Also, Cave Johnson would have been extremely old. Thats all. This is just facts that I've found around the web, some may be true, some may not. Hope this sullies your need for information.
I have done some research im not sure if it is accurate. In May 2000 GladOS was activated with chariolines mind. and in the story glados said we only have 60 more years before you die the average age would be 100 so chell would be 40. Therefore chell could have been born in the 1970`s witch is when the part in the game when you go underground was made
Pinkamena Pie Yes but chell looks no older in the first portal then what she looks like in the second portal. It makes me think that those relaxation vaults also stop ageing. The announcer also says in the beginning how long you were in the vault for. At first it will say 50 days. But since the reserve power ran out it has stopped awakening people up unless a core would came and do it manuellly. It also says that she was in there for 99999999 years so that would be 9999999.9 decades
Beautiful dear, my beautiful darling! My little girl Oh, Chell! That she respects! That she respects! Oh, my dear, goodbye! My dear child… Why don't you go away? Yes, away from Science! My dear, dear baby… Ah, my beloved! Ah, my dear! Ah, my dear! Ah, my little girl! Oh dear, my dear…
This song, at least to me, is the funeral song for old valve and my childhood. Valve used to make such wonderful and memorable titles many of which are still being active played today. Since this game valve has only made two games, that dota card game that no one wanted and alyx. Alyx had a glimmer of what old valve used to be but I've had my hopes crushed many times before. If valve made a true return to game development it would show this new generation of gamers what a passionate group of talented developers and story writers can make. Until then, my expectations will be kept low, but I'll hold onto a small bit of hope.
+MarlonBitoy I know there is no singing but could you perhaps try the Song from Mass Effect 3 when Shepard gets to the last stage and has to decide which end he/she will choose... the one with the " God child " ;)
The reason for opera is because there if a roman myth ( so that's why it's Latin) that when you die you will be lifted to the skies ( Elevator) to a field ( wheat field) while hearing angelic music ( opera) and greeted by your dearest friend ( companion cube) so the cube DID die, the turrets kill you ( unless you went into a coma and dreampt about it) I'm sorry but it doesn't look like portal 3 ( it was a good way to end thou) the should come out with the rat hole, ratman in aperture science.
I like your ideal on this song. I can't argue with a word you say but there is yet another interpretation of the song. Just another myth. In game, you experience a lot of subliminal things and Easter eggs you need to look for. For example. Why is Apature all messed up to begin with? Well it's actually caused by a potato clock or w/e it was Chell for the bring your daughter to work day. She is a child of science. Carline and Mr. Johnson had some sort of romantic relationship. (or so it's implied) So, over all, the myth is Carline (GladOs) is saying goodbye to her daughter Chell and did not kill her for that reason. She realized who Chell really is and telling her that she loves her and she is finally free.
possibly! but we all know valve cant count to three. and if anything it won't just stop there. (SPOILER ALERT!!!) there Is an addon dlc, w/e you want to call it where they find a WHOEL BUNCH OF humans locked and stored away so she can test forever... and ever... and ever... anyway my point is it can go a number of ways but the sad reality is they might not =/

Eric Hoang well..... caroline is glados.... so yes its her singing when she finds out that she is chell's mom watch the vid "portal conspiracy: who or what is chell?"
Ellen voice all the turrets as well as GLaDOS. I personally think that this is the turrets saying a final goodbye to you. If you think about it, they are usually forced to attack Chell and won't If they don't have to. So maybe they are going to miss the only human they have seen in years.
I found this just today. And it so perfectly sums up what parenting feels like. I love my kids but in the same time, they drive me insane. Sometimes I feel like there must be something wrong with me for getting to a point that I question if getting them was a good idea, just to be super grateful and loving an hour later. Somehow the story of Protal 2 and this song perfectly covers this whole struggle every parent goes through.
the pure feeling i get from this song ugh its so amazing it makes me remeber the first time i beat portal 2 and that played and i felt so acheived and just pure joy and just yaaaas
The english lyrics: Dear beautiful, my beautiful darling! My baby, or Chell! What I respect ... What I respect. O my dear, goodbye! My dear child, why don't you walk away? Yes, far from Science, Dear, my dear child? Ah, my beautiful one! Ah, my dear! Ah, my ...
So I'll be honest, I've never played portal, and I realize how much of a sin that it, but, I already know the story and even from afar I can tell when a game is crafted with such detail and care that I don't see as often as I would love to, and this song, this right here is why they cared so much. They wrote a song in another language and built an entire presentation for it all to give a bit of a satisfactory and interesting ending.
