- HOW TO FIX TRANSMISSION THAT SHIFTS HARD SLIPPING FORD EDGE LINCOLN MKX
If your transmission shifts hard or is slipping we will show you what we use to fix it for cheap. Our Ford Edge transmission was shifting hard but not always and sometimes the transmission was slipping but not all the time. If the transmission shifts hard or slipping only sometimes it means that either you have contaminated transmission fluid, sticking solenoid or wore out fluid. We used Lucas Transmission oil additive and after 200 miles the transmission was shifting like new again. It should work also on Lincoln MKX since they share the same transmission.

How long did this transmission last?
Thanks man... Your videos are very helpful... I own a 2009 Edge and thanks to you I can now fixed common issues...
Great presentation.
2008 Ford Edge AWD 108,000 miles. Hard shifting transmission. 1/2 quart Lucas oil fixed the problem. Lucas Oil works.
Do you think it will work if i have like 197000 miles
@@klassylove5503 it can't hurt to try
Put my ford flex a lucas and it started leaking more
That's very good... It's working... I do all the time.
Thank you. Good channel.
How do u do it bro
I am in Nigeria how can I get the fluid
I love you guys, thanks bro
Absolutely Feckin Awesome
Can you put Lucas transmission fluid in a Citroen C8 AL4 automatic transmission gearbox thanks.
How do you clean the solenoids from a Ford Edge
Can I put a 2010 edge trans to my 08? Or are they different
Can I use Lucas additive in a skyactive transmission
Mine shifts hard when going thru the gears like D N R and when i accelerate till the car pass the 2nd the downshift is hard but except that it's alright
Can I use Lucas in skyactive transmission
Super‼️
👍😉😀
Do you recommend do a flush service? or just 50/50?
Thank you for the video, we have an issue with our 2008 Mkx, when it rains, we get very erratic shifting and the vehicle does not want to accelerate. On dry days it drives fine, but do get the occasional hard shifting. I think moisture is getting somewhere it shouldn’t, maybe the solenoid? Is there something I can check out or does it need to go to a repair shop? Thank you
This is usually caused by water in the fuel. It's expensive to fix. Usually need to replace the fuel tank which is a lot of labor. Modern vehicles have plastic tanks that can't rust but older models like yours (older than 2012) are steel and moisture sits on top of the fuel tank and eventually rusts a hole into the tank where the fuel pump enters the tank. This lets moisture into the tank when you drive in the rain or through puddles after the rain or if you drive through water and mud off-road. The cheap but temporary "fix" would be to pour a bottle of water remover (alcohol) into the tank at each fill-up but it is a bandaid solution. If you do have a rusted fuel tank it is just going to get worse until it won't run at all and possibly damage the engine.
Hi
Thank you for your time and consideration to make this work easier
..
What is the diagnosis in OBD II
Any code appears?
I wish to receive your answer
Thank you again and again
Can i use this in kia rio 2013 ?
Problem is when you buy a vehicle people can use this and hide the real problem. 🤑😱
How true! Welcome to the used car dealer!
If the problem is a stuck solenoid and it doesn't slip or hard shift anymore, that means the solenoid isn't stuck anymore, so problem solved. I added it to my Tahoe transmission that was slipping and hard shifting, and it doesn't slip anymore, and hasn't for about 70,000 miles. I'd say that means it's fixed, if not then I don't care.
Does that work for shudder?
You never mentioned "how much" you added to the transmission fluid. Did you use the whole bottle? Or just a few ounces?
He used 12 ounces.
You cannot access the filter on these transmissions unless you disassemble the transmission . There is no transmission oil pan ! Change your fluid every 30,000 miles .
Mine shits good in 2,34,th, etc But from first to second. It sucks, I hope this works!
Mines does the same found the issue/fix?
I have Lincoln MKT 2016 -what is a transmission service.everything is running good.
My MKT 14 started having this problem...
Didn't work in my moms car the transmission just went out a fee minutes ago
My car doesnt have a dipstick to check rhe transmission fluid. What the heck. 2016 ford edge sport eco boost
My 2008 ford edge needs an oss and a tss sensor thats why my transmission is kicking hard do you have any videos on that
Did you fix it?
It’s a big job transmission has to be dropped. I had the dealer do it.
