Perry Ferrell is one of the best and funniest front guys ever. Some of his stage moves make me laugh! What a unique character! I hope he lives to be 90. Can you Imagine the stories he could tell about his rock star life? Even now I bet he has some crazy and incredible stories! And I’d like to hear every damn one of them.
He's eccentric is all. Was always like this. We never found it funny, per se. It just was what it was. Entertaining. Wish you all in your generation would make something unique and interesting. Makes me sad
I remember when I first heard this song I was thinking “well that should be the end of the heavy metal era” I’m so glad I was right!! Jane’s was the primary for the new 90s sound
I saw Jane's Addiction in 1991 at Leeds University students union and it still remains in my top 5 gigs of my life, only topped by Prince and Kate Bush. They were unbelievably good. I don't think there will ever be such a pair like Farrell and Navarro again.
Oh my God! The best year, the band was in it's heyday. I'm so jealous. It would definitely stay with me my whole life. Was the venue good? Wait, Leeds as in England?
I was blessed to have seen Jane's about a dozen times back in the day. Stephen Perkins always stood out. He's a great drummer. The other thing was the girls. The chicks of my generation who were into Jane's were the absolute greatest.
This band created two albums which were masterpiece works of art. These two albums were and are important works which history will look very kindly on. I see them in the same light as I see the genius of Joy Division's two landmark albums. These two bands were absolute brilliance......
For the person complaining about the phones, this concert was a documentary concert for the release of a 3D phone. Over 200 invitees plus 20 NYU Film students were given devices to record at various time slots throughout the show. All devices were later collected and downloaded for footage to be used in the 3D documentary of this concert.
Damn much different than today 😢 Wish Perry hadn't had that breakdown and attack Dave like he did...hopefully he gets the help he needs 👊🏾👍🏾🎶 Wanna see them in Portland!
Ele surtou porque a voz não estava nesse nível do vídeo! Eu também ficaria PUTO com isso. A voz dele rege a atmosfera sonora das músicas, tem que ficar altos, aparecer e sobressair !!!
I feel fortunate to have seen Jane's on the Ritual tour and again at the first Lollapalooza tour. The mosh pit at the cleveland music hall was insane. Rollins's band opened My friend and i were blown away.
Perry Ferrell is damn near a music god , if that status is possible , for me he is up there with Cobain , Hendrix , Roger waters , and who's who list of other super star greats
I remember listening to this song on a CD in a Car after seeing it live twice. Coming back from a 1990 Grateful dead show in Louisville and we were coming down the mountain. One of many children and for no one to just feel like we did and dance around makes me realize that the soul of humanity has truly died and we are the only ones left alive. ALIENS HAVE COME. SAVE YOURSELF. Cause if this doesn't get you moving aliens, nothing we have will. Sad. FUCKING SAD. I'm so .... DROP ME IN THE MIDDLE.
Really? Shut the fuck up you useless dope head! You lost all rights to comment once you typed> "Coming back from a Grateful (better off DEAD) concert"... Shhhhhhh!! Pussy.......
A MASTER PIECE THIS SONG ... NAVARRO GENIUS ... ONE OF THE BIGGEST BANDS OF AMERICA ... INNOVATION AND STYLE WITHOUT ANOTHER BAND SIMILAR ...BUT ... A BAND OF REAL CULT ? I DONT KNOW .. MY FAVORITE BAND I FROM 1988 TO 1992
I was threatened with a big flashlight and escorted outside by overzealous security guards from the Jane's show at the Tower theater in 1990 - right before the riot - for dancing. I'm proud of that. I left peacefully & hung out a while talking about life with two nice cops outside. Loved Jane's Addiction; They were a religious experience. They're all about life and love, and deep experiences. It was a beautiful time - College, Twin Peaks, Joseph Campbell, Patrick O'Hearn, and Jane's Addiction.
I was in the very last seat way up in the far left corner of the balcony. It was an epic show, for about 40 minutes. Still it was a far far far better show than this one in 2011 ^
Wow Perry was lookin great. Fuck 30 years has gone by since I first heard this song. I used to think about the song as I ran down Squaw Peak. I used to hike up amd Run down and of u didn't pay attention you could go off the side. I think I had the song on a cassette Walkman once maybe ,maybe not.
Not quite the original band, though. Eric Avery is not in this lineup. He and Perry couldn't settle their differences in the end. If you ask me, many of their songs would not be what they are without his bass parts. i.e. Summertime rolls, Three Days, etc.
Dave has that cool sexy style like Prince and I dig the way he’s open about porn he’s obsessed with tattoos guitar & porn how cool is that and let’s not forget he was married to Carmen Electra
Even though Navarro and Pharell are too freaky for my taste I always thought Navarro was a good guitarist and Pharell has vocal range. For some reason Pharells vocals in this song remind me of Achilles Last Stand or Misty Mountain Hop by Led Zeppelin Just like plants vocals in those songs Perry's vocals in this song cascade over the song with improvisation with the "yeah yeah" and the "oh oh oh". I like it. 👍
The intro reminds me of Queens "Modern time Rock and Roll. And the middle part reminds me of a Judas Priest song from the album "Sad Wings of Destiny".
Talk about SUCK. THE CROWD SUCKS. OMG. Put me up front in the pit at the start and watch the show firework. Saw Jane's live in 89, 90 and 91. , Eric Avery, Perkins? Navaro? And Perry? OMFG. WHY ARE NOT PEOPLE MOVING ON THIS VIDEO I AM WATCHING. THIS IS SAD. Drop me in front. I stage dove during 3 days when I was 21 and I'm ready to again at 42. Kids today. Lame. Suppressed. We were RELENTLESS!!!! We defied authority and we won. BUT KIDS TODAY SUCK!
Sadly that is possible especially with Dave Navarro-I get the vibe. And I checked out some of the music I liked over 30 years ago-Judas Priest. For the first time ever it made my hair stand on end. Not in a good way mind. And it sounded pretty much the same going backwards as forwards.
You may not be too far off at 2:53 you can plainly see the unicursal hexagram on Navarro's elbow, which is a symbol used in Crowley's religion Thelema and figures into the OTO. Not a tattoo a non occult practitioner would get.

