i love how maru was fighting scarlet for those minerals when he still had minerals in his main.
This reminds me of that day, when I was working at Subway, my mate had called in sick so I was there, all on my own. Everything was fine, until a whole soccer team came and ordered 24 foot longs, in the middle of the frenzy my girlfriend called to tell me she was pregnant. I went to the back to cry a little, and then when I was wiping my tears I remembered I had chilli in my hands. I called the manager and told him I was done, when I got home, I was feeling a little better, but then my girlfriend called again, to tell me she was sorry, the kid wasn't mine. I was so happy I cried again.

This match made me think of one thing: Exterminatus.
More like siege of vraks, where artillery was used to hit the defense line and then move closing barrage to prevent enemy reinforcing line... except when bunch of chaos marines cause havoc and wreck majority of the lines there was. Maru just gave up before imperial reinforcements manage to arrive :D

Also on most cases h is silent after a w: white, what, when, where, why, wheel -> h is silent, so for that case you could also spell well as whell and phonetically it would still be the same. There is an exception for who, whom and perhaps there are some other cases in which the w is the silent letter but quite frankly haven't met those cases yet.
If you're among those who pronounce what as hwhat, can't call you a dumb ass for that, it's something that some dialects, and in some accents, is still being kept ever since old/mid English regardless we are talking about US or UK. Not incorrect, just not very used anymore, not even in England.
What it used to be written like was "hƿaet" where "hƿ" = "hw"; this case is still met today among the Scandinavian languages ("hvad" is "what" in Danish) and even some upper parts of England.

Part of this was because they were both playing on chinese clients so yeah. Nuke announcements on Chinese. That was dirty trick from Maru.

Of course Maru doesn't know the exact positions of all the zerg structures, but at the end of the game I would have loved to see him just try to cheese and kill all the zerg structures with a hit squad of vikings and win without even killing Scarlett's army.
That would probably be a good strategy there, but wouldn't Scarlett see them coming through the creep?

The thing is even scarlett forgot that maru can float his building so I guess the game is just so exhausting that both of then had not even think about such thing as floating building to the edge of a corner to force a draw

This is the greatest game of Starcraft 2 (or Starcraft) that I have ever seen. The ending was disappointing for the same reason that Winter gave, but it is still the best game.

I highly disagree with just floating your buildings to the deadspace and forget them there forever, because looking at it, while it is a mechanic for terrans when it comes down to tech swinging from reactors and mass production to advanced unit production without having to have 6000 buildings to reach the output that balances out zerg's mass building and the mobility of the protoss with pylons and warp prisms it also acts as a "fail safe" way to just draw it out/outright win if certain conditions like points are met without any compensatory ability for zergs or protoss if they were to be in the same scenario. If that is the case, allow zerg buildings to burrow but at a higher larva cooldown or protoss buildings to dewarp/unwarp/dismantle/recycle and give a partial sum back and then you might say: well, if the enemy has no anti-air, then terran draws/wins because flying buildings; if the enemy has no detection then zerg draws/wins because the buildings are burrowed, if the enemy has no resources or ability to siege the buildings while there still are units capable of defending then protoss draws/wins because they can simply dismantle their building and build the necessary units to win or not.
At that point, Scarlett was deserving of the win, regardless of Maru forgetting or not that he can just float his buildings to the deadspace and then take a toilet break while leaving the game running out of time do it's own thing. Fly to rearrange on the map ? Sure. Fly to win in impossible scenarios ? Don't really think so. That would imply you just have to have 2 AA units tucked away in the corner of the map hoping that the time to use them never comes become god damned terran have guess what ? Flying fail safes.
It may be just so that Maru claimed he forgot that he can float his buildings (which seems incredible given the fact that he floated his entire main base the left side 2 minutes before GGing out) only because he wouldn't want to have to resort to that thing of "hahahahha screw you biology we got thrusters !!!!!11!!1!!".
Or just give building max time they can be in the air (fuel ?). I recently lost a win due to terran just floating in the corner far from my stalkers. Stupid
Imagine if, say, a protoss has lost every single unit/buildings other than a ring of cannons around a pylon, while the opponent has something like 5 marines or 10 zerglings left. Should that pylon run out of power? How bout a few creep tumors surrounded by spines/spore?
@@yp8495 The main thing here is that those cannons and spines are not going to float away with an almost magic whisper echoing in your head "You're screwed, fam.". If you were Scarlett would you feel like: "Ah yes, that design choice has to be encountered at some point, let me make some 5 minute corruptors that I will hide away in the corner of the map, just for the perfect moment to snipe some flying objectives."
Or like someone said in the comments below: "make them count as "dead" buildings". Or maybe even add a new state to buildings while floating: "Suspended activity." Cuz it's not like that can do anything except land/fly, if a buildings sits for more than, idk, 3 minutes ? in "Suspended activity." mode, it counts as a defeat. I mean, you're not going to look for a base for 3 minutes to land your CC. So that could get rid of this. But I do get your point.

I don't think they intended it to go this far, but in such a scenario the game also looks at the time since a unit took damage from an enemy and if the (same) player is or has been mining within a certain time period. Don't know of this is still the case nor the time it is/was (or at least should be...)
Zerg and protoss army have more mobility in terms of nydus network and warping, which the terran lack. To compensate that inbalance the mobility in terran race has been given to their buildings.
It says specifically on the rules that the points have to be at least 20% or higher than the opponent for them to win via a point tie.
His vision is free of zerg, and also glowing brightly green for the next four thousand years.

Yo winter, long-ass time ytube viewer here. This was a damn good cast, it was enjoyable seeing you screaming and freaking out for dem infestors' lives, almost on par with Rotti's cast. I know you've been feeling pretty jaded over the years, but you sure get that peak performance back when sufficiently hyped : ) Gj.
Also does it feel like ultra late game's terran is stronger than zerg then? been in Scarlett's shoes once or twice on ladder, it's just yikes the way nuke spams forced mistakes out of zerg player, slip once and bam! there goes ~20 drones.

Actually, I think a big part of what lost Maru the game other than the brain dead mistake at the end, was sinking too much resources into those turrets. It was smart to use them in the early mid game in small numbers to protect from the mutalisk harass and to turtle up with some static defenses in the late game particularly at important choke points and on the front line bases so the ghosts and army have a buffer to fall back into, but he went so overboard with it.
Each of those turrets could have instead been two marines in the late game. Even just a converting a dozen of those turrets into 24 marines at the end could have given his army a big boost in firepower and a much needed shield for his ghosts to prevent the ling surround. That is really what lost him that final battle at the end where both sides were spent out. It was losing all the ghosts and their ability to snipe that doomed him.
But other than that. Yeah, the bronze league heroes had it right apparently. O_o

this should be an additonal campaign mission. playing as zerg, starting with half the map creeped up, with terrans nuking it all. or the other way around. as terran, trying to clear the map from all the creep

The end of this match almost gave me a stroke. When Winter joked that the only way Maru could lose was to forget he could float his buildings I laughed. Then as the minutes slipped by that joke turned from a funny quip to a prophetic tragedy and my laughter to tears of frustration and pain as Maru conceded and the blood vessels in my brain began hemorrhaging.

Scarlett's unaware misdirection with killing of the planetaries was the winning move.
