Ford Edge/Lincoln MKX Transmission Service How-To

- This video shows you how to drain the transmission fluid and refill process on the Ford Edge and will be the same on the Lincoln MKX since it shares the same chassis. This transmission does have a internal filter but is not serviceable unless the transmission cases are split. Ford recommends you drain and refill the transmission fluid every 30k miles. Transmission fluid was purchased from Amazon and I will share a link to it below along with the long funnel and thread sealant.

Thank you for this video. I done mine today and all went smooth, thanks to you,
Well done - appreciate how clear you were in your video.
Great video! Thanks so much!!
Wow your finger nails are really short lol Nice job on the car n a great video. It's so clean it's hard to see, Nicely done😊
Great video quick question I did the same thing you did and my dipstick shows no fluid on it after warm up does that mean it’s still low I need to add fluid
Yes if it’s not showing when warmed up and running you will need to add a little more until it starts showing on the dipstick. Just don’t overfill and remember atf expands with heat so if it’s not fully warmed up make sure you don’t fill to the max on the dipstick.
I have same year ford edge also and i have a clunk into gear problem only in the cold mornings when i'm leaving for work. what helps is that i have remote start to help get the engine close to operating temp. when the temp is 50 degree or more i have no issues. i live in Iowa. the fluid checks good on the dipstick any thoughts on what this clunk could be.. i know this is a how to video for trans flush but do you have any insight to this kinda problem?
By the way great 2014 ford edge videos.... this help to to keep me in check with my vehicle
check trans or engine mounts .

Thanks for the update
Looks like you meeeicses chewing your funniest lol😅
Did this improve gas mileage?
No this will just help with shifting and longevity of the transmission.
Why don’t you look in the owners manual to see how much fluid it takes.
Because you never get all of it out by this method so you never quite get the full fill.
Oh, makes sense. Thanks for clarifying.
