@@jamesrule1338 yeah I don’t think Seth was salty about the unblockable token strategy, I think he was salty about the overall “all-my-good-black-cards” gameplan that like 80% of the meta is at the moment
Seeing esper lose to this chaos does put a smile on my face.
Nice to see these dragons actually get some love.
My brother-in-law who works at a card shop was asking me questions about them, and I couldn't remember what each one did.
You haven't learned it's true power yet
It works with legendary tokens made by Jaxis And doubled by Kaya
You can get 8 Ratadrabik token and 18 Jaxis token from just blitzing Jaxis
Blitzing Jaxis with only one Ratadrabik on the board, then targeting the Ratadrabik?

Jaxis would make 1 Ratadrabik token, Kaya makes two instead
These token die because legend rule, making 4 non legendary copies, but Kaya makes 8 instead
Then blitzed Jaxis dies and Ratadrabik makes 9 tokens, but Kaya makes 18 instead
Heck, just Jaxis + Ratadrabik is pretty decent, even without the Kaya doubling (which is sadly no longer in Standard).
You'd end up with two Ratadrabiks (one real, one token) and two Jaxises (both tokens), which is nothing to sneeze at.
@@LadyMapi Kaya Geist Hunter is the one that doubles. She's from crimson vow so is still in standard

This is super sweet. I really enjoyed seeing you play this deck over on the MtGGoldfish Replay channel and I was psyched to see you play the deck again.
That start of match four was real ultimate "it's got spells, it's got land, what more could you want?" mulligan decisions.
Imagine Ratadrabik back when the legend rule killed both copies lol
"Oops, I played another Ao, that gives me two smaller copies of Ao and two death triggers? GG? That sounds about right."
That esper deck is just so gross, you had such a crazy dragon engine going and the esper deck only lost by the tiniest tiniest bit

Teysa Karlov doubles both the token creation and the dragons' death triggers.
Liesa staxes the opponent's GY while recycling your dragons and giving you a 4/5 flying lifelink body.
But yeah, that's pretty much it.
(Then again, Teysa isn't legal in standard. It makes the deck go nuclear in Explorer though)
Don't forget Kaya Doubling all the token
Seth; Around the 18 minute mark you're looting with the Celestus without cards in hand. Useful for filling the graveyard but it sounds like you think the life is tied to the loot. It's not. You gain 1 life and then you can loot if you want to. But maybe you're just filling the yard for the 3 drop dragon mana dork?
I mean, unless there's danger of decking, cards are better off in the graveyard than the library
Rockin' Robin of Urborg seems interesting for zombie and reanimator fans.
I built a mardu Ratadrabik deck, but took it a totally different direction. cool to see this one.
Jaxis would be so sweet here. Pay two to blitz her, discard a card to copy a legendary dragon that immediately dies into a zombie and draws you a card, then Jaxis draws you another card and turns into a zombie at the end of turn. Or cycle a card to copy the zombie lord and it'll immediately turn into a non legendary so you have two of the effects on board and if you blitzed her you'll get two Jaxis zombies at end of turn
To make it more explosive use Kaya

But Seth....so many people told me Meathook was overrated and it would never hold its high price......

