Considering this was on the early access event, probably somewhere in the 1/1000s, considering only a limited amount of people had access to the event. But still!
I think playing against someone he knows is likely considering the event. Playing against Tomer sounds very much Against the Odds though!

I don’t think more than 1000 people got invited to the event and everyone was trying to play with the new cards and make content so probably pretty dang likely.

Honestly, I think that Karn would work and potentially even be good in the deck. Even if it's mostly a filter through the deck card. Also, the burn them out ultimate mode could be relevant depending on the match up. The floor of Karn is so low that I get the not wanting it in the deck, but it feels like it should be at least a try it out sort of card.
@@blueredlover1060 didn't Seth do a Karn deck for against the odds a couple weeks ago? Maybe I'm misremembering. I think it's just way too slow in this deck specifically but like, maybe there's a universe where new Karn is good.

I heard a lot of people complaining about Spider being a rare when it was spoiled. Folks were saying it was a terrible card, which I don't agree with. Giving your opponent a powerstone is something I'm still unsure about. Is it mostly irrelevant, or does it make the card unplayable?

I think the thing about Titan of Industry is that it's an ETB trigger not a cast trigger so there's a little bit less protection. I also think destroying your opponent's best thing is often better than a rhino or a shield counter

I wonder how much better Karn Living Legacy would be if he were an Artifact Plainswalker.
Also splashing a bit of green mana to play Bootleggers' Stash, so you can get artifacts even more quickly to make Dragonspark reactor bigger faster, seems nice in this deck.
Great flavor that Cityscape Leveler beats Titan of Industry, both in Power and Toughness, but also destroying its shield counter upon entering and destroying it when attacking.
Okay, I cannot express how much I want an alternate card style that's the Horned Stoneseeker on the thumbnail. I actually need it. ._.
Thran spider didn't feel any better in these games than it looked on paper. But the real omission here is Excavation Explosion. Its like a prismari command, you can remove something and get a powerstone, and with dragonspark reactor it helps you get them into lethal range with burn side.
Seth also omitted Hall of Tagsin.
Yeah I was fully expecting Excavation Explosion to be in the deck from the title, since it's probably the best red powerstone card. It surely beats the spider, right? I think most decks have some way to use powerstone mana, so you don't really want to give it to them so early in the game.
Three mana sorcery speed Lightning Bolt is a tough sell, but it still might be worth it for the powerstone. I didn't think Spider was *that* bad, although there are some games where giving the opponent a Powerstone really hurts.
@@LadyMapi The big reason for no Hall is that it's rare so it makes the deck more expensive on Arena. Can definitely support some colorless lands though, so if adding more rares isn't an issue toss it in (also the new Mishra's creatureland seems solid).

The first match against the Iconoclast tokens made me smile because I really do enjoy running End the Festivities in my decks.

I would love to see a red powerstone deck running around. Red has always been a cheat your way forward kind of color because they can do everything any other color can do just a little worse, and I think that powerstones will be an amazing red deck
That's a *lot* of mythics for a budget deck for arena players.
I've been playing Jund treasure tribal with Dragonspark Reactor as my main deck for a while now so this was very cool to see
I've been working on a deck with Dragonspark in Epxlorer. And this set is making it so much better
I feel like outside of the event Thran spider would be less of a drawback card. Still bit dubious though, I’ll try it still

I love this guy's energy, and presentation style. Always good for budget decks, quirky fun off meta decks, and I've seen him craft a couple really bomb-ass decks too. Like and sub, you won't regret it

I've been toying with the idea of Golgari or Jund prototype with powerstones for adding Wurmlet and Fleshgorger to a list similar to this one. Rootwire and Simian might make the cut in those colors.
so many of these matches looked really good, until the opponent used the powerstones you gave them for something cool. Honestly, this has been one of the best early access decks, just because of how much stuff it enables on both sides.

Brotherhood's End could get some serious work done in this Standard vs Third-Path Iconoclast.
Opponent's lines in the Tez game were awesome.
As fun as this deck is, the fact that the pre play day doesn't allow best of 3 doesn't really tell you much about the way the deck would actually play. Sure, it looks pretty good best of one when everyone is trying things out, but these are the sort of decks that may look a lot worse in best of 3 after the format gels a bit more.
The days before the game revolved around atraxia and etali.
How about Arms Race with the expensive Artifact like Portal to Phyrexia?
Feels like Visions of Phyrexia was a dead card every time. Stuck out as the obvious place to sub something out. Maybe some spot removal like abrade or voltage surge?
Yeah, at best it's a 2-of. You might want that effect if the game goes long, but four mana for one powerstone and maybe a card or two is not good.
Thran spider continues to be the biggest trap cards of all trap cards
Surprised the "deal 3 damage make a powerstone" card didn't make an appearance.
I have like 2 to 3 rare wildcards at any given moment, since I refuse to spend money on arena, so... y'know... just throwing that out there...

Curious how mightstone and the weakstone would fare in the deck by themselves as a way to help filter those power stones into more usable Mana. It doesn't help with the big artifacts plan, but I think a 2 of might be beneficial
I haven't tried it in this deck, but I played it in an Urza deck and it was impressive even when we didn't draw Urza. I think it could be worth adding a couple of copies.

25 minutes in you play the mountain from exile and then never use it... If you had instead let the power stone create you would have gotten a power stone for +2 damage getting you up to ten. That would be good especially if you had swung and they were foolish to not block or something.

I think you mostly have to make content of some kind, but Wizards always posts a thing saying to email them if you want to get it (I think it's Creators@wizards.com).
I think I will pass without playing in this standard environment. Artifact-based blocks are not my thing.
Honestly, I don't know how budget this will be, as the Prototype bots seem good and their price will probably rise in standard

The most expensive card here is Portal to Phyrexia at $15-ish each. The rest is… pretty pitifully cheap. Its also important to note that that its an extremely generic mana base. Its Mountains. In many formats, your lands are half the cost of your deck, if not the majority.
Feels like some of these R/M cards might go up.

How's this a budget deck? It has a lot of rares and mythics, and if you're talking about paper Magic - it doesn't exist.
It has 20 rares/mythics, which is a bit more than I like for Arena budget (I usually try to go with 15 or less), but it is still a lot less than most Standard decks (which are usually 40-50 rares/mythics), it's budget in paper though, although as you said that might not matter much anymore.
