Interesting timing. 26 years behind the chair. 21 years self employed in 4 different countries, currently the highest ranked hairdresser on google maps in Switzerland. It has been 18 years since I had my last assistant. My wife is pregnant and i'm looking to reduce my working days but increase my working hours. I'm looking to change from single booking to dbl booing. So much to consider!

Actually, I’ve had clients express that they like coming to my salon because they aren’t shuffled between me and an assistant. They prefer the one on one. That feedback has definitely made me step back from the idea. I allow the correct amount of time so making a client wait isn’t an issue with my double booking, but I would like to have help with the things that aren’t my favorite, like shampooing and blowouts.

Ultimately it's your business and I would make a decision based on where you want to take it in the future and go from there! Thanks for watching.

I never assisted or worked in a salon that had assistants so I never seen it actually in action. How do you figure out how to adjust your schedule to double book? (Something I’ve also never done)
