Making Anti-Fungal Black Walnut Salve

- I am so happy I found out that black walnuts are anti-fungal. I had no idea. I had hoped it would clear up my grandsons cheeks but he really needed something else. I will be using this for other things though. I will also be making a tincture to try on toenail fungus as well as warts.
Let me know what your favorite salve is. Here is the recipe for this walnut salve...
3.5 oz (100g) infused oil (about 1/2 cup)
0.5 oz (14g) beeswax pastilles (about 2 loosely filled tablespoons)
3 drops clove essential oil
18 drops lavender essential oil
3-5 drops vitamin E drops
1. Combine the infused oil and beeswax into a heat proof jar or melting container.
2. Set jar into a pan containing several inches of water (put a folded cloth under jar).
3. Place pan over. medium-low burner and allow the heat to gently melt the beeswax.
4. Once melted, remove from heat.
5. Stir in the essential oils of choice, then pour into containers.
7. Let cool and cover with the lids.
8. Label and store in cool dry spot. Shelf life is around 1+ years.
Let me know if you make this and how you used it.
Blessings my friends,
Penny

Thank you so much Sue! Blessings friend!
Love the video!!! Salves are a great way to keep your skin from getting infections and fungus! They keep the skin clean and fungal free
Thanks so much! 😁
Great, fantastic marvelous Video! I hope that little sweetie pie is feeling better! I SUBSCRIBED!😊🌱
It just dawned on me to look at the date of when this video was posted! I’m sure he’s doing better by now😊💗
Thank you so much for your kind words! And welcome to our Open Hand Farm family. No worries, I understand. I do the same thing all the time when I see a video. I always forget to look at the dates. He is very well and actually hasn’t had that happen again since then. I hope to hear from you again soon! Blessings!
@@OpenHandFarm Good to hear the rash hasn’t returned!😊
Really tanks dear
I’m sorry, I’m not sure what you mean.
@@OpenHandFarm I wanted to say that I really liked the video and the way you prepared the salve. Do you think it is possible to use this method to make an salve with boric acid?
Thanks Steve. I have not made boric acid myself, but I did find this recipe that you could try. I hope it works for you.

I would also use colloidal silver spray and start building his immune system.Adding pre and probiotics, ideally from non dairy fermented foods, lots of greens, fresh fruit (low in sugar) and vegetable, and lower his intake of bad carbohydrates (elimination would be ideal). Also, like someone else mentioned, no dairy. I would do some testing for food allergies and intolerances, if possible, and a viramins and minerals deficiency.Lots of kids with this type of issue have a low or lower vitamin D.
Hope your grandson is fine by now.Wish him well, and pray he'll never go through this again.
Oh, thank you so much for all of this! I will share with his mother. He is clear skinned right now, and has been for a little while because we did take him off dairy. Thank you so much for your concern! 😁
Im in Texas, ido my tenture, with ever clear, or 151, or 90 proof up, i got several batches started this year, last yr i was too late,
Thanks for sharing that tip with me. I’m sorry you were too late last year, but blessings on your tincture making this year!
For staph the answer would be Usnea
Thanks!!!
Black walnut, your favorite
Right??? 😂😂
My granddaughter had skin like this vheeks, fold I'm back of knee and inside elbow. Turns out she was being bathed to often. I started buying Vaseline on it daily and it went away or she grew out of it. Dr. said it was exema from over drying out skin from bathing. Let us know how the salve worked
My granddaughter has that problem but it only comes out when those areas are warm. We have not figured out what triggers it. We used the salve for a few days and were seeing improvement but he had a checkup scheduled and the dr prescribed something and mom decided to go with that. He has started getting red again with the colder weather so I may see if she wants to give it another go. Thanks for watching and for commenting! I hope it works for you! 😁
well it stands to reason, since the kid has something going on with his skin. the extra oils essentials and bees wax should have been omitted. just in case he's allergic..... other than penny I love your recipe, Penny how to use for yeast infection?
Thanks for the idea. We had used the same oil as well as beeswax on him in another cream and they had helped some so I chose to go ahead and add to ointment. I understand your concern though! 😁 I am not sure how this could be used for yeast. Perhaps you could google yeast and black walnut to see if you could find something that you felt comfortable with. Thanks so much for watching and commenting! 😁
You can take the tincture orally. That might do it alone. Depends on where the yeast infection is. You can get them in the mouth or even folds of skin, which would be easy. I am assuming you could make a suppository for female yeast issues too. I have not ever done that though. Good luck!
You need the hull the walnut sits in
It might be hard to tell but that is what I am using. It is just dried and crushed. Thanks for watching!
@@OpenHandFarm ok I just wasn’t sure looked like the hard shell ground lol!
@@debbievinsant4610 thanks so much for being concerned. I actually had to go back and look at what I had ordered because I did second-guess myself after you said what you did. Luckily, it was the hulls! Here is the link where I got them.

