My memory could be a bit off tho, it's been a few months since I last played..
@@aaAAA-- Yeah, the only place where PotatOS Lament plays in game is in the Act 3 main menu screen, but It's assumed that it's just the song (sung by PotatOS) echoing throughout Tartaros 09 as the potato is being pecked on by that bird.
@@F5ss I'm pretty sure you can see that fat turret singing the lyrics to Cara Mia Addio during that ending cutscene (or at least, the fat turret's moves are synced to the vocals).
