As a critical care worker in the hospital setting. I seriously hope this story and many more is going to keep coming forward on the corruption going on in the setting. My heart since day 1 has been with this family and finally some justice to show these hospitals that no matter how much power they think they hold. We the people and our families will triumph them! Please everyone stand together and help us change the hospital setting in so many ways! Please! We want to be better, but need so much support from everyone to make the changes for the better of you! We want you to feel that your getting the best care! We want you to feel safe! Most importantly that we want you to be healed! Please help us, help you!

Healthcare workers and patients united for the best care! Love it!
Bureaucracy and government agencies need to butt out of medicine!
There must be a huge gulf & broad daylight between medicine and government!
Do your agency work far outside the doctor's office!
Your Doctor patient relationship is SACRED and must not be violated by "good intentions"!
No treatments should be stigmatized. Especially when they also stigmatize the patient and families for even MENTIONING them! If Opioids / Ketamine / Adderall / Xanax etc., help you to NOT suffer and maybe even aid you to live a more functional life, engaging in your life and right to practice your religion, so be it.
One medication that's somehow a problem for one person, is a lifeline for another.
One doctor may be better at explaining the details of a medication or therapy. They may be better about teaching responsible management of medications or therapies, and may be more familiar or comfortable prescribing them...
... which is why some people need to "doctor shop" for second, third, fourth, opinions. This should be considered a good thing, not a bad thing.
You should be comfortable with your doctor, just accepting the first one you go to... can't be... "just the way it is".
You want a wise & compassionate medical provider. It's your life we're talking about here, you only have one.
      🧡🧡🥀🌸🤗🌸🥀🧡🧡
      God bless you!

For me, personally, them calling her ketamine girl in reference to her mother's suicide sealed the deal for me. I kept an open mind when it came to the plaintiff & defense. Bedy and Smith both showed their general vile natures. Their lack of compassion & professionalism screamed accountability needed. JHAC sunk to new levels when they stood behind those two. I hope they never ever ever get a job in those same capacities. What they did was criminal IMHO. I really really want to know what she got arrested for?!

    • @Lilredridinghood555
      @Lilredridinghood555 Рік тому

There is no cure, this is a very rare disease. It starts as an injury or after surgery by the time you are actually diagnosed you have seen every doctor had every test to be told it’s all in your head. Years of agony and pain. The next step is just treating symptoms, yet due to the government trying to control our doctors we are not able to live our best lives. Constantly taking away the scripts that work because the drugs are abused by others. There should be a special protocol for medication allowances that can be prescribed to those of us who suffer from CPRS which had previously been labeled as RSD. I am praying this situation will bring our silent disease and the many obstacles that follow into the light. I look forward to not being treated like a drug addicted at the local pharmacy, of a drug seeker by other medical professionals and their staff. I would like to hug Maya and thank her family for standing up to the giants among us.

Mandatory reporting is critically important, I hope people don’t change their minds about that. This case is not about mandatory reporting, however. This case is about persecution, unfounded assumptions, power trips, and misogyny. If Maya’s mom was not involved in the first place, and the dad was sole caretaker, Munchausen’s by proxy wouldn’t have even been on the table. Psychiatry has a long history of labeling and mistreating women. As a retired pediatrician I’ve seen many cases reported to CPS. Never have I seen such an abuse of power by so many people in positions of power. Maya, I pray you and your family can have some peace now that the litigation is over. I know money can’t do anything about losing your mom, but maybe you can use some of it to bring light to CRPS, appropriate treatment of suspected child abuse patients, and to improve yours and your family’s lives. Best wishes to you.

For the past hour I've been trying to say what you have just said. Accusations have the power to destroy lives, and we've seen that throughout history with the Salem Witch trials and the McCarthy hearings. Giving the wrong person the power to make accusations can cause a tremendous amount of grief. And those accusations can gain traction through the aid of unfounded assumptions, power trips, and misogyny.

Therefore, it is also an absurd judgment. In this country, millions of people cannot afford medical help in the event of a serious illness. Who feels sorry for them? And, there were horrible cases of Munchausen By Proxy Syndrome. Healthcare providers shouldn't have to be afraid to step in.

There are certainly no guarantees that appeals will work. It's also possible that the hospital will settle due to these huge numbers. Their reputation has been damaged by this trial and they, too, have spent a huge amount on attorneys fees. In addition, the probability is that they will now have to face more similar lawsuits.

This went way beyond duty to report. These “professionals” made this case way to personal and reached a wrong conclusion right away, and even when proof was presented, they still would not acknowledge they may be approaching all wrong. They went way to far. I think there must be a general mentality that creates a hostile relationship between patient and medical staff. How can you do no harm when you want to do harm proving your point? God help any other patient that dares too attempt any input concerning their health needs or care. I think this is by far the worse story I have heard. Not looking to go to John Hopkins for any sort of treatment, just entering could forever alter your life.

Jury members being enabled to communicate with the plaintiff(s) or whoever upon post-verdict (or whenever for that matter) is going to instill some (or perhaps even a lot of) beforehand bias... as any juror could look forward to promoting appease-based gratitude to whomever they'd prefer. And now these jury members are headed back to privately discuss whatever they feel are "suitable" punishments for JH Hospital, bringing at least something of a "don't let me down now" influence with them.

I don't understand how this isn't a mistrial. Extra hours given not once but TWICE to plaintiffs. And in doing so, rushed the defense at the end because jury was promised an end date. Completely biased judge who didnt let in most of evidence that defense asked for. Kept a juror that had obviously made up their mind halfway through trial and on and on and on... so many valid reasons to appeal