Thanks again so much for your concern! I appreciate you. 😁
That's pretty cool. Question: Do you use the shell or the meat of the walnut or the part that surrounds the shell? I may have missed you saying. Hope little man's face clears up quickly.
I need to know too
Hi friends, are used walnut husks that I ordered from Amazon. Here is the link that uses fresh black walnuts…thenerdyfarmwife.com/black-walnut-salve/
I hope this answers your questions. His face is getting much better. Thank you so much for your concern! You guys are the best! ❤️

@@OpenHandFarm I got some I picked up so it is the green hill turned black lol
@@gingermaney3809 perfect!
Would the nut oil itself be useful for same purpose.
I don’t see why not unless it would be too strong. I suppose you could use a Q-tip and put it on a very small spot and see what you think. Hope this helps! 😁
Hi I just made me some black walnut tincture and I did an oil infusion but I made it from the hull. Is that salve made from the actual nuts or the hull?? Thank you
It is made from the hull! 😁
You make both a tincture and a oil infusion from the hulls.
But ive one cooking i have to separate but its green leaves, off the tree, early spring. N then weather weird so allot, of the black wallnuts fell, just as made, bees got to them early msybe but i had mowed n was walking the dog, got them as they fell in one day, tiny, those i let set in the 151, few mos, just drained it today, n the tiny whole sprouts, i just blended n started new batch, of tincture, from that, my hulls. I cut in board, n wash the oils into my jar i already have 151 halfway full in so i dont let them oxidize, you want all those green drops, i cut out all the black on this batch, of husks, the black ones im making weed killer out of and grinding up maghots with that weed killer batches n my leaves i let dry out im blending them into weed killer for the fence linne n driveway , ive not made sauaves yet outa our wax but ill try now with extra, i dobt want my honey much padt room temput kills the good things, same with colking n heat its fine for varieties. To have fullly loadrd arsenals, but if i dont heal in day or two, i m diging out the fangs, thorn, glass, getting out the hairs n pimple s n soaking with these oils now, i use them pure n straight on warts n ingrown hsirs. But on full body thats about qt, to 4 eye droppers, of those two oils, n rest water. Is just guessing 15 , or 1.5 percent solutions. Ivermectin as well from tractor supply, if its ring worms, from cat he been hugging
Wow, you have shared so much information! I never knew it was so good for so many things. Thanks again for watching it for commenting! Good luck on those weeds!😁
What part of the black walnut?…
Hi! Thanks for asking! It is the hull of the walnut. That is the green outer layer on a fresh black walnut. Hope this helps!
Raw Manuka honey will help kill the staph
Great to know! Thanks so very much! 😁
These tentures. I may can drink, now but im thinking cold filter , if i do heat any illl do it to distill out the water n alcohol. Or ill let it evaporate, but those two processes we loose most of the other elements, 266, of those in everything god gave us
It is amazing how God has given us so many things to work with! Thanks so much for sharing! 😁
Hello . I don’t quite understand how you prepare the ointment, but in order for it to act against fungi, it must contain juglone, the main active ingredient of black walnut. To detect it, mix part of the ointment with an alkaline solution of NaOH or washing powder, caustic soda, and ammonia solution. An intense purple color should appear. Good luck.

Thank you so much for this information! I’ll see if I can test it and see what it does. Thanks for watching and for commenting. 😁
I have not heard of a black Walnut hull not having it
@@SanderaTheGypsy Juglone degrades very quickly. Do the check as I wrote to you to make sure it is available.
This must always be done, otherwise there is a big risk that the juglone will collapse.
Take him off dairy..
Thanks for the advice. He is actually dairy free now and doing better. 😁
