Yeah, I was thinking that he could've endurance with oracle trigger on stack, and then opponent wouldn't have won because they would've had 3 cards in library instead of 2
@@FrankDTank16 In hindsight, the opponent was playing multiple thassas oracle so they would just play another one next turn.

@mtggoldfish At 31:00, Endurance can try to stop the Doomsday pile, just not rhe way you did it. It doesn’t shuffle the whole deck, just the graveyard being put on bottom, so you can’t use it just to shuffle like you tried to. However, Doomsday wins with Thassa’s Oracle, so sometimes with the Win the game trigger on the stack you can put their graveyard on bottom of their library leaving them with more library than devotion to blue, which can shut down the whole pile and make you win a few turns later when they deck out.

I've only watched the intro so far but if there's one thing that brings a spring to my step, it's extremely niche decks that are probably bad into most of the meta but absolutely hose the top archetype. Pinnacle "who hurt who?" energy combined with maximum meme potential
When ajani's pridemate was like every second deck on arena I used to run a deck that onto had a favourable match up against that
@@twigs9875 Right?? When lifegain was every other deck in Historic I just started playing only Wx decks so I could run a bunch of Torpor Orbs in the sideboard (Hushbringer and Tocatli Honor Guard).
I have a particularly fond memory of my sideboard Hushbringer negating like 9 ETB triggers (you get the sweet denial animation and sound every single time lol), and then having my opponent scoop it up to turn 2 Hushbringer in game 3 after playing 2 basic plains lol. 100% worth it

Kerry I disagree. This is the prime example of against the odds. Nothing like using a sideboard sever the bloodline to kill 80 ajani cats in innastrad standard.

Reserved List doesn't matter on MTGO, so i don't get why you'd think of that first.
Also the Reserved List isn't that big of a Factor to play Legacy, Dual Lands maybe, but you don't need Duals to play competitive Legacy, i constantly see 5-0 Decks on a weekly Basis that use a Modern Lands List, Shock Lands etc. instead of Duals.
Now if you want to play a specific Deck in Legacy that is full of Reserved List Cards, i can only think of one Deck, otherwise, no, the Reserved List doesn't make Legacy exclusive in any way whatsoever
I feel there is a ton of Misinfo online on Legacy and how you have to be über rich to play it. Seen that on Reddit especially, usually by People who never played nor tried playing Legacy
TL;DR: No, you don't need to buy or own Reserved List Cards to play and win in Legacy, whether on MTGO or on Paper

@@Spaced92 Card shops in the early days, the places where you buy product are the places that gained the most from the RL, imagine you're barely making by and then half your singles in stock half in value. This is why the RL happened in the begining.
So, Seth, I found the right threat instead of Shifting Ceratops and this is a real blast-from-the-past: it's Mistcutter Hydra, from OG Theros. It's XG for a hasty pro-blue can't be countered Hydra. No trample but it's also only one green mana and grows with your manabase. I think Carnage Tyrant needs to stay, it's just got too good a stat line, but I think Mistcutter Hydra might be a legit contender here if you want to just prey on Delver decks.
Match 1 game 2 7:13 I know you hate playing Urza's Saga on turn 1, but with Ancient Tomb, it's actually a super strong play in Legacy.

When facing Doomsday, you could have Endurance in response to the ThOracle trigger to fizzle it and then win the game :)

37:18 mindbreak trap is amazing against doomsday. let them make their pile. Then exile their oracle before it resolves. GG.
Doomsday is usually a Force of Will and/or Pact of Negation deck, right? It seems not unlikely for them to have protection against Mindbreak Trap. They won't always have it, sure, but I feel like Mindbreak is kinda just any free counter in that scenario.

That's what I was thinking. Though if they play the Oracle with exactly zero cards in their deck, they still win, right? The Oracle is gone, and their devotion is zero, but the trigger is still on the stack, and if their deck is at zero, they still win. I think.
@@bigbuffguy9589 you're exiling the spell not the ETB ability. The oracle never resolves, ability never goes on the stack. You should be good assuming no interaction.

Against Doomsday, I think you could have used Endurance to make your opponent's library big enough that the Thassa's Oracle wouldn't be able to kill you.

Doomsday is one of the hardest decks in legacy specifically *because* it doesn't have any one pile. It's a matter of knowing the matchup, knowing what kind of hate pieces your opponent might have, and having ways to build around it. A great example is that two Thassa's Oracles in the last matchup - they knew you had Endurance and were playing around you trying to shuffle their graveyard back in there, so if you tried to put their graveyard back into their library (which is the way to properly use Endurance against Doomsday, as the comment section's already said), they could respond with another Thassa.
18:04 Same thing happens with BoshnRoll and ThrabenU legacy content - cool off-meta finisher in a meta shell. Mull away and sideboard out cool cards and keep the good stuff. Love calling it the "Moonfolk Tribal Commander" strat, lol.
In Match 5 it didn't seem to matter too much, but it's worth mentioning that you can Boseiju Dryad Arbor if it ever came down to it. Granted they could get another one, but it's unlikely they play an obsurd number of them

That endurance play against Doomsday was unfortunate, you were close though if you slowed down a bit I think you'd figure it out. Funny games regardless, that burn game you were really bold and that risk taking play was great to watch
30:37 it doesn't suffle it puts the cards on bottom you're supposed to wait for them to cast thassa's oracle and cast endurance in response so that they dont win since ther's more than 2 cards in their deck

Yes! Dino-Stompy! Love this deck! Seth makes some of the most entertaining Legacy content!
This looked like a worse Blood Moon stompy to be honest. Like you noticed in the games, double mana pips is hard in an ancient tomb/city of traitors deck. That's why moon stompy mostly plays single mana pips to make threats easier to cast. They also play more colored sources. I'd probably get rid of the grim monoliths and serum powders for Elvish Spirit Guides and Chome Mox to help with that. Maybe even play some green ramp like Rampant Growth or something.

Against doomsday it would probably be a better idea to endurance with the oracle trigger on the stack, would stop them from wining, and even if they know, if you have it it would at least make them not play it, but all in all that deck looks really fun, might try it
Call me crazy but I see this as being the Legacy version of Modern Tron decks, and Tron doesn't like double-coloured-mana spells if it can get away with it. You might have to run less colourless lands and run more Forest or find some other way of having stable green mana (bad example, but Moss Diamond comes to mind - Talismans are probably better though). I'm sure there's a way to make it work!

I dont know if anyones asked already, but wouldnt Elvish Spirit Guide be brtter over petal since it can be pitched to Endurance and they still works post-trinisphere. You loose access to kaheera...but its a thought

You forgot to bring in Grafdigger's Cage against Nic Fit. Thran Foundry can also potentially mess with Doomsday.

Why not run elvish spirit guide and force of vigor in the sideboard? The storm matchups should already be good with chalice and 3-ball
20:30 i dont think he could cast bolt. Maybe there was a 2-3 CMC he could have cast to hit you for 3, but you had Chalice on 1. Even with Trinisphere, I'm pretty sure bolt's CMC is 1.

Shouldn't you use serum powder as a late-mulligan get out of jail free? First mulligan or two, normal. If neither has the combo, compulsively mulligan until you hit Serum Powder to cheat in a full hand on your 9th mulligan

Hmm, maybe I was casting it at the wrong time. I don't think I've ever played against Doomsday with an Endurance deck. Waiting until after Oracle is on the stack makes a lot of sense.