Fhjd Ghcfhc Play it!! It's priceless.. What you said is completely true, the songs at the end are like a trophy in so many ways.. it's been masterfully designed to make you feel that you earned it.. that those works of art are your price for solving the puzzles..
the opera is in italian the line "Que las tima" doesn't have sense in there although if interpreted as "che lastima" might still have a bit of sense as in some parts of italy "che lastima" means "what a waste" also "perchè non passi lontana da scienza" is kinda cheesy it sounds more like "perchè andasti lontana da scienza" wich translate to "why did you walked away from science"
I think Chell grew up with turrets according to the turret song in English it's talking about a child CHELL its talking to Chell meaning Chell might have been raised by turrets that were being transported but fell out of the transporter beside Chell they could have been brought back aswell as chell taken to apeture sience labs they landed upright though as we know turrets disable when sideways
I reckon the way Chell became a test subject, was when it was bring your daughter to work day, Rattman was here adoptive father, and worked for Aperture. On that day, Caroline was turned into Glados, but something went wrong causing her memories to go, and she turned evil, and kidnapped Chell for testing when she had grown up, and tried using Rattman, but he managed to escape, or died trying to or trying to save Chell.

3) Chell's age in comparison to Caroline's age are way out of sync.
Therefore chell could have been born in the 1970`s witch is when the part in the game when you go underground was made
Chell could have been in the Aperture Science Extended Relaxation Center for decades.
That's my entire point.
Pinkamena Pie Oh i see now
You know that feeling when you listen to such a great song that you feel shivers through your spine as it reaches a very anticipated part?
Beautiful dear, my beautiful darling!
My little girl
Oh, Chell!
That she respects!
That she respects!
Oh, my dear, goodbye!
My dear child…
Why don't you go away?
Yes, away from Science!
My dear, dear baby…
Ah, my beloved!
Ah, my dear!
Ah, my dear!
Ah, my little girl!
Oh dear, my dear…
Clay4Trey when I translated it it made me cry
If only there could have been an indication of what it said in the video
This is all the confirmation I need. GLaDOS is Chell's mother.
@@deadeye4047 Yeah and the stubbornness comes from Cave Johnson
@@sn31t33 it makes sense. But why is she mute?
I'm italian and earing this kind of song after playing portal 2 makes me actually cry a bit, after all GLaDOS has always been a sweetheart.
I've played Portal 2 so much time ago... and this music still makes me cry like it did the first time. It's not a cry of sadness it's of happiness.
OMG guys almost 600,000 views! THANK YOU ALL! I'm inspired now to make more videos. Any suggestions?
+MarlonBitoy I know there is no singing but could you perhaps try the Song from Mass Effect 3 when Shepard gets to the last stage and has to decide which end he/she will choose... the one with the " God child " ;)
+MarlonBitoy
good work ;)
+MarlonBitoy you did a great job, you deserve it...
Drinking Bleach Prank GONE WRONG GONE SEXUAL
+MarlonBitoy do what ever you want to do
The reason for opera is because there if a roman myth ( so that's why it's Latin) that when you die you will be lifted to the skies ( Elevator) to a field ( wheat field) while hearing angelic music ( opera) and greeted by your dearest friend ( companion cube) so the cube DID die, the turrets kill you ( unless you went into a coma and dreampt about it) I'm sorry but it doesn't look like portal 3 ( it was a good way to end thou) the should come out with the rat hole, ratman in aperture science.
It's in Italian, not Latin, other than that, good fun translation
She realized who Chell really is and telling her that she loves her and she is finally free.
good thinking but it might carry on with atlas and p body in portal 3?
possibly! but we all know valve cant count to three. and if anything it won't just stop there. (SPOILER ALERT!!!) there Is an addon dlc, w/e you want to call it where they find a WHOEL BUNCH OF humans locked and stored away so she can test forever... and ever... and ever... anyway my point is it can go a number of ways but the sad reality is they might not =/
damn
I sang this in a musical competition in my school and got 1st place in classical. THANK YOU FOR MAKING THIS VIDEO!!!
phat turret my beloved❤️
This is a good song to have in the background when you're taking a shower

The emperor will be pleased with this display of beauty
But why the emperor?
the emperor believes in compassion and such tenderness i dont doubt his shine penatrates deep into the bowels of the forever lost world of the mechanicum
the necrons even cried in there tombs when they herd this song verberate through terra
The song that singlehandedly put the Necrons back to sleep
If they don't play this at my funerals, i ain't dying
So... my dog, who barks a lot, stayed silent as this played. Now knowing what it says, really brings a new light on the beauty of this song. Thank you for translating.
