      @@janeg8274 Firstly, there is no prosecution. This isn't criminal. We have the plaintiff (Maya's family) and the Defendant (hospital). It looks good for the plaintiff because they wouldn't about how much to award the family if they were ruling for the hospital.

    If the jurors want to do their job they need evidence, they've been sworn in to be honest and delivering a verdict. So they have been asking questions during the trail witch you don't see much. Without any doubt they want to understand and make the right decisions. And who are we to deny that request. Whatever the outcome will be we must be ( or better both parties ) sure both had a fair chance no matter you agree or not.

      Just a bit scary… Go’s to the Education Level of The USA. Keep ‘Em duMb, mUtch easier to CONTROL that WAY.

      Now the expectation is for the Jurors to either have an eidetic memory or professional dictation skills.

      ​@ksemery the jurors take notes, and can reference their notes anytime. They can also request any evidence.
      The confusion was almost certainly based on the judge's wording when telling the jury everything they needed, is there.. regarding Kirby testimony.
      Even with a read back it wouldn't help because... the info they requested wasn't in evidence.

    The jurors are members of our peers. Maybe not as articulate but still deserve to be respected regardless of their language. I’m sure the defense is angry but we wouldn’t be here if they’d done the right thing to begin with. Give the juror’s what they need.

      Jhh has 53 Lawsuits since 2012😢 its safe to say problems 😢 this is why i said the judge always has a lot to do with how a case turns out. I like and respect the judge only i don't believe that jhh deserves another brake. They need to get it together an make sure this never happens again they paid another family 55 million dollars and they didn't learn.

    I believe the bad grammar of the juror was intentional to show sarcasm and frustration. After all that evidence, they don't have an exhibit with a breakdown of the damages requested.

    The CPS should have been sued to. I know we need them to protect kids but the power they got gos to some of there heads and causes innocent families to suffer . Kids and parents and brothers and sisters. I had to deal with them before and there kidnappers and robbers and lairs who cause mental anguish with a innocent family and families. I never seen nothing like them when that power gos to there head man it’s bad. No one should have to feel like I can not wait till my kid turns 18. I pray this girl get the justice she deserves. Mom dead and family all screwed up. It’s not only the hospital and there bad acting it’s all so the CPS to .

      A peer and educated or not, they’ve served for nine long weeks and still care enough to ask a question. I don’t know about you, but give me a jury that may be undereducated and care about getting it right over an educated jury that just wants it to be over so they can get back to the Country Club, any day of the week!

    Oh I'm sure the court reporter would LOVE to be asked to work overnight to expedite your transcript (and be yelled at about how much it costs) and be back there at 8am the next morning. Attorneys, please think about your court reporters a little more delicately. They're humans too 🤍

    This jury is out of control. This note, as well as trial questions, breaches the boundaries of courtroom protocol. Their questions have included commentary ("a breath of fresh air") and, now, threats.

      @@ladybug947 The breakdown of the numbers was a demonstrative aid- not evidence; both parties would have to agree to send it back to the jury; the defense would NEVER agree. Testimony is evidence - so the attorneys can read back the witness's testimony to the jury, but that's it. The jury had to write down any notes they believed were important. It's not the judge's fault.

      It is very common for jurors to send a note to judge for clarification of certain issues. If clarification weren't allowed, there would likely be many more mistrials.

      It would cause disproportionate impact on certain demographics, which is which is why IQ tests or literary tests are basically banned from being used for voter registration. This would cause more problems.

    Why are the lawyers upset about the tone of the note from the jury? Excuse me, but didn't the lawyers pick the jurors to be on the panel out of a much larger pool? If certain lawyers wanted an allegedly lesser educated group, did they get what they wanted? I do feel the note could've been written in a different manner, but again, they picked the jurors. On the flip side, did the jurors write the note in that manner intentionally to make a point?

      I'd be pissed too, getting paid a pittance to decide how many million$ to give to someone who's already set for life through life insurance, donations, family support, etc....
      Jurors should get a cut from EVERY award they give when it's such a huge amount.

      No she’s not doing fine did you not hear how CRPS presents it’s self and now because of the awful people not doing their jobs she will suffer more in future. She had the most painful diagnosis and they gave her nothing more than a strong ASPRIN. They went through court so no other child suffers in this much pain again because the doctors and nurses are lazy they’d rather say rude things then look it up in a book and they would rather call a little girl a liar.. it chills me to the bone that people can walk away from hearing all testimonies and still say horrible things about this little girl.

    Really not impressed with this judge. I realize that this is a complicated trial but his impatience and condescending attitude towards the lawyers, on both sides, strikes me as unprofessional. He always appeared to be watching the clock and in a rush to get out of the courtroom.

    I am wondering if the jury is just voicing their frustration in the prosecution for referring to documents that are not in evidence. I would guess they are not sympathetic to the prosecutors.

    Imagine going to a school, that produces the language skills demonstrated by that jury representative. To talk like that is one thing, but to put pen to paper and still fail to construct a sentence, in a court setting. That's just shameful.

    very sad, and very hard to understand when your sitting in this situation relaying on at least some judgment from the jury, and unfortunately this is how it is. people are mean spirited and so true on having had my own experiences from hospitals poor behaviors, courtrooms, and a jury these are now the realities of peoples behaviors, with many professionals, and even with so much trauma involved🥀

    Seems to me the plaintiffs just relied on a 200 million lump to be split between them . Even though the verdict forms were specifically designed before the deliberations with both sides. I rewatched the relevant testimony and it is just a lot of speculation about earnings and support this family needs ..then you know the freight train heading to college at 10 who was derailed by the interruption of her ketamine.

    Just because the juror has poor grammar… does NOT mean he’s uneducated.. my husband says “we was” “ should have went” ( and that makes my hiney hole pucker) but is soooo smart.

    the jury has been told they will have all the evidence. Why does the court not know if this is in evidence? The trial was broadcast on Courtv & Law/crime youtube how about playback the testimony from youtube!!!

      Information from demonstrative aids is not evidence. Same for opening and closing statements/arguments.

    I don’t know why but that defense attorney with glasses who hasn’t spoken a word comes off as smug and creepy af. Even when the defense was making closing arguments he was looking at his fellow counsel with just a perplexed look, yet every other attorney on the defense was calm and respectful with their body language. In a case about optics they sure fumbled having him on the team. In my opinion.
