  • The Florida woman accused of suffocating her boyfriend to death in a suitcase and recording him crying out for help while locked inside is set to represent herself at her upcoming murder trial. Boone has gone through eight public defenders since her arrest in 2020. The judge overseeing the accused suitcase killer’s case has rejected her request to have standby counsel to assist her at trial, effectively forcing her to represent herself. Law&Crime’s Jesse Weber breaks down the latest development in Boone’s legal saga.

It's hilarious that she thinks she's in control as if she is in fact an attorney rather than in the custody of the state. She truly thinks deserves special consideration because she's untrained in the law. She's was going to lose anyway but now she's going to lose spectacularly

@@Tammy_26Irwin to be fair though - the county jail has a library which has law books - she could have been reading them and finding out about how things work so that she knew - even when she had a counsel, it's still useful to know what the process is etc - rather than bleat and moan they aren't doing anything when they are turning up to the hearings that she's now bleating and moaning about having to be at!

Yes, some county jails have law libraries for inmates to use for legal research and writing. However, not every jail has the resources to provide a large law library with many volumes, librarians, and a dedicated research area.

She seems to truly believe the fact that this wasn’t “intentional” means she did nothing wrong. How she went four years without coming to understand manslaughter is honestly baffling. She truly thinks she should just be allowed to walk and her whiny voice with the judge saying she wants things done differently is just amazing. She seems to have an infinite capacity to just not grasp things that are not in her favour

@anitamartini5144 well an attorney would have easily argued that they were drinking and messing around playing a game. how else would a grown man get into a small suitcase and allowed it to be zip shut? which you could hear in her voice she was intoxicated. which like drunk driving your intentions aren’t to kill someone but intoxicated could result in lapse of judgment and loss of motorskills. which he willingly got into the suitcase which meant he was in on the “game”, and then she said she went upstairs and fell asleep. which this could all be turned into manslaughter. She didn’t say in her video she made that she was “going to let him die in there”. So I see why this could be turned into manslaughter by an experienced attorney.