@@user-ht9kr3tg9u This is wrong, the sensors can be accessed through the plastic cover on the front of the trans. Did this job on the street in front of my house.
@@jonathanreed5139Please do explain more🧐 I currently have this issue and my car only goes in reverse. P0720 is the code I keep getting(output speed sensor) one of my mechanics says the transmission is done the other says try Lucas and replace sensor 🤷🏾♂️
I have a 2011 chevy Malibu and the scanner detected 2 codes (P0783, P2714)
P0783 = Transformation pressure switch solenoid “E” circuit high
P2714= Pc solenoid 4 stuck off
My car it has been skipping like crazy for 3/4months. Maybe if i try using Lucas and changing transmission oil do you guys think these 2 codes will go away and check engine will be wiped away completely? Thank you !
No
What can cause it to slip for no reason .. drove home every ing was good. Took it about a hour later and started slip.. non stop..
Are this transmission after 300k?
Excelentes videos, Me gustaria que le pusieras subtitulos en español a tus videos saludos desde México
How do I add this fluid without over filling my transmission though? Can I just add it to the current level or do I need to drain some out prior?
You can just add it in you might have to drain with a second bottle
get a pump, pump out the exact amount that is in the bottle then add the bottle
can i use this lucas transmission fix in a 2015 ford escape 2.0 EcoBoost that requires mercon lv
yep work great
Is it ok to use with CVT transmission?
Nope
I remember looking at a taurus x with the 3.5. I asked the ford garage where i worked what they thought. They said dont but it with the cvt only if it's the 6 speed
Does the Lucas help help with a shudder problem?
Any answer
If it’s so shuddering while you accelerate, it could easily be an ignition issue… have you replaced your spark plugs, coil packs, and injectors? And is the check engine light on? My MKX was shuddering whenever I accelerated and it felt like it could have been a transmission issue, but in reality it was misfiring. After replacing the above parts, it does not shudder and I can distinctly feel the transmission shifting rough, it’s much different than the shuddering. I would address the ignition issues first! They have great videos on that too
Where are you from? This Lucas stuff is heavy and thick like honey! Like the old STP formula. It increases viscosity which raises the oil pressure in your transmission which will improve shifting because your oil pump has low pressure because it is wearing out! Will help for a while!
@@jcc8206 Usually if the passages are plugged up your transmission will not move at all! Change the fluid and filter if you can? If the cleaners loosen up dirt they have to be trapped somewhere like in the filter! I added an additional in-line filter to my Honda Odyssey and change it every 10K miles! Some of the newer transmissions do not shed any clutch material into the fluid! The Honda Odyssey early models have small screens in the shift solenoids that can be removed and cleaned! Again if seals are leaking internally and dropping oil pressure Lucas can help this by thickening the transmission fluid.
You can not add to full transmission folks.
Ok guys
Guys, Guys, Guys, Guys, Guys, Guys... Otherwise - a good video.
Where is the valve body
Add more fluid to a full transmission ... sounds like a bad idea ... GUYS!!!!
That's what I'm thinking! I wonder how many people are going to overfill their system now...
Never change fluid on a vehicle with more than 100k you will end up replacing the trans
I got a Lincoln mkz it slips once it hits 4th gear what should I do ?
Wouldn't you be over filling it by adding this fluid.
Possibly. Most likely.
Remove the amount of fluid for the amount you will add if the mark was originally on the full mark on the dipstick.
Hello Guys, thanks for your videos. Do you have any video on taking this solinoid bank out of the Ford edge. Lucas worked for awhile but I believe I definitely have sticking solinoids that need to be cleaned. If you could respond with a link to one of your videos to help me out, I would appreciate it. Either way thank you for the videos, I have used yours a few times.
Hell no
What if I identify as a “girl” guys?
Ford never stands behind their junk. I was about to buy a Bronco, then I remembered how crappy Ford customer service is
Never trust someone with a fake Russian/German accent...😂😂😂😂
He looks like a nice guy but he's hard to listen to
You never change fluid, you change filter...
You change both regularly if you care about your vehicle.
@@kentkirkpatrick7953 yeah if you change regularly you can change the fluid, but you never changed don't do it... Depends on maintenance of vehicle for sure
@@jeromegarcia5396 that sounds better and more understandable then your first comment.