I played against this deck as Grixis Vampires and it was a tough match. I only won because the opp swung in and left behind 1 blocker(summoning sick) which I killed with a flashed in Ertai and they were at 3.
Without vanishing verse, the Kamigawa Dragons have gotten MUCH better. As much as I love him, Junji has been the worst. The other two are just a ton of value.
All the dragons are very good vs LotV and pretty much all red or black removal.
I was abusing Junji when Hofri Ghostforge was in Standard
I think that's the biggest thing about a lot of the top standard meta, most of these deck use the graveyard in some way or have death triggers. It's going to make exiling things extremely important, we have already seen a lot of black decks start using soul transfer main board for flexible removal. With all the things in this set that wants exiled it's the number 1 reason to run white. Wandering emperor, leyline Binding, temporary lockdown, rite of oblivion, borrowed time, all of these are removal worth at least splashing white for in most 2 color decks just to improve your match up into Jund and Rakdos which look like will be the top meta decks in standard for awhile that and GW Enchantments which it's still useful against to get rid of kami.
Junji + Body Launderer can reanimate each other
And depending on other color Remo and Olivia can help too
In the last game, would reanimating faith bound judge with junji prevent the enchantment?
Ratadrabik is one of the funniest cards you can use on Arena right now.
Latest BS I tried was turning everything into Artifacts even Sagas, Legends and Planeswalker and then used Urza to make Tezzeret and wanderer creature tokens which were non legendary artifact walker.
When I played with Dragons and Ratadrabik I also included Rith as green split but yeah Dragon legends with Rivaz and Ratadrabik is super sweet.
Love this! If you could find a way to add Jaxis, Troublemaker to this deck you could find a somewhat easier way to copy Ratadrabik and your other legendaries without having to sacrifice them. I saw another UA-camr make a deck with Ratadrabik and Jaxis and I made my own variation of it and it slaps so I was very excited to see a dragons version of this. GG's!!!!
By the time the dust settles in standard I'm certain there's going to be a Mardu deck that's tier 1. Red and black are so strong right now, we have seen the things those colors are doing in jund and rakdos midrange and white got a lot of great support cards. While white and WB don't have enough to fill a tier 1 on their own I think they have a lot of tech that RB wants and I think it is enough to take down the mono colored decks and step toe to toe with Esper and Jund.
Decks like this are exactly why Arena needs a subscription service. I'd love to play it, but I'm not spending $200 on packs to put it together on Arena.
cheaper than paper ... that said magic is not a cheap game ... it never has been, it never will be ...
@@F0r3v3rT0m0rr0w true. While arena is an absolute mess of an economy, the one upside is that cards can't become prohibitively expensive. 200 dollars isn't even enough to get the playset of meathooks in standard.
@@Atmapalazzo yeah i only play commander in paper ... and i think thats the mindset of most people. As you have said $200 doesnt go far in paper ... but ive payed about $90 so far on arena this standard and ive got a deck thats got me to plat ... almost to diamond, wins 60 to 70% of games according to my addon. I have enough mythic to get 4 meatballs ... but i only run 2 ... ect ect so yeah.
When infernal Grasp saves you against a Blue White control deck....
Slip out the back is bad for all removal spells, but sac effects like lili should always be brought in for decks like izzet "protect the threat" since it gets around shore up
I don't know where to suggest deck ideas but. Against the Odds deck: Acererak in Modern with Heartless Summoning, & the new card that lets you replace a black mana with Phyrexian mana similar to how K'rrik does but it's standard legal, whatever that's called... You assemble those 3 and Acererak only costs 2 life to cast. So if you have 2x Soul Warden effects or Aetherflux Reservoir or something then you have infinite dungeoning, storm count, mana, life, etc
4-5 card combos are generally real bad in constructed Magic, but it's a neat idea - I'd just question whether or not the shell would be good, especially since Heartless Summoning actually kills most Soul Wardens by giving them -1/-1. The four cards that make up your combo in mono-black require a total of 10 mana (4 for Defiler of Flesh, 4 for Aetherflux, 2 for Heartless Summoning) and don't do much on their own.
I really like the concept behind this deck, but I think it may be a little too slow in the current metagame.I realize that it's typical for there to be lots of aggro decks making the rounds a few weeks after rotation, but I think the set design for Dominaria United may be encouraging people to lean in a bit!

This deck costs more in paper than a lot of my decks, what's driving the costs? Lili/Hearse can't be doing all of it right? That's like $160ish iirc
Meathook Massacre is around $50 too, plus the deck is playing multiple playsets of the Midnight Hunt slow lands - each about $6-9.
Trying to figure out why Ratadrabik was so delayed in casting in Game 1 of that last match. Wasn't there a lot of missed value?
Then fun REALLY starts when you get more than one Ratadrabik into play.

In match 3 you could have won sooner because Junji and Rivaz both had menace.
With Celestus, you gain 1 life whether or not you loot. The looting is the optional part.

4 mana to sweep a bunch of 1/1s and 1/2s? I don't know that the incidental life-gain and life-loss is "broken."
With how difficult it is for low-to-the-ground aggro to recover from a sweeper that typically also gains 4-8 life and puts them one further life point away each time you remove new threats, it's a pretty savage beating. It can win the game singlehandedly against an aggro deck that's not capable of outgrowing it.

Blue white control is such a do nothing boring deck to watch. Had to skip through that part. Just exile destroy counter draw do nothing ever except spin my wheels. I wish wizards could change blue white to more tokens and spirits again and this counter everything draw go could go away. Utterly boring

At this point I think he's just intentionally mispronouncing every legendary name for the entertainment value: whatever the origin, it's going through the Seth meatgrinder and getting mixed with saffron and olives.
I’ve always thought this because he’s got a pretty wide vocabulary when he’s speaking, but it really convinced me when he called Baba Lysaga “Baba Lasagna” without batting an eye in the spoiler video.