D RolyPolyMan best of all, he can sing + hit them high notes 😂🔥🔥
@@mwiinga6052Not anymore. Not like he did. Guess you had to be there...andof age. But, that's life.
He's eccentric is all. Was always like this. We never found it funny, per se. It just was what it was. Entertaining. Wish you all in your generation would make something unique and interesting. Makes me sad
My buddy Chris on bass here. Nicest guy in the world and a monster on the instrument.
VOTE Jane's Addiction RNR Hall of Fame !!
I remember when I first heard this song I was thinking “well that should be the end of the heavy metal era”

I love watching Steven drum, he really gives it everything he's got and looks like he's having the best time.
I was blessed to have seen Jane's about a dozen times back in the day. Stephen Perkins always stood out. He's a great drummer. The other thing was the girls. The chicks of my generation who were into Jane's were the absolute greatest.
Saw this live and it changed everything ✌
It usually does.
This band created two albums which were masterpiece works of art. These two albums were and are important works which history will look very kindly on. I see them in the same light as I see the genius of Joy Division's two landmark albums. These two bands were absolute brilliance......
I met Perry a couple of times at the surf line up in Isabela, Puerto Rico. Good surfer and a very down to earth guy.
Saw’em at the Scream in 88’
2021 and they ain’t stopping for shit.
Best band of their generation! Perry is a force of nature and gives zero f*cks. Great performance.
Best song, I don’t think it gets any better for someone who enjoys moving through the mountains human powered.
Remember playing this song so loud and jumping round my bedroom so much my wardrobe fell to bits (:xxx
flanes and dr. martens
one of the most influential and original rock bands ever in the history of Rock and Roll... Viva Janes and Perry

That's awesome. I love Perry.
Damn much different than today 😢 Wish Perry hadn't had that breakdown and attack Dave like he did...hopefully he gets the help he needs 👊🏾👍🏾🎶 Wanna see them in Portland!

I,m old! I have seen a lot of bands play live. These guys sounded amazing in TX about 4 months ago! I can't stress enough how amazing Perry sounded.
I love the energy in this song! Perry Farrell still in great shape from all that surfing! What a life...What a Band!!!
I feel fortunate to have seen Jane's on the Ritual tour and again at the first Lollapalooza tour. The mosh pit at the cleveland music hall was insane. Rollins's band opened My friend and i were blown away.
Fired up! My fingers always on replay!
Perry Ferrell is damn near a music god , if that status is possible , for me he is up there with Cobain , Hendrix , Roger waters , and who's who list of other super star greats
He is a piece of work
Vocal alto! Como deve ser! Perfeito! Banda maravilhosa! 🤘🏽🤘🏽🤘🏽🤘🏽
What a song, what a show.
so good !
Never gets old !
This one wore me out as a drummer. Played it many times. Worked that right foot into a cramp beating the shit out of the bass.
Just keep playing it, you always play better the next day, when your muscles get more used to it.👍
Thanks for the warning. I was just thinking..., but my knee keeps popping from playing Cult of Personality over and over.
Gets the lactic acid building up for sure...try "Nightmare" from Dream Theater...talk about a killer!!
I gotta do it. Im putting the screws to the rest of the band. Any day now they'll come around 😂😂
Absolutely Awesome ❤😊
Dave killing it.
Eric really drove their songs with his bad ass bass lines. I heard many of the best tunes started with bass riffs. Great to see him with the band.
Is’nt that Chris Chaney on bass
OMG you're right 😂 scratch that last sentence. It was good to see him recently. Probably never will again though 😢@@georgenel9556
So good to hear Perry managing to stay in tune live.
finally.. a nice live video with good sound!
sick chops by Navarro
Nobody...and I mean NOBODY can even compare to Jane's Addiction!!!
I don't know why you would even want to embarrass yourself by wanting to be compared to them. Good song though.
hey--this song still sounds fucking awesome, 30 years later
dang--check this one out at 0.75 speed...

