The T stops for soft beads from BNR are a game changer. No line damage, no slipping down closer to or onto the hook.

Love this video...I fish double beads on the Niagara River. Letting the beads drag on the bottom results in a snag virtually every time on the rocks in that river, so I generally have to wait until I see my float tilted into the current, then shallow it a little or I'll be losing 2 beads at a time left and right.

Try using lighter pound test on the bottom bead that will break then you only loos one bead

What’s going on Addicts. Can’t express enough how much I love what you guys are doing, I’ll be completely honest tho.I have moments where I hate you all for being so damn smart and living out your dream and taking advantage of (Your,Our) passion for Steelhead & Salmon, hell fishing in general. Definitely get a little envious of what you guys are doing, and places your getting to go. Anyway like said I take my addicted hat off to you all. So I’m from Northern California been fishing since I could walk. Bobber fishing has started becoming super popular around here now. When I was a kid everyone just bounced the bottom. But last 7-10 years with lack of rain and water that Sneaky presentation is key to having a chance at fish. My question is about why you guys mostly fish Jigs, Worms, and of course (Marlins) favorite Beads. Ha ha ha, you guys mostly fish Artificial. Me personally I have caught fish off Jigs, but have yet to fish Worms or Beads. I use roe under my float, and depending on water clarity I use either a decent chunk of roe or a tiny piece in Clear water. My bad sorry to ramble. What I’m asking, is do you guys fish the artificial because of regulations on the rivers your fishing, or is it because you feel it’s harder and more challenging to catch fish on Jigs, Beads etc, Bait makes it too easy. Or is it simply because you guys think artificial stuff works better and you catch more fish. Super curious. Like said I’m just venturing into the float fishing, always did so good bouncing bottom transition took some time. So I’m just curious why you guys don’t drift roe under your floats more for Steelhead. Salmon is a given. Lol. Thank addicts, super sorry for the Novel. I get a little carried away and excited talking about chrome,, You guys can relate a little. Take care guys keep the episodes and good times coming. Thank you

An old school way we used to use in the 60's & 70's to stop beads, or corkies, okie drifters etc. that you want to keep from moving up and down the leader is to use a toothpick. You simply position the bead/corkie where you want it on the leader and then jam the end of the toothpick into the top of the bead or corkie's hole and break the toothpick off flush with the top of the bead/corkie once the toothpick won't go any further into the hole. It's quick to set up especially with cold hands; and as the toothpick gets wet in the river it swells even tighter for a firmer non slip lure position.

I love the video here's two improvements to the set up, on your hooks use a snell knot (it's easy to tie and retains 100% line strength) and use a Uni-Loop on the dropper so you can pre-tie and change them out really quickly and (to continue my run on sentence) the dropper is reusable.

That way I can go full learning mode, you should include links to your setups in your description, so I, and others, can simply amazon click or make a list and head out with the stuff and your videos, or at least I plan on doing that and that would help lol.

I'd would have loved to have caught a steelhead and some day I will (now 70). I did hook, but never landed 28 fish on , but the last one on to the beach/shore (10 feet off the water and by me got off and went back into the water) as I dove for it) I've never still landed a steelhead, but still want to someday.

Excellent tutorial! I’ve fished beads and cookies years ago when I was a teacher in Salmon Idaho. I have been traveling the last ten years from Iowa to Riggins, Idaho. I have a guide and can only fish for 3 days. He fishes with two hot shots out the front of our drift boat. I always feel he’s fishing and I’m watching. He allows me my second rod to throw a bead or cookie. I have done very well doing this. I have never used a float and perhaps this trip I will. I recently have been tying my leader to the mid section of my #2 owner hook with a fisherman’s knot. Then I take a # 12 cheater thread it on my leader and then thread my leader through the top of the eye and pull the cheater on. This way there is no gap issue. The cheater will stay on top and not rotate into the cap. Should I place a #12 bead above the hook? Will it be as effective? Water temp. Will be cold since Riggins has been 30 degrees in the morning with a high of 40. Does that change the equation as to beads vs cookies and the size of the presentation. I’m going next week with low pressure systems over and over. Any advice will be appreciated! Keep the videos coming. Thanks!

Keep your plastic tag ends and dispose of them properly next time, not just leaving it on the ground or a park bench. Microplastics from fishing line abrasion, tag ends and lost floats/lures are one of the main pollutants found in fish bodies. Lead by example, you guys make great vids and have a huge audience.

I guess if you're guiding and need to figure out what size and color to use its understandable to use a two bead rig,but its really not that hard to match the beads to conditions and find the right depth with a single bead rig.
I've seen plenty of fish foul hooked on a double bead rig and the second leader is just more junk for guys to lose in the river.

Never tie to the shank of the first hook tie to the hook eyelet stronger knot point and ya won’t bed your hook out. ;) also it’s better to run a single bead rig bc steel love to tool hence the other hook can snag the fish and they can break ya off.
