I would LOVE your feedback on this video, we want to be better!! Also, did you see the fish rip me over those rocks? 🤷🏽♀️
Awesome content, thorough and easy to follow, plus you out there fishing the presentation and landing that buck made it all perfect!
Appreciate the information and awesome footage
How do you judge how long of a leader to use? Also is the goal to have the beads dragging the bottom or suspended just above?
It may seem like a lot but one thing I add to my bobber set up is a medium size corkie right above the bobber. So bobber stop, 2 beads like you do, then corkie then bobber, bead and bobber stop below that. The corkie lets me know if anything is tangled up or not sitting right. Sometimes my bobber is straight up and down like its fine but the corkie is sitting off to the side of the top of the bobber and that tells me my line wrapped or twisted during the cast. When everything is fishing right the corkie will sit directly on top of the bobber. Plus if you happen to be combat fishing itll help you distinguish your bobber from everyone else's. Oh and make it a bright corkie that contrasts your bobber color. Orange top bobber, use a chartreuse corkie. chartreuse bobber use a orange corkie. One color is usually easier to see depending on the light or glare so it adds a visual aid in that respect too.
I second this on float setups
Yeah I have seen this a bit, I dont know why I dont give it a try. Its like a habit think I suppose. It does make a ton of sense
Great explanation of setting up your beads, especially for giving the reason why the hard bead is three fingers above soft one.
Absolutely right Bad Ash with the bead colors and the clarity of the color of the water.
Thanks Lawrence! I was hoping people would find the tips helpful!
Excellent video! Love the “how to” tips and demonstrations.
Thank you so much
Love your perspective of nature, Ash!
Thank you so much!! I'm glad you enjoyed it!
Love your perspective and your reverence for the wilderness, Ash.
Thank you so much!
Thanks for the tip on the lower bobber stopper! Along with all the other info… water color, etc. Jim
Glad to help!
Loved your video and learned a lot
Thanks for sharing
Good tips on the brighter beads etc, certain rivers they really like beads 😉
Great video! Nice little buck and some good tips for bead fishing.
Glad you enjoyed it
I really liked this video. I'm looking forward to setting up this double bead and double bobber stop system. The underwater bead comparison was informative and overall I thought it is a great video. Sorry about that "Rock Ripper" but that's fishing! That buck was a beauty. Thanks Ash
I am so glad that was helpful! Thanks for checking it out!! Let me know how it goes for you 😁
Nice Buck... I never tire admiring those colors...
Nice video.
My go to bead is orange/white with the white up and orange down and some white yarn w/ shrimp oil. I cut the yarn at the base of the hook so no short strikes.
This sounds like a KILLER set up. I used to fish yarn all of the time, I am not sure why I stopped doing it. You're making me want to bring it back!
@@BadAshOutdoors I use that for steelhead and silvers... With and w/o sand shrimp.
I failed to mention this is on the Skykomish River...
Excellent! Thanks Jim, have a wonderful fishing season!
Awesome episode!! FISH WHISPERER
Awesome breakdown on presentation in dirty water conditions. Hope its been raining enough for you up there to keep your season going! We are begging for some rain in Nor cal and Southern Oregon.
Yes! I am home now in NorCal- sounds like there is a good system coming in!!
@@BadAshOutdoors Great to hear this last one was such a tease the Smith didn't even jump lol. Need at least one more burner before trout season opens up! 🙏🤠
WOW big fish
Great video thank you for posting.
Hey Jeff! Glad you liked it! Thank you for watching it :)
Yeah, I’ll definitely be back. I’m subscribed to your channel. 🙂 I just want to see your filleting skills. If you could fillet the fish on camera every time you catch one, that would be great. 😌
Nice video. Most double bead videos show the beads more spaced apart and each bead with its own hook. This is a cool setup when the regs only allow one hook. But do you have a decent hooking percentage on fish biting the top bead? It seems kind of far from the hook. Thanks
Use this technique today and I was the only one to hook into a fish. So A+
THATS WHAT I LIKE TO HEAR!!!! CONGRATS!!
Gotta love being the early bird and getting to your favourite spot. However, you always get assholes that just come in and fish with you there. Then again, the river is nice to wash away the DNA! Lots of love and blessings from Ontario Canada!
Thank you so much for watching, sending love right back to you in Ontario!
Are you fishing in Washington?
Hi Ash. What are your favorite reels? What pound braid and brand on main ?
Great video
If I run a bead I will generally match the inline weight to the float about the only time that I won't do that is running more than one split shot on the leader, with a jig or using Bait weights and I always snell the hooks to add yarn in bigger off colored water.