In Australia on channel 10 they always started with the intro to do this song.
Older hippie, David Navarro prescene. Good Band .Love the performance.
Great tune and Band !
I'm happy to have seen them once, but really wish I could have seen them back in the beginning.
top 10 most fav songs
LOVE

You have an awesome attitude man!
Patrick O'Hearn. "Devil's Lake" forever.
Oh it was you. You're the tosser who caused all that. ua-cam.com/video/KBT8rMv4j3M/v-deo.html

Awesome
that bass intro is one of the best ever!
@xhezpu That's Chris Chaney. He played on 2003's Strays and has since left and rejoined several times, and is the current bass player.
Live Voodoo,New Orleans 2009, They were bad ass, and I'm an old fart, but these guys are good.
The best bassist ever! Not an option just a fact!
Best live band ever seen

THIS WHAT MY FAV SONG LEARNING TO SK8
You should've learned to spell!
Love it!! Kick in...
Damn perry,what a voice!

Beast of a song
Steve, Eric, Dave and Perry...just drop me in the front row on the 45th year reunion tour if you just had your 23rd.
Porno for pyros was also a great group! He is a great artist!!

The camera work and editing are amazing.....
I'm 51 and can still play this one on the drums.... but I need a nurse to help me off stage afterwards. - friggin sucks to get old. I shit you not.
Saw them open for X at Cal State Fullerton in 83 or 84.
that just kicked my ass! fantastic
Does time affects Dave Navarro's body ??? see him playing in some RHCP video and you will notice that now he is older just because he has more tattos
The scales at 1:14 and 1:48 are badass !!!!
Not quite the original band, though. Eric Avery is not in this lineup. He and Perry couldn't settle their differences in the end. If you ask me, many of their songs would not be what they are without his bass parts. i.e. Summertime rolls, Three Days, etc.
What are your thoughts on Chaney?
I remember seeing them in late '80s when they all had dreads, what band that helped f**k hair metal! 🏴
Yeah!!!
Can't get loud enough
There was also a LIVE 3D broadcast of the show sponsored by UA-cam
wow
Eric Avery's bass IS Jane's Addiction. Gotta have him to be THE band. DUH. CASH IN.
Dave has that cool sexy style like Prince and I dig the way he’s open about porn he’s obsessed with tattoos guitar & porn how cool is that and let’s not forget he was married to Carmen Electra
♥️❤️💯🤨🧐🤫🤔👍
Perkins is a maniac on that kit!
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Readymade readymade.

Where is this? Reminds me of Terminal 5?
Jane's Addiction and Smashing Pumpkins are the only bands that were working some there between Rock and Metal
16 poor souls will not be commen down the mountain :(
I actually agree, and navaro doesnt fit with any other band, but with janes it just works, and it does actually make their sound.
Dave Navarro must have the world's greatest collection of leather pants.
Those pants look like they were Levis
@SammySinda Umm... it says New York City in the description of the video.
I don't understand what Perry have did in the face now! Maybe he's afraid of the oldness?
Surfing is great exercise.
Talk about SUCK. THE CROWD SUCKS. OMG. Put me up front in the pit at the start and watch the show firework. Saw Jane's live in 89, 90 and 91. , Eric Avery, Perkins? Navaro? And Perry? OMFG. @Deauxboy666 The beautiful thing about opinions is they don't all have to be the same.
🤘🏻

How is dave not breaking the strings or the bridge when there's no locking nut on his guitar?
You may not be too far off at 2:53 you can plainly see the unicursal hexagram on Navarro's elbow, which is a symbol used in Crowley's religion Thelema and figures into the OTO. Not a tattoo a non occult practitioner would get.
Getting up -ps2
Does Anyone Know What State This Venue Is Located? I'd Really Like To Know Thank You To Whoever Replies :-)
You would think after all these years of performing, Dave would finally be able to afford a shirt. Guess not.
He saves a lot of money
That makes sense, but why is this the one posted then?
What is the name of this venue? I wanta go