I'm Italian and I knew the whole song becouse the music is in italian
but "Que Las Tima" is spanish, not italian.....but the rest of the music is in italian
Edit(29th July 2020) ok when did this comment reached 250 likes? And sorry for mispelling and misunderstanding but i was like 10 o something when i writed this comment.
Should be "che lastima", right?
Michele Tronco que don't say que "las tima" like that. It should be "lastima" all together
It should be "che la stima" 😉
It's latin....
mrtannzr
It's Italian: Che la stima...
Honestly this feels like the first song you hear before something emotionally invegorating occurs such as.. HL3 which shows a Black Mesa, Apeture science facilities, BLU and RED storyline that features everything being tied into one single story, including the Stanley parable.
Everybody know GabeN can't count to ...Alyx, err 3. ;)
Tf2 doesn't exist in Half life -Portal universe BTW nor Stanley's parable but yes that would be cool
@@jacobbushhair7140 My comment sucks
@@orbitaloutcast9878 oof
How would the Stanley parable or tf2 factor into any of this
i couldnt sleep at all and i felt like a sick feeling in my gut. but after listening to this, i oddly feel comforted and i feel better now. this might be my new favorite song :-)
this song makes me feel at peace and comfortable
I think this is GlaDOS singing. I can slightly hear that robotic sound in Ellen's voice.
Ellen is GLaDOS voice but shes turrets voice too
Ellen is opera singer
It's certainly not GLaDOS, it sounds like the only piece of Caroline left in GLaDOS.
Brooklyn Steele
But we all have to agree is a really nice piece of singing
This is the best example for songs being even better when u can actually understand what they mean!
stop crying... just STOP it....(sniffle)
boy shut your sensitive ass up
nvm I just cried
It's not over till turret wife sings!
*Slow clap* oh good that's still working
XD
actually its not over until the fat turret sings
But it's called Turret Wife
but its fat
I found this just today. And it so perfectly sums up what parenting feels like. I love my kids but in the same time, they drive me insane. Sometimes I feel like there must be something wrong with me for getting to a point that I question if getting them was a good idea, just to be super grateful and loving an hour later. Somehow the story of Protal 2 and this song perfectly covers this whole struggle every parent goes through.
it's 2020 and my childhood dies with what to replace it?, D E P R S S I O N
Replace it with Portal Stories MEL
Pro tip:Add some spicy despair and existential crysis
I never noticed the pause at 0:16. Does it mean anything?
I don’t think so,
I just like to think they forgot their lines lol
12 years later and this song still cuddles with my heart
Interesting how a turret makes voice sounds from it moving it's sides
IS ANYONE ELSE NOTICING THAT AT 0:02 IT SAYS THE CODE WAS MESSAGE TO CHELL FROM CAROLINE
the pure feeling i get from this song ugh its so amazing it makes me remeber the first time i beat portal 2 and that played and i felt so acheived and just pure joy and just yaaaas

@@hollow_dbd idk
I missed this so much.
I missed Portal and Portal 2 so much.
Even after 8 years this person still gives harts to this day, what a legend.
the opera is in italian the line "Que las tima" doesn't have sense in there
although if interpreted as "che lastima" might still have a bit of sense as in some parts of italy "che lastima" means "what a waste"
also "perchè non passi lontana da scienza" is kinda cheesy it sounds more like "perchè andasti lontana da scienza" wich translate to "why did you walked away from science"
What about estima? As in she is proud?
Efemral estima wich translate to "he estimate" or "estimate"( as an order)
also there is the "C" sound in there
+TheThief Non hanno azzeccato bene la scrittura xD
+TheThief It's "Che la stima"
It means "(she) estimates her"
Jeremy Clarkson oh i didn't think about that thanks!
Me: realizing there never going to be a third game
Shoulder company: “so we back in business”
Noticing this, makes me really notice that. Mike did a really good job for Valve!
Should I sleep?
Ok, one more time
Bruh, that's me, quite literally. Right now.
My Most Liked Portal 2 Music!
My bois, we almost at 900,000. Can't believe it.
MarlonBitoy Did you just posted this comment :O
convolte54 Yeah, I made this back when I was just getting started with video editing. It's really quite a time ago.
+MarlonBitoy Can't believe it went that far... It's been a long time. Gratz, bud.
Anthony D. Benitez Thanks, bruh.
I don't get why you're still checking back at this video after 4 fucking years.
On that day, caroline wasnt put into GLaDOS. That day, GLaDOS was activated.
Not even close.
Go watch the Turret Opera video from portal, you can see rattman in the backround at the part when the fat turret sings.
MrChocolatez its a frankenturret
MrChocolatez It's a franken-turret, which Wheatley made
Well this is interesting! I never knew it was an actual song.
i name the fat turret chonky:)