Nice video. Could you please share the link of the beads which you used and sizes? Thank you and keep it up
bnrtackle.com/
I used the candy apple red in 10-12mm
I generally use 10-14
Braided line is an absolute must with a float rod. It floats and allows you to mend line easily for a more natural presentation.
Agreed! The confidence I have in braid is so strong
@@BadAshOutdoors Well a lot of people use mono for bobber fishing and mono sinks so you get a weird presentation. At least for me it's like that.
When will we see you fishing the CenterPin? :D
I used to fish centerpin only! I will bust it out this winter just for you!
@@BadAshOutdoors sweeet!!! cant wait to see some videos :D
Also, since you're in the Northwest... I really think you would love a fishing trip to Banks Lake for smallmouth bass. Next weekend my wife and I are going to Lake Havasu here in AZ for stripers, smallmouth and flathead catfish. Sometimes I do miss Washington for fishing rivers for salmon, sturgeon and steelhead. Ocean for rockfish and lings 🥺
I would love banks lake! Fun spot and awesome fish! I need to get back there
Not fair that you are putting the bead stops on the line WITHOUT magnifying glasses!!!
Jumping fish!!!! Yahoo!
Smart fish going through the grass and over the rocks - I hate when that happens!
Great video, thank you.
FISH --------------> ON
Neighbor Henry
Anytime a fish gets me in a log or brush and I know I’m running too light of leader to pull them through I always hit free spool and let them swim out. Not much you can do about the rocks 😂 maybe wade out and keep the rod tip as high as possible.
Free spooling has saved me a few times! This one just didnt work out!
What up bad ash.greetings from forest walker.
Hey Forest! Greetings!!
When Matt said Ollie sit Ibtgought he said holy S%#! Lmao haha
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHASHA
The best smile ever... :) Great job and patience getting the second fish out of that snag (although it broke the line later anyway). Question?! So you really float beads? I've only either drifted or bobberdogged beads. I thought they needed to roll on the bottom. So you fish your beads mid-water or do you adjust the leader to drag the bottom anyway? I think they are semi-buoyant so if you float fish them, they would be at mid-depth regardless of the leader length anyway. I've never tried that before. Anyway, I was thinking how cool it would it be to run into you randomly on a river one of these days. :)
Thanks, Hide! I do float beads sometimes! Rolling on the bottom is good but if you have really rocky or bouldery areas its nice to float them across! I have a feeling the run in will happen!
Fish on everyone.
😺😺😺🎣🎣🎣
that was the tinyest bead...what size was that 4mm? 6mm?
I think an 8mm actually
@@BadAshOutdoors love it
Lmao you getting ripped around by that fish. Me and my bud hooked a nice wild on the cowlitz yesterday. Got caught up on a log in the way in and I went in after her😂. I specialize in fishing spots not landing spots I told him.
LOL landing spots 😭😭😂😂😂
😉🥃🇺🇸
Great information. …. But … maybe paint your nails flesh toned. Was easy listening but hard to follow with 10 bright white bead like nails flashing where your working set up.
Glad you loved the information
That's what I'm talking about, don't you love that Revo rocket reel it picks that line up quick I love high speed reels when bobber fishing, and when those steelhead or salmon rush you that reel will keep up so the line don't go slack and give the fish a chance to get that hook loose.
I love it!
Fly fish mono rig. 😃
Can I like this video again??
Two hooks, not legal in Canada.
Oh okay!
My replies to comments in comment threads haven’t been seen by anyone on any channel lately and I don’t know why, so I’ll type here. I’m not trolling you, lol. I’m just giving you a video request. Sorry if I’m annoying you, that’s not my intention.
Happy Valentines Day !
Omg thank you so much for clarifying! The comments definitely struck me as "don't hurt the fish"
I owe you an apology! I jumped to an unfair conclusion. I own that.
Happy Valentines Day, hope to see you back here.
Ash is a serial (fish) killer
I’m sorry Ash…I can’t sit thru the YT leadin for 5 minutes
Not sure what you mean? The five minute countdown?
All you can see is those finger nail polish
PLEASE film yourself filleting the fish next time after you catch it immediately fresh out of the water. 🙏
Will do! Keep watching, it's coming.
To be honest, I've grown rather fond of you trolling me. See you next week! -Ash
BECAUSE IM BAAD IM BAAD YAKNOW IT LOL
YEAHH!!
Back in the old days we never used bobbers except in tidewater we just dredged the bottom with corkies like men!
Great!
I love you!
